  • If this is your only love song, you should make more Craig! :D

  • Beautiful composition.. thank you

  • good groove !! much beter than world famous solo guitarists

  • absolutely love chorus in this song.

  • You plays so beautiful!!!

  • really good stuff. used to compose my own fingerstyle music but quit a year ago. need to get back into it!

  • The whole part of this song is great, but my favorite part is from 0:36 - 1:03 ...nice composition, indeed.

  • after discovering candyrat about two or three years ago my musical priorities have shifted from electric metal guitar to almost completley acoustic finger style... i dont regret my decision.

  • @fredhelp2 I know what you mean

  • @fredhelp2 No reason to trade one for the other :D You can do both!

  • i cant get over how amazing this music is! all this crap in this charts isn't music, its factory-produced business vomit, created to make music from idiotic consumers, i can actually hear this and its beautiful.

  • @SockHatBoy created to make money*

  • this is amazing man. all of you guys are the reason why i play finger style.

  • chilling craig!

  • Interesting melodies... like it

  • amazing composition Craig!

  • This is one of the most beautiful piece of fingerstyle guitar I've ever heard

  • bonerific

  • Man ur music is easily understandable for even those who dont have a sense of music

  • WTH-ly cool !!!

  • may i ask what tuning is this song played on?

  • Beautiful atmosfere, you build with your guitar, i play the guitar but you tuch the sky, with your music :-))

  • best song ever

  • sounds like a crazy bike ride!

  • this is fantastic!!!! I can not take my eyes off of your hands!

  • Does anyone have a guitar pro tab or power tab for this song? In return I'll be willing to share a tab. I have some official candyrat tabs : Reality, Song for Stephan, 30 Minutes In London, Life In Technicolour, South Side of the Sky, Spirits In The Material World, also Norym and Ziur (Maneli Jamal),

  • what's that near the nut of his guitar??

  • @onixtheone i think it is to clean the strings after playing.. :)

  • @onixtheone Actually, it's to mute the strings from ringing past the nut. As the guitar vibrates the strings tend to ring, and it gets annoying when you're playing. It's the same reason why Antoine has scarves around the nuts of his guitars.

  • Tuning? Pleasee?

  • 20 people are envy!

  • mmmm..luv this song..goodnight, Craig..wherever you are.

  • First fingerstyle song I ever learned.

  • Craig actually is coming out with a new album April 26th! He told me the CD's were looking really good too!

  • Talented no doubt. But like mos tof the music in this genre they only threaten to break into a tune. A distinct lack of melody

  • meeen,i have not seen someone playing the guitar like this before,it feels like i am beside the ocean or something reminiscing...

    .

  • meeen,i have not seen someone playing the guitar like this before,it feels like i am beside the ocean or something reminiscing....

  • Thanks to Andy McKee for introducing my sad uncultured ass to this guy!

  • what tuning is that?

  • [sighs] what else can I say? I have worn out this piece since I've stumbled upon it.

  • i can't stop listening...no words..no words can describe how i feel right now.

  • They really shouldn't have dislike buttons on videos like this/ or candyrat's vids in general

  • thumbs up for 2:03

  • God bless Candyrat for finding and supporting true musicians

  • Why a three mile bikeride? :( why not a worldwide ride? so that this song would've been an hour long =)

  • I wonder if he ever thinks.. "this part coming up is kinda hard I hope I dont mess up" .... Yeah probably not.

  • right around 2:15 my display drivers on my laptop stopped working.... I think my laptop just couldn't handle all of the awesome going on in this video.

  • Is he playing a classical guitar? It sounds like all strings are metal...

  • @Joshs0515

    They are all metal.

  • Beginning sounds a lot like Canada Sad

  • @MusicToMyFears Well not a lot but yeah I can find some real close similarities though.

  • It's fantabulous... Craig, u r my guitar hero..

  • after almost 2 year of watching this video.. I notice that there's a big microphone in the middle, first time I notice! I was just watching Craig and his ridiculous hands playing the wonderful song!

