I wish he could run again. My dream would be him as the democratic candidate and Ron Paul as the republican candidate. Then it would be a vote choosing the better of two goods, not the the opposite.
this guy is making too much sence to speak publicly. Now days it is the norm to speak one sided or the other and forget freedom of speech. if he would have spoke these words during a elwction he would be president and we would not have this clown that we have now. this country is going to have to wake up and get back to a FREEDOM of the PEOPLE and NOT FREEDOM OF BIG BUSINESS ! Exxon Moble has more freedom of speech than any one person in the country ! This is Sad to say !
Is it my distortion, or is it a common occurrence that when a politician takes the time to give in depth answers to important questions that few people actually listen? It is also true that when a politician gives an answer in the form of a political catch phrase without any substance that most people remember it and eventually base their voting decision on what they heard in that prescripted soundbite? If America isn't collectively suffering from ADD then why isn't Kucinich our president?

No chance in hell. Thanks for trying to take our guns away though. That will really stop criminals seeing as they are the ones that get guns illegally. RON PAUL!
This may be the closest we will come to a candidate who respects us atheist American citizens who have been underrepesented in government. You may have my vote.
@Cobblestones i think your mixed up here ! Athiest run this country and Athiest have more rights than anybody ! just look at who we have as president, Obama Athiest for sure. He is your man in office.
just because Obama seems like he's an atheist (I don't know if he is, but I think he is) doesn't mean atheists run the country. Are you nuts? There are very few atheists running this country, and the few there are have to hide it because our country has a deranged phobia of atheists.
Should govt-protected and sanctioned and subsidized multi-national (not even USA) corporations be allowed unlimited property rights, more than human beings? Should corporations have an unlimited right to externalize their own waste disposal costs on the public?
I have always felt that our founding father's took a view that while the government should acknowledge religion, it should never be forced on anyone whether in public office or not. This includes both faith and creed and lack thereof.
The official religion of this country is not Atheism, but instead there is no official religion. This must be understood by religious fundamentalists and atheist fundamentalists alike.
He was expressing his beliefs, you just went against his whole statement on that freedom there lol, he believes in his faith that he is doing the right thing, there you go.
No, you've got it all wrong. The point is that he's free to express his belief that the principle of equal justice is "spiritual", and I'm free to express my belief that he's talking bullshit. You've made a very common mistake. You see, by arguing that his "spiritual beliefs" are nonsense, I'm not saying that he's not allowed to have them.
I don't think people should be so concerned with causing offense, but I take your point about tact. How about a compromise? "He really had me impressed until that spiritual nonsense at the end."
I don't think he is mistaken in reading the Const. and especially DoI as spiritual documents. You or I may be uncomfortable with the term, but these are documents under which our country was founded and is hopefully guided. The wording and philosophical concepts strike me as warranting the description. Self-evident truths, natural laws, created equal, are indeed spiritual, not necessarily religious. Any document that subscribes even to sanctity of human life theory has a spiritual element.
Well perhaps, but then he starts talking about the US having a possible "spiritual destiny" which I found a bit nutty and confusing. I like Kucinich, but sometimes I feel he can be a little insubstantial and wishy-washy. I'd like to know what he was talking about when he said that.
If you turn eighteen after your state's primary/caucus but before the general election you can still register to vote for Dennis in the primaries/caucuses.
@EdibleDude Yes we are blind for sure. The President is elected by big business and we let it happen ! if you don't watch out you will have to be a president of big Corp. to run for president ! Big business elects who will help them and not you or I ! Do something crazy next election. Elect someone who will help the people and not big business ! i know this is crazy, but try it anyway !
I would like to add to this comment that the book "Are we Rome" is a good read on this subject. It shows all the parallels between the USA and the Roman Empire. If we don't change course the "The rise and fall of Rome" will soon be available in the version "The rise and fall of the USA". Vote your hearth. Vote not to repeat history. PLEASE VOTE.
Kucinich is the underdog... while most politicians criticize and try to prohibit religious people who aren't Christians, Kucinich is there to remind people that we should have the freedom to believe what ever faith and should not be excluded because of it. +5

A religious man, defending atheists?! KICK ASS!! A shame that he didn't make it in '08. Who's all up for Dennis in 2012?

Spirituality and religion are totally different concepts. Only an uninformed, angry atheist or diehard, religious zealot would think otherwise.
Go Dennis!

I think what ShaggyTheClown17 is saying is that your wording is a little strong, and some people may find that offensive, is all.
If you had said "He really had me impressed until that spiritual stuff at the end." it would have been better suited.

I guess striving toward the ideal of a spiritual document is a spiritual destiny. But yeah, kind of wishy-washy, I agree.
