  • bob marley never supported gay rights so get out of here with that... Bob marley was extermly relgious btw... He believed in the word

  • @kellyannabama

No one said Marley supported gay rights - just that he sang about peace and love, not about shooting people in the back of the head.

  • @lostvocals6 that gay dude in the video said that bull shit and i was stating the truth.. bob marley was not down with that bs and i was making it clear.. One love dose not support pedophila, homosexuality are other pervsions..

  • @kellyannabama

You're either a liar or stupid. The exact quote is "Bob Marely sang about one love, he never sang about shooting gay men in the head." In case you can't hear, that doesn't mean Marley supported gay rights. It means that he never addressed the issue, and certainly never called for our murder. And how dare you equate being gay with pedophilia? Bigot.

  • @lostvocals6 im also against pervsion as well i dont support murder, pedophila, homosexuality, beastility and etc....

  • @kellyannabama

Disgusting to equate homosexuality with bestiality. You are an ignorant bigot.

  • @lostvocals6 pervsion is the same all those things are pervsion and i dont support either one of them so call me what you want

  • @kellyannabama

Exactly - you're an ignorant bigot if you think all those things are the same.

  • i agree with the brother with the flag he speaks the truth

  • I'm a homosexual.

  • Politicians haven't allowed gay marriage coz they do not think it is OK !! How about protesting to put them out of a job .. EXACTLY !! u want to start with the ghetto black people

  • @HongreeHype

Are you nuts or just ignorant? There have been hundreds and hundreds of gay marriage protests and an incredible amount of activist work on the issue. We just won an extremely hard-fought battle in New York State that finally led to the legalization of gay marriage.

No one is focusing on "ghetto black people" - we are focusing on anyone who hates us, especially if they call for our murder.

  • You do not even understand the music. They speak out against hetrosexuals who do nasty stuff to. They do not hate they just do not believe in what you do.

  • @HAYxYOU

    .

Hmm...let's see..."Shoot batty boys in the back of the head" - yeah, I guess that's not hate. I must have been mistaken.

  • @marknyc9 lol good 1

  • These swine shouldn't even be in this country. Send them back where they came from.

  • hey marknyc9 check out this reggae video on gay right by mista majah p the song is call RIGHTS I THINK U WILL LOVE THIS SONG FIRST OF IT KIND BY A REGGAE ARTIST MISTA MAJAH P

  • @bangboomooo

    .

Searched for it, but couldn't find it.

  • FREE SPEECH....if you dont like it....dont listen

  • So the KKK are just expressing their views and that's ok too?

  • It's not a music concert, it's a hate rally.

  • guardian.co.uk/music/2004/sep/06/popandrock

  • @marknyc9

it has nothing to do with self hatred, its about good music

if another culture doesnt like ur lifestyle but their music is really good

that doesnt mean u cant listen to that music if u like it...

    many gays like reggae music

    check your facts

  • @nacktmulll

There are no facts to check. If you support artists who hate you and call for your murder, then you are either self-hateful or an idiot. Anyone who helps someone else make money by calling for the murder of their brothers and sisters is either completely unfeeling or too lazy to care. Either is unacceptable.

  • @marknyc9 yes, right but

1 how did u get the idea that every culture on this planet has to support your lifestyle? u have no right to expect that

2 reggae is a working class music from a third world country with a heavy machismo culture and much violence, what do u expect from them?

    sensitive gay rights ballads ?

    3. the jamaican slang is full of powerfull metaphores, when a rasta say´s

"fire pon a chichi man" it has nothing to do with murdering a gay, its just an expression of refusal, not more

  • @nacktmulll

    1. We never said that - we just want them to stop calling for our murder.

    2. Of course not - just stop singing lyrics that tell people to shoot us in the back of the head!

    3. B.S. - that same argument has been used for songs that call for violence against women. The lyrics are clear, and we will not tolerate them.