  • [iminent=ZB5MBBgUWfOB] hehey!

  • I was wondering, what style of music is it ? i mean, apart from "fingerstyle" or else ... how would it be called if played by a band for example ?

  • Comment removed

  • @JoeLaFigue

Classical guitar. One guitar with harmony and a walking bassline.

  • the whole song rules, but the riff with the bends gets me! love that

  • Simply Amazing. The acoustic guitar is lucky to have someone like you on this earth.

  • COME TO AUSTRALIA

  • @ninovalmadre I second that motion!

  • Craig you are so good at playing guitar, and an ispiration too for all other guitarists like me, keep on doing this way :)

  • Wow I actually recognized a few chords I play haha, but my joy didn't last long..

  • yum

  • great great great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Craig, your a good idol mate.

  • I wish I never heard this song.. so I could hear it for the first time every time!

  • how long does it takes to play the guitar like this? several years, or?!?

    it's realy nice! your're awesome!!!

  • @stAkz20 just practice a few weeks, you should have it down no problem

  • Become a fan of Craig D'Andrea on facebook and help him get over 1000 fans!

    facebook.com/pages/Craig-DAndrea/76607730077

  • I don't like when this song is over. I guess that's why they invented repeat.

  • sometimes modulation can spoil a peice, so.....

  • This is unbelievable! I am pretty happy that Candyrat sells the tab for this song and also for Standing Still in the same package, because those are two of my favourites. Craig, you are awesome, keep making this music because I love it!

  • My favourite of your compositions, especially because you juxtapose that little bit of dissonance at the end of the chorus against that awesome melody. As for the tapped section, well...

  • You are such a genius.

  • so cool O___o

  • Love this song...

  • Hy guys, I am starting to compose some songs inspired by Craig. "Pumping through my veins" is my first song. Check on my channel.

Feel free to share your opinion. Comment, rate and subscribe.

    Thanks

  • Fantastic

  • yes, chessmeister, I think you are the only one. Get over yourself.

  • Is that paper to counter fret buzz?

  • It's not paper but a piece of cloth, and yeah, it's meant to counter some buzzing of the strings. When he "slaps" for the hard downbeat, strings can vibrate and produce a note/harmonic between the neck and the tuner pegs. It also happens during hard strumming and tapping somewhat. The cloth dampens that out. You may also see some guitarists with a handkerchief tied around the neck in the same area.

  • @soundmethod I think so, yeah.

  • nope..

  • you're going to be so happy! I'm going to force key changes in every piece on my new cd. people that 'need key changes' are just saying that so everyone else thinks they can recognize them. I think I'll play the last chorus a step higher like the radio hits. Could be so cool, right?

Don't need a modulation to make a piece of music good. Think of this like a pop music instead of a classical or jazz piece.

  • Man, your sarcasm is dripping- I don't mean any offense. I appreciate your skill to a very high degree. I am an avid fan of classical music- I'm sure we can both agree that people like Shostakovich and Debussy and all the rest wrote much more complex music than this. I can appreciate your music for what it is, but I see all the things that can be done with composition. Your skill is unlimited, but I feel like incredible guitarists like you are restrained by the repertoire available to you.

  • Yeah, I'm with you about classical. There is more to be done on guitar for sure. I'm still writing new material and I promise a key change or two on my next record. I couldn't resist an awful sarcastic comment but don't take me too seriously. I would suggest some Stephen Bennett for your listening pleasure - he knows what he's doing with a piece of music.

  • Awesome. I suppose in the end you should keep playing the music you enjoy playing... I find I lose my drive if I'm playing music I don't appreciate.

  • @craigd19 I doubt you could possibly release anything short of pure brilliance. Thank you for posting these videos, it's such a pleasure to watch your raw talent in these single-shot clips. Eagerly awaiting that new cd!!!

