  • Geeze this video gives me chills....Two of the worlds most amazing psychonauts, each on a totally different end of the spectrum, just having a casual chitchat and stroll in a cemetery - discussing things that most of us will never get close to experiencing or understanding. Long live Sasha. Terrance RIP. Much love to everyone else!

  • After awhile, they start to look exactly the same, just with opposite hair color...

  • I dont know why shulgin wants to isolate everything into synethicized experience... cant we just eat the whole organism to give us these compounds... why so particular? im scared of experiences from non-whole beings interacting with me and not a microsystem of such.

  • @sustainable2012 yo u nos wat ya talkin bout

  • @sustainable2012 I would say that because this way, you only take what's pharmacologically necessary. It can be good, psychologically, to take the whole mushroom, for example, but makes no difference pharmacologically, if you only have psilocybin in the mushroom. Yeah, there is not only psilocybin but psilocin, baeocystin and norbaeocystin too, substances that may affect the experience.

If you're only interested in the mind of the mushroom, why take the whole body? ;)

  • Thanks for this interview between these 2 great minds.

  • I wonder what they were trippin on when they did this

  • @leothelion877 probably life, just a guess.

  • @JasonSims1984 You Clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @JasonSims1984 is clueless

  • this is the best thing i've ever fucking seen

  • jim jones, adolph hitler, david koresh, charlie manson and terence mckenna: a persuasive rap and plenty of sheep willing to swallow it on their way to the slaughterhouse

  • @ajones123ful wtf...... your a fuckin bozo.

  • Shulgin = Teacher ; McKenna = Humble student

  • I love to see such eloquent people talking about doing drugs haha.

  • im always intrigued by how Terence McKenna and Timothy Leary compare psychedelics to the telescope... it's a thought-provocative analogy

  • This was interesting. Thanks for posting it. These two men are so different, but in a few ways much alike. The conversation was just cool to listen to.

  • I love the qualities of both of them. The quick speaker with mounds of potential knowledge ready to be spat out, and then the calm, collective speaker that thinks before he speaks to form the perfect question to be asked that needs no refinement.

Two of the most conscious down to earth people that probably spend more time unconscious in a psychedelic world.

Bravo... true pioneers... call it a curse, but I call it an adventure, and I wish I was bright enough to be part of these things :(

  • McKenna is weak and has drifted away, Shulgin has a strong mind.

  • I watch and listen to two of the greatest minds (IMO) interact, and youtube chooses to feature, in the sidebar, Ant and friggin Dec....

  • fkin noisy birds...

  • Their energy flow is fun to watch. in my opinion, terence was pushing him to talk about the struggle of being a "crazy person" and sasha was not having any of it, expressing the comfort of more or less omitting the strange functions of his brain to society. It helps for a public image and also at some point you realize that you're so far distant from the population in some way that you need to mask that facet of your personality from others. I love how they come together from that being cursed.

  • Sasha's little bob up and down around 3:30 is really cute. Shows his genuine child-like enthusiasm for his work.

  • Sasha's little bob up and down around 3:32 is really cute. Shows his genuine child-like enthusiasm for his work.

  • Man terence was so jelous haha ^^

  • So we really are cursed with being pioneers...

I can't stop laughing at Shulgins gleeful "yeeah :DD" at 8:36

  • fucking birds

  • ...awesome!

  • Anticholinergic.. are they talking about BZ or QNB (3-quinuclidinyl benzilate), I didn't think it was that potent?!

  • @slackdave its that potent

  • Can anyone tell me what Terrence McKenna ever did to make people think he was smart besides using lots of drugs?

  • @MastersOfInfinity Yes. He wrote some very lucid books. eg. "Food of the `Gods" . -a scholar who could think way outside of the box of conventional history will always come up with the connections that those in academia either can't say or can't see. Drugs don't make you smart. But certain plant and molecular daemons can speak to other parts of your being that your ego normally holds in quarantine.