  • @marknyc9

i fully respect ur opinion but i will never stop listening to reggae

btw homophobia is a very small part of reggae lyrics, like 20%

  • @nacktmulll

And who is asking you to stop listening to reggae? Did you even watch the clip? The only thing we demand is that reggae artists stop performing songs that call for our murder. I'm sure reggae music will continue to thrive even if those hateful songs are never performed again.

  • fucking of the batty is wrong fully i dont know why these freaks love hate on the good that jah has set in place dem fe burn in hell fire

  • @sellassiekid

We don't care what you think or how much hate you spew. But if you try to kill us or urge others to, we will stop you. And we will win.

  • @marknyc9 look ppl have freedom of speeech why do u narsy ppl have bring pppl down when there just say what they as the bible says it was man an woman adan steve or lyn an june u know it is all wrong an god will deal with u so dont think that if u can go around an sexy the backside or for a woman suck a next womans pum pum is right then ur mistakinly wrong fire pon uno full stop an u will never win bout u will win come the white u crack head

  • @sellassiekid

I answer the same questions over and over and over and over again!!

Did you read even one of the posts before yours? Read at least something I've written about freedom of speech before you post!

We will never allow you to call for our murder - never. We will fight you until we win. And we will.

  • @sellassiekid BUGARY IS ILLEAGAL IN JA HMMMMMMM AND IT IS NOT RT..... THIS MUSIC WOULD NOT BE IF MEN WERE NOT SLEEPING WITH MEN AND SPREADING AIDS BACK TO WOMEN

  • @simplymisy1

Get your facts straight: 95% of HIV that is spread through sex is spread through heterosexual sex - look it up. AIDS is not a gay disease, it is a sexually transmitted disease that can be transmitted by ANYONE who has sex. And if sodomy is illegal in Jamaica, then the law needs to be changed. Both gays and straights have anal sex.

  • @marknyc9 its not hetro if the guy is gay and his wife doesnt know and save your teaching file im a rn and one more thing anal sex is illegal in the usa in many states check your facts

  • @simplymisy1

You really are ignorant, aren't you? Do you bother to check anything before you post. All U.S. laws against sodomy were overturned by the Supreme in "Lawrence v. Texas" way back in 2003. But I guess you were too busy spewing hate to notice.

Get a life, learn something, and leave us alone.

  • @simplymisy1

Thats incorrect. It was all legalized in the 60's.

  • i think everyone have the rite to speak their minds, and if gays got that rite too Jamaicans have the rite to say what they want, their are so many other problems in this world and this what people are worried about poverty, crime such as on just on poor people, some countries don't have clean water, some government people miss use their power, plz

  • @cool87cats

    .

Yeah, I guess you're right. Gays being murdered on the streets of Jamaica is not something we should be concerned about - who cares if people are killed just because they love someone of the same sex?

BTW, no one's asking for any government power here - we wanted the concert organizers to stop booking artists who call for the murder of gays. And we will continue to demand that, as long as Jamaican singers ask people to kill us.

  • What does the first amendment say about inciting murder?

  • Doesn't this infringe upon not only free speech but artistic license? i mean Dr Dre and Ice Cube did a great song song called 'natural born killers' and nobody in their right mind took it to mean kill anybody. What next next, book banning? And i have never seen Stacy Ann Chin on the right side of any argument...

  • Does anyone ever take the time to read the comments below?? I have answered this question a dozen times. Look at the answer directly below!

And below that, I've commented many times that many studies show a direct link between hate speech and actual violence.

  • I apologize for not having the time to wade thru a hundred messages. As far as "studies" honestly you can get a "study" to show anything you want (or commission) it to, I could get a study to show the moon is made of green cheese.

  • Hundreds of messages? How about the one directly before yours?

And if you really think there's no link whatsoever between calls for the murder of gays and actual violence against gays, you're living on another planet.

In the end, we don't have to prove anything. We will not tolerate anyone calling for our murder. Period.

  • What happened to freedom of speech? Straight people have the rights to disagree with faggots

  • Learn the Constitution before you discuss it.

The First Amendment prevents the government (not people or corporations) from restricting speech.