  • @craigd19 You already had my respect since the first time I saw you play the guitar, but now, you're one of my heroes. Haha I laughed my ass off and felt empowered all at once hearing this. You are one of the few musicians today keeping real music alive and going, and you're one of my biggest inspirations ever, and I don't even play guitar. I'm a keyboardist looking to one day reach your level. Keep the magic going, and keep it real bro. You're a hero!

  • @craigd19 everyone knows that music isnt good unless some rich son of a bitch says it is, hopefully people will catch the hint of sarcasm, keep playing man, might be half as good as you someday

  • @craigd19 I agree with you and anyway your songs are truly beautiful

  • @craigd19 in agreement.... people that say music 'needs' anything is a fool. Classical theory would tell me my (V) chord needs to resolve to either a (I) or a (vi)... but following the rules all the time is no fun! And although this piece does not modulate... it is more through composed than a "pop" song, so I'm calling it some fusion between pop and classical. Progressive fingerstyle guitar?? Keep on rocking anyways....

  • @craigd19 You're a good songwriter. I'm trying to learn some of your songs but I think it'll take me a while until I have it all perfected like yourself.

  • @craigd19 Just whack a capo quickly on the first fret to mock the radio tunes, wuold be quite amusing! Good work dude

    Nathan

  • @craigd19 dont need any changes craig;) I was up all night waiting for your new cd "and the BLT's" and I must have been one of the first ten to have bought it on itunes:P I rly enjoy how your music is evolving youre still young and your music keeps getting better cant wait for your new album:)

  • I wouldn't say I'm bothered by it. I'm learning my classical music late (in college) so I guess I'm not classically trained, but I'm noticing that this music is VERY easy on the ears. I've gone through phases where I listen to a TON of fingerstyle and I've found it's the only music I can study to because there is less going on (harmonically).

  • @chessmeister - your retarded xD

  • what kind or guitar is that?

  • Its a Breedlove...I'm not sure exactly what model though.

  • dude thats can't be a breedlove, the head is totally different.

  • Beneteau Guitars

and this one in particular was handmade exclusively for him

  • tuning? anyone? thanks

  • gosh i love this song

  • this guy is brilliant. this is what kills me about candy rat artists. you cant figure out the songs on your own cause of the outrageous tunings :x

keep up the great work craig. looking forward to more of your stuff and ill definately be buying the tab set for this song, canada sad and standing still :)

  • excelente artista

  • tuning?????

im dead set on learning this. can't find the tabs anywhere.

  • You can buy them for 15 dollars on candyrat.

  • sounds nice

  • whats the thing hes put on near the head of the guitar?

  • @TheGeorgeGuy Tape.

  • @TheGeorgeGuy

It's a tissue to whip away his tears. j/k

  • lol

  • @aa6757

    lololol

    great music btw!

  • @TheGeorgeGuy

It is to dampen the string noises.

  • @TheGeorgeGuy :its a bit of cloth i think, its 2 stop the vibrations of the strings from going any further. its suppose 2 give a cleaner sound and stop anything from rattling

  • A cloth to stop the string string that goes from the nut to the tuning post from vibrating when he silences the strings quickly. Antoine Dufour achieves the same effect with a bandana.

  • wow

  • if ever in life i would be a guitar pro.

  • anybody have a clue what guitar he is using?

  • a greenfield it looks like

  • Yeah, you're getting craig confused with andy mckee.

  • Comment removed

  • its not a greenfield, its a benteau

  • Comment removed

  • i think craig has been jamming with antoine dufour

  • nice flow mate.keep it up

  • it's so soothing i feel asleep while looping it XD

  • whats the purpose of the thing under the strings up top?

  • i think it helps from any buzzing

  • yea u r ryte

  • i think it makes harmonics louder or more clear

  • Reduces extraneous ringing from that end of that guitar more than anything else. Some people that do a lot of tapping tie a rag on the bridge side of the nut to stop unwanted open and tapped notes ringing.

  • That's just to bug you

  • Comment removed

  • i guess some guys were born to play the guitar...

  • @remymarimot Yeah and this is one of em!

  • I HATE THIS!!!

