  • @Aurora0Lights To reply to the comment you removed> I probably sent a video response with the real deal from Frida singing, but it either hadn't been approved or it was on my old terminated channel.

  • nice versioin

  • Lovely, but here is the real deal. :))

  • what a sell out that Benny. hahaha... Frida still better IMO. :))

  • Yes, definetively the abba sound is just as someone has said in other coment a "mistery". It´s not a matter of how good your voice is, von otter has an amazing opera voice, in fact I can´t even really name it. Maybe their vocal sound is one of the reasons they are still around. Thnaks for posting

  • great version!1

  • muy buena version!!!!

  • Fascinating video, thanks so much for posting.

  • I like Frida better.

  • so much better then Frida.

  • Interesting to see Georg Wadenius producing this kind of folk/classical stuff! He's mostly looked upon as one of Swedens more well known jazz guitarists, but he has also written and performed several popular childrens songs. While in the US he was hired by S.N.L. and Steely Dan, among others, playing both pop/rock and jazz/fusion.

  • She is crediting Benny for music Bjorn co-wrote!

  • I can see that this singer loves to sing Frida songs.LOL

  • This is Anne Sofie von Otter, the famous opera singer - you can easily find information about her on the web

  • Who is she? she seems to be professional singer yet I don`t know her... :( could anyone tell me something about her? the song is probably he most beautiful of all I`ve heard, it`s so full of emotions and everything

  • How can you (justbe722) be so ignorant of not knowing this singer who is one of the most acclaimed and greatest opera singers in the world? She sings ABBA songs for the fun of it and does it perfectly too.

  • ABBA

  • It's a very special song, so classical

  • Really people, cover versions don't want to replicate teh exact same sound of the original - it's kind of like a tribute the artist does, like "I like your work...here's my interpretation of it". It's not supposed to be the same mood. I admit, I like ABBA's version better, but I still like this version as well. A nice voice.

  • I agree with Italiandivo I love her too.

She has recorded these songs with th composers so... the point was definitely not to do the same thing with ABBA and Mrs. Von Otter... There is no comparison !

What I like the best is how she is able to sing Offenbach in French, Schubert in German, Monteverdi in Italian, Händel, Gluck, Mozart and Andersson or Costello... It is always Anne-Sofie and this is always wondeful... And for a classical singer it is really enjoyable...

  • And now that Anne Sofie von Otter has outgrown her trousser roles, she has moved to Wagnerian repertoire. We are going to see her sing Waltraute's role in Twillight of the Gods. I have no doubt she will carry the audience to new heights. BRAVA! But for me she is still the perfect OCTAVIAN in Strauss' Der Rosenkavalier. No one could come after von Otter.

  • The french style suits this song well and this song also suits her voice well. However on many of the other songs her voice sounds to cold and reserved and the arrangements are to stripped down. However it is still an interesting cd to have if you like Benny Anderssons music.

  • Definetively the Abba sound is a mistery. Something is missed in Von otter´s interpretation of abba´s music. The english Mamma mia singers are unable to recreate the abba vocal landscape...And amazingly Neither Frida or Agnetha were able to achieve that sound in her solo cd´s...a mistery

  • great take on favorite B&B song -do more, Anne Sofie!

  • hmmmmmmmmmmmmm good version very french ! still got nothing on frida and abba great!!

  • hmmm...no, not anywhere near as appealing as the originals.

  • Whatever - ABBA is better! God! ABBA is the best!

  • I agree with you 100%!! This person SUGS!! ABBA is SOOOO much better!

  • ABBA živi vječno

  • Good try... nothing like ABBA

  • God, I love her!

  • This is one of my favourite Abba songs. A huge regret that we were never able to see it sung. I would love to see frida sing this. Glad that someone has finally realised how beautiful this song is.

  • want this album, just come out hasnt it.

  • The arrangement is interesting, sounds very French!

She has a lovely and strong voice but still I love Frida's more, of course!

  • Sounds like this will be a very complementary collection next to ABBA!!