And it doesn't allow you to yell, "Fire!" in a crowded theater. Speech that is dangerous can be stopped, and businesses can certainly require that hate speech not be uttered on their premises.

As long as you call for our murder, we will do everything in our power to stop you. And we're winning - concerts have been canceled all over the world.

  • Listen you freak of nature, homos will never win. Good over evil at all times, and guess what? faggost are Satan Children. It may seem like the faggots are winning but it will never happened. Have you ever heard of Sodom and Gomorrah? It is real and faggots have a lot more coming. we will never stop rebuking faggots and their nasty livity

  • Love will always defeat hate, which is obviously what you are spewing.

  • @alllove4u18 Your bronze age superstition is on the decline and will soon cease to exist and rationality will prevail!

  • mi cant believe batty boys still talking bout boom bye bye that tune was a long bloodclt time ago, as for him talking bout bob marley you seh bob marley would be against gays as him was a rasta man. If you nah like what them sing about dont listen simple

  • As you would see if you read earlier posts, he still performs "Boom Bye Bye" at concerts. And Bob Marley never said anything against gays.

If someone was urging whites to kill blacks, would you just not listen? If you had any guts, you'd protest.

  • him nah perform that tune in 4 years, theres music out there saying kill blacks i man just ignore it cos its not made for I and I dont like it so me nah listen. Just becasue Bob Marley never said anything bout gays dont mean him wasnt against them if him wasnt against them then hin nah a real rasta. The music is not made for you so dont listen simple. do what you haffi do behind closed doors but admit its not natural dont tell the yutes its normal

  • He has sung it, as recently as last year. We have proof of that. There is good evidence that these songs lead directly to violence against gays, even murder. We will never sit by and let that happen, no matter where it occurs. We will fight you with every breath in our bodies.

And I'm sorry, you are not a spokesperson for Bob Marley, no matter what you think.

  • You know damn well if a bunch of white bands had lyrics saying "kill niggers, shoot them in the head" people would be outraged and it would definitely not be heard and celebrated in a mainstream sense there's no excuse for hate. period.

  • I love staceyann chin, she's the bomb. Also, I'm not gonna support these artists unless they do something to apologize for their lyrics. i can understand a young guy growing up in a society where people have a negative attitude towards homosexuality, thats one thing. But for these guys to be grown ass men and know exactly what they're doing by calling for violence and shit is inexcusable.

  • LMAO!!! They stll talking bout boom bye bye that song is almost 20 years old now , talk about ancient history lol damn.

  • Not so. He still performs it at concerts.

  • Buju banton is gay . a guy spilled he beans in jamaica.

  • these 30 people protesting, doubt its that much, just want to be on tv

  • I organized the protest. It was done only after negotiations to stop the performance failed. We would much rather have not had to do the protest at all.

  • bob marley sed man to ras man is so unjust

    fire

  • Anyone who said the line "man to man is so unjust" is an anti-gay statement is a fool. He was clearly saying that people act unjustly towards one another - nothing about gays.

  • the reporter says" burn the chi chi mon" lol

  • I have been listening to reggae music for 30 years and this music has never incited violence against gay ppl for me. I have gay friends and I have absolutely no problem with that

  • when reggae artists say 'Bun Chi Chi man' or 'Bun Batty Bwoy' it really means use fire as a purifying element to help these people change their gay ways as stated in the Bible. When Christians use water to baptize and cleanse people of their sins doesn't mean you have to drown people does it

  • And what does it mean when they say to shoot us in the back of the head? I'm glad you have gay friends, but the fact is that violence against gays in Jamaica is widespread and this music must be stopped.

  • I am with you marknyc9 people are too easily swayed by outside forces; music, images and yes, propaganda sexual in nature that endorses or villifies a person's sexual orientation. We as humans are heavy handed and extreme in our habits, so if no one respects gays, women or blacks for that matter, human nature will flare up to destroy what is not endorsed. Everyone loves hip-hop now and interracial dating is at an all time high. People will/can change.Love and leave the gays alone.