  • @brokenpremise drugs don't make you smarter but imo psychedelic's, especially LSD helps in great abstract thinking as you talked about and to me increases your overall thought rate and intake in general. The problem is jumbling through all the random access memory both conscious and subconscious in your head to actually achieve something you set out to study or achieve. Psychedelic's don't make you smart but there a great calisthenic for our brain in moderate use of course, imo.

  • @MastersOfInfinity aside from his schooling, he used the I-Ching to put together the timewave theory, which tracks our developments in life, and interestingly so, ends Dec 21st. 2012, and he did this without regard of the Mayan calendar at the time.

  • 9.46 - The tools are there people, lets get to work!

  • how can you do all these and not be nutty as a fruit cake? LMFAOOO TOO GOOD.

  • Lol TMK seems to be speaking slower than normal??!!! Must be stonded haha, RIP

  • traducelo papa,jajaajaj

  • two of the most brilliant men, together. Wow.

  • Their sheer brilliance is always astounding...their mutual respect is a real joy to observe!

  • those fucking birds in the background make me want to put knives inside of things.

    CAAAWWWWWWWWW CAWWWWW CAWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • @herrsexyhosen

    Patience young Jedi.

  • most of shulgins work is vastly under appreciated

  • Shulgin enjoyed years of freedom to pursue his studies without interference from the U.S. government on what seems a tacit understanding that this be done without public fanfare. Two years after the publication of his tome "Pihkal - A chemical love story" in 1991 (sold at Virgin Records), the DEA raided Shulgin and revoked his license. I assume that Shulgin's decision to go public forever ended the hopes of anyone else with his talents and interests to be granted the privilege he enjoyed.

  • he reminds me of Bob Ross. the t.v. painter. haha

  • fascinating gentleman, mc Kenna also- like how he says were pioneers.....I consider myself to be in their club, having tried many tyryptamines and phenalamines in a scientific like study!! The medical research comunity needs to wake up and examine the benefits of these compounds.

  • fuck load ass birds

  • terence's voice is so calming

  • i don't know why but this shit is really fun to watch

  • So often we see him lecturing and teaching. It is really, really cool to see Terence, dare I say it, looking up to someone. One master learning from another.

  • Beautiful to watch.

  • Two masters.

  • What a pleasure to watch these two brilliant minds discussing , respectfully, the possibilities of what they have both had a hand in creating...thanks much, I love this talk!

  • Simply listening to McKenna's voice chills me out.

  • Legalize

    Spiritual

    Discovery

  • they gno so much.

  • haha

  • Two legends sharing their brilliant thoughts. Very entertaining.

  • 2 VERY ZOOMDOUT minds :-)

  • Great post.. It seemed like whoever was recording was stalking them without them knowing they were being watched haha haha

  • Awesome. I am in awe.

  • two trailblazers who had mankind's best interest at heart... excellent vid... thanks for sharing

  • Great video. I was amused at the difference in their speaking patterns. They're both so knowledgeable, but Shulgin talks about three times as fast. It's like watching a hummingbird and a halk fly together.

  • Yet the whole thing was harmonious.

  • @Jewbag06 he talks so fucking quickly its amazing i wonder if its an aftereffect from something

  • @Jewbag06

Mckenna was a heavy pot smoker, Shulgin studied MDMA. Hahaha.

  • Wow, two great men together.

    Thank you

  • Orbitals are for mathematicians... Organic Chemistry is for people who like to cook !!! - Dr. Shulgin.

  • These guys see only the benevolence in their creations.... 95% of the world only sees chaos and profit.

  • Terence looks so different, i'm only used to seeing his clean shaven black and white image.

  • The lesson of Shulgin: learn chemistry....

  • this is possibly the best video on youtube.

  • Thank you for this. :D

  • I sense a little bit of self doubt from McKenna. Really brilliant video, I love the intimacy of the conversation between these two greats.

  • "We live in a society where people jump out of airplanes' hahahaha oh god love ya terence.

Im into skydiving, and would easily jump out of a plane rather than entering the dmt realm again. DMT takes much more courage :)

  • Hmm, isobutyls that are more potent that 2N-dimethyltryptahmine.

  • yeah shulgin!!!

  • "I'm not a builder, I'm a tool maker." I love that quote!

  • my hero ^^
