I do have to mention though that the command line stuff only works on Windows XP. Using it on Windows 7 (and I guess Windows Vista too) gives me an "open error (read)" statement after saying yes to formatting the memory stick drive.

yo i tried a vid like this to make a magic memory stick that was supposed to make my psp version 3.71 m33, it worked but when i turn on my psp it loads, i can see the time date and battery at the top right, but then it turns itself off, im gonna go to the recovery menu, enable the usb and then follow your tutorial and see if that fixxes it...

the magic memory stick is just like a regular memory stick but the magic one has files on it that lets u install custom firmware. u need the pandora battery 2 use with the magic memory stick or else u cant install CFW

all u need to do is push X and the boot will start up. if the lights on the right side of the psp turn on then its working then when the lights stop flashing you can push X and then take the battery out. It should bre hacked.