  • and is how yu gwaaan stop it chi chi fish??..yu nuh go silence di whole a wi..any sound string up a yard nuff man pan mike chat6 fi bun out di fish di chi chi batty bwoys and is nevah gwaan stop trus mi pan dat.

  • We'll stop it because love will always triumph over hate. People like you will not win.

  • mi nuh tink seh unno even unnerstan a wha mi did seh....yu cyaaan stop di whole a we from what we chant...boycott we rum an we red stripe,we nuh care..yu tink seh we 'a island in the sun''??.we a island with a gun an all a di renking batty bwoy inna we sights.. now galong fish bwoy..we nuh need yu and yu stinking aids

  • I understand you. We can stop you and we will stop you. As I said, love will always defeat hate.

  • an is wha yu ago do,go dun west kingston an rat a tat pan studio door, tell dem nuh go mek nuh more batty bwoy lyrix??.cho chi chi yu nuh get 10 steps an man will lick unno dun..

mek mi tell unno dis is friday a come an all ovah mi island sound a string up an run boom bye bye lyrix all night long and so it stay fi all time..

no fish man cyaaan test di yout an dem ways..

  • There are many ways to fight these hate-filled artists. While we can't stop them from performing in Jamaica, we have been successful in getting many of their concerts in the U.S. and the U.K. cancelled. Until they agree to stop performing these songs, we will protest and get their gigs cancelled - which has cost them a ton of money already!

  • Gosh, he's right about Bob Marley.

I'd love to make love to Stacey-Ann Chin.

  • Shit like this makes me ashamed to be half black. Black people are so fucking stupid. They complain about people having predjudices against them, then THEY turn around and have predjudices against a group.

  • dumbest shit ive ever read ,you do realize there a 100s of millions of black ppl of hundreds if not thousands of different ethnicities ,with hundreds of different cultures and traditions and values dont u? ,you're statement is so ignorant ,it holds no value, if you hate your blackness that much get some ambi cream and rub hard try to get that xtra negro off ya. you act like anti-gay issues is limited to black ppl , find a nice bridge aim for the rocks and jump

  • We really need to find a cure for homosexuality. There should be more money spent on this research. If there really is a gay gene we need to find it and eradicate it from the face of the planet so we won't ever have to deal with homosexuality. Stop supporting gays! The only positives that homosexuals ever contributed to society is the positives on STD tests. They should be isolated from the rest of society and studied by scientists and psychologists to find out what exactly is wrong with them

  • Let's see:

Sappho, Socrates, Plato, Alexander The Great, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Sir Francis Bacon, Peter the Great, Hans Christian Andersen, Henry David Thoreau, Walt Whitman

Tchaikovsky, Oscar Wilde, Marcel Proust, Willa Cather, W. Somerset Maugham, Gertrude Stein, Virginia Woolf, T.E. Lawrence, Jean Cocteau, Cole Porter, Alan Turing

Yeah, I guess you're right - gays and lesbians have never contributed anything to society.

  • Well based on your facts it appears that homosexuality started by the white race .

  • No, those are just the first examples I found.

Homosexuality is well-documented in traditional African cultures. To read a scholarly thesis on this, do a Google search for:

Homosexuality in Traditional Sub-Saharan Africa and Contemporary South Africa

  • I dont agree with gay violence. But why are we just focusing on the gay violence in music. I hear songs everyday about people getting killed. Lets not just work on wiping out homophobic lyrics, how about all lyrics promoting violence against anyone. We all are human and we all bleed the same, and there are too many double standards in the world. If we take out one source of violence, lets take them all out. Be real. Its not just gays being attacked in songs. But u aint hear this from me though.

  • The protesters did call for an end to violent lyrics in all types of music and carried signs stating that. The news media focused only on this concert, however.

  • stacyann is beautiful. i dont care if shes gay. but wow natural beauty

  • where do u even start with this? I guess a statement like 'the only good nigga is a dead nigga swinging at the end of a noose' should also be defended as free speech protected under the 1st amendment?black ppl goin after gay ppl is the end of civil rights for EVERY1... the conservative Right sits back & watches with a new hope & joy abounding...

