  • Stevens looks truly exhausted going to get Cup. This was hardest run for NJ & they have only won 2 playoff series in last 9 years. Ken D retired & Nieuwendyk went to Tor in offseason. Stevens retired & Nieder went to Anaheim after 2004. #7 Ducks upset Wings & Stars & #6 Wild upset Avs & Nucks to meet in West Conf Final, which was a huge favor to NJ because Devils just barely had enough left in tank after getting past Ottawa & after Brodeur let Ducks back in series with the Ozolinsh goal.

  • he didnt have any d a few years back when he posted what 48 wins? or when he passed roys record?

  • The players must have joked how awful the music selection was for this...

  • I could watch this over and over again, it never gets old. Hopefully this can happen again soon!

  • awesome moment, but such a cheesy arena playlist. star wars? come on.

  • A Ranger fan disliked this video..and probably the 2 others too.

  • marty you deserved the conn smythe. but because bettman and the nhl dont like the devils they had to give it to giguere. lets win one more for marty!!!!!!

  • @bbobs327 2002-2003 Stanley Cup Final shots on goal...

    Devils 29, Ducks 16-Brodeur wins

    Devils 25, Ducks 16-Brodeur wins

    Ducks 33, Devils 31-Brodeur losses

    Ducks 26, Devils 26-Brodeur losses

Devils 37, Ducks 23-Brodeur wins (scored 3 on Brodeur)

Devils 28, Ducks 22-Brodeur losses (Brodeur pulled, 5 goals against)

    Devils 25, Ducks 24-Brodeur wins

As you can CLEARLY see, Brodeur had nothing to do with winning that series.

  • @TheGoalieGuru

Shot quantity does not equal shot quality. You prove nothing.

  • @NJDevils914 So the games that the Devils defense worked their asses off and gave up only 16 shots against, they had more quality scoring chances.

    Is it possible? Yes.

Is it probable? Not on your life!

Good try! Look at the facts and start the healing process that Brodeur isn't what you thought because you didn't know this critical information.

  • @TheGoalieGuru

I did not imply that was the case, but what I did imply was that you have no factual evidence yourself, just like I don't either.

Look, I get what you're trying to argue. But the guy has been a valuable piece of this team for every Cup victory, just as valuable as each defender. Make your claims all you want, you won't change any Devils fans opinions on Marty. And that is a fact.

  • @NJDevils914 Devils fans didn't know ALL the facts!

The average shots against Brodeur in the victories he had, in the the four Cup Finals he appeared in, was 19.

In the losses he had in the Cup Finals he averaged 28 against.

Now that you know the FACTS, the most important facts, you can see Brodeur was not the star of the show. The defense and systems were. He was just along for the ride, with the best seat in the house!

  • @TheGoalieGuru Right, because all the robbery saves he made shouldn't count either, and 7 shutouts in 16 wins nahh that's not important.

  • @TheGoalieGuru I'm literally lolling at you right now

  • @TheGoalieGuru Yes nothing, he was not in between the pies.

  • @kewlnsimpguy Oh he was in between the pipes watching from the best seat in the house his defense and systems make his job easy and there are hundreds of goalies that can stop 19 per game!!!

  • @TheGoalieGuru You do understand there is such thing as dumpins to control the trap? and the only reason it was effective is because Brodeur was the best puck handeling goaltender of all time?

  • @kewlnsimpguy So why is it that the backup goalies averaged the same shots against as Brodeur?

If Brodeur was so great at it shouldn't the shot average against decrease when he was in net?

Obviously his ability to play the puck wasn't any better than the others or the shots against would drop and it didn't.

So your 'theory' is out the window.

  • @TheGoalieGuru The backup goalies didn't play even close to as much.

  • @kewlnsimpguy Average per game in hundreds of games. Nice try!!!!

  • @TheGoalieGuru Whatever magic you try to conjure up does not hide the facts, or his cups, or his wins, or his trophies. In an era when goalies wear as much padding as possible and fall into a butterfly to block as much of the net as possible, to witchhunt one of the most athletic goaltenders in this leagues history is a bit hypocritical. Deal with it.

  • @NJCUCRS Not magic! It's called GREAT defense and more importantly GREAT defensive systems!!! Dealt it!

  • Whats Up With the Star Wars in the Backround?

  • We have a great team this year, this time with a better coach. We WILL go far...

  • @AGBPic1591

Got great young players, good veterans, the best goaltender and the best coach in the league. Hopefully Zubrus, Salvador, and Oduya could get their first cup

  • I kinda wish the commissioner had mentioned Burnsie... Pat was a big reason why that team was as good as it was... I know we are all hoping and praying he makes it out alright... God bless him... we miss you Patty!

  • that sam chick....damn

but...i was there that night..best night I've ever had!

    Lets Go Devils!

  • Langenbrunner, it's your turn