The song is to short! You should have keept on playing forever. Well, thank god for the replay button. Great song:)

  • you people need to just shut the fuck and listen to the music. dont worry about all that other bullshit

  • I second this comment.

  • @ucookinwithbutta956x i agree ! people are concentrating on too much fucking bullshit all the time just stfu and listen

  • your amazing:) never stop playing. this is your thing:) i love your stuff, you have a unique style with your guitar. Never let ANYONE stop you from doing this!

  • proper grammar is good too :)

  • Yes, proper grammar is nice, especially the capitalizing of the first words in sentences, and the absence of slang and "emoticons." I will graciously assume that Herfer is being satirical and posting to heckle in a friendly manner. Good day to all.

  • indeed i was. I'm an easy going guy and don't really that much.

  • Please excuse my typo. I am sorry I have committed such a grave offense against the online community. I know how to write. I type one hundred twenty words per minute and have about twenty windows open in Firefox; sometimes I make a spelling mistake, especially when I am enjoying a few relaxing beverages and listening to tranquilizing music.

  • Whoever TD'd that comment is just jealous because they can't type their own name in one minute.

  • Craig's accomplishments are a great example of the 10,000 hour rule... to get this good at something, you have to put in the time. It takes hard work, dedication, and choices.

Most people can't do it all (multi-talented), but if you work hard on one thing, that you love doing, eventually you get good at it - sometimes real good!

Just my two centimes d'Euro - which is much stroner than the dollar right now :)

  • And awesome song as usual Craig.... nice work!

  • Lol... and i was gonna say.... Because I locked my keys in my car at a chicago show of antoine and craig.... i got to talk with them both for about 1 and a half hours after the show..... I do not take him as being very religious. Lol.... and I also hate it when ppl credit god.... im a composer myself, and I have never composed for god, at least not a christian one!

  • hes closer to god than we'll ever be lol

  • all your stuff is great. I lovvvveee that hook that brings me back and forth a few times during this piece.

  • What are the chords he's using from 2:03 to 2:47? I love it!

  • Simmer down

  • that is some God given talent if I ever say so.

  • barf!

  • anyone think that aliens created us, and also craig is the man all of these new guys that candy rat are signing are nowhere near craigs calibre or andys or donn or brooks so what the fuck candy.

  • speechless

  • it is so sad well I meant so fucked up that people push religions and their gods into anything they deem worth putting their label on.

maybe the dude playing this is an atheist - he would probably feel offended!

so people shut the fuck up about god this is about playing the guitar.

I could put it in nicer words but my patience is running quite low after hard days of work.

  • Couldnt agree more. Its so incredibly diminishing of a persons talent that people keep pushing god in what simply is a GREAT TALENT AND HOURS AND HOURS OF PRACTICE. It´s not god, it´s nature and it is human will. Nature made humans evolve into beeing capable of dooing the crappiest of things, and the most beautyfull of things, Clearly craig d´andrea is one of those that can do awesome things . It´s not god´s deed, it´s a perfectly human deed.

  • That´s a matter of believe my friend. I personally think that god doesnt exist and is just something made up long ago to work as a pole for helping people holding in and in other side, be used as a way of controlling people and turning them one against other. Still , i think that even if you believe that god exists, holding him responsible for something like this is so diminishing of the true talent behind. Stopping shoving believes into everything

  • and on the first day MAN created god

  • nuff said! the shorter the better!

  • i think the tuning sounds very like the one andy mckee uses in drifting so dadgad or dsus4...

  • way off

  • i wonder how that guitar is tuned ?

  • im not completely sure but my dadgad?

  • with strings and tuning knobs :P

  • CGEbFBbD (low to high)

  • this is relaxing

    thx for sharing, nice play

  • It is because you have hears, that's all

  • Its called practice. Nothing is impossible and this God charecter, the great dictator in the sky that you speak of...simply does not exist. Im sorry but if you believe in a talking snake and your drinking the blood of a 2000 year old space god every sunday, Please go ahead...

    haha.

  • I can already tell that you have incredibly skewed views of Christianity.