  • The songs which are being protested about call for the murder of gay and lesbian people rasmikass you thick piece of shit!!! That is the point which has been explained a million times but as you keep on doing it we will keep on defending ourselves from your bile!! And if that means getting you banned then so be it. Now what part of that can't you understand you fucking retard??

  • Fire bun these batty people! When InI say that it is a call for JAH fire , not a call for people to do violence! This shit is batty boys riding in on the coat tails of the black civil rights movement. If it wasnt for black people s struggle's gays would have no rights! Now them come like vampires trying to suck our blood.Rastafari and reggae have burned gays from the start. InI rastafari follow levitcus! It says gays must be put to death! Can I now not stand in a park and read the bible aloud?

  • When a song calls for someone to shoot gays in the back of the head, I think that qualifies as violence.

No one says you can't read the bible in a park - but if you sing a song calling for people to be murdered, expect those people to try to stop you.

Speaking of Leviticus, do you not wear clothes made of more than one fabric? (Lev. 19:19)

Do you not cut your hair nor shave? (Lev. 19:27)

Do you believe people who have flat noses cannot go to an altar of God? (Lev. 21:17-18)

    Get real.

  • The music nor the Holy Bible is meant to be taken literally.. it's an expressive form of art that really is a part of the artist's intentions. When you read a poem do you read it literally? If you did then you would miss the whole point, even more, the reason the artist would create the piece of art, therefore rendering it worthless. Reggae artist Buju Banton is an expressive individual promoting peace and love. Probably you have not heard more of his music but if that's so, listen to this...

  • There's no "art" here. I take these words literally:

Boom bye bye inna batty bwoy head (Gunshot in a queer's head)

Dem haffi dead (They have to die)

Send fi di matic an di Uzi instead (Send for the automatic gun and the Uzi)

Shoot dem no come if we shot dem (Shoot them, don't help if we shoot them)

Guy come near we then his skin must peel (If a man comes near me, then his skin must peel (pour acid over him)

Burn him up bad like an old tire wheel

  • lol you dont have to translate i understand the lyrics very well.. as for the art i would have to disagree... i mean would you take every poet in the world literal?? if that's the case then you're missing the art.. in any case what about music like heavy metal, in which those violent lyrics target whomever.. where is the protest against that kind of music? and you have some of the lyrics wrong.. its "shoot dem now come meck we shot dem dead" search cowboys and curfew- buju - great song

    1 Love

  • I wasn't translating for you - lol - I did it for the non-Jamaican visitors to this clip.

The fact remains that gays and lesbians are being murdered in the streets of Jamaica, so I don't see any "art" in songs that glorify that. I guess "one world, one love" didn't really mean that either, huh?

And we have protested ALL kinds of anti-gay music - I was at an eminem protest when he was gay-bashing. We will fight back whenever we are attacked - you can be sure of that!

  • Look up U.S. sodomy laws and leave Jamaica out of your protest. It is considered a crime of nature to be homosexual in parts of the U.S.. Sodomy laws cover homosexuals because how else are you guys going to be intimate.

  • At least make some effort to get your facts correct before you post. U.S. sodomy laws were struck down by the Supreme Court in 2003. You never heard about a decision that was handed down over five years ago? Do your homework.

  • Some states still try to enforce their sodomy laws. There are countries where you can get 4 years in jail for Sodomy.

  • Any such attempts have been overruled, since all sodomy laws were deemed unconstitutional.

The Supreme court wrote: "The state cannot demean [homosexuals'] existence or control their destiny by making their private sexual conduct a crime." The decision stated that the Court's support of anti-sodomy laws 17 years ago "was not correct when it was decided, and it is not correct today."

The fact that other countries have backward laws is no reason to avoid protests here in the U.S.

  • free speach meand you can say whatever you want. those gays sure know how to bother other people all the time! is it me or it seems like gays are running all over the place trying to make us accept their lifestyle?

  • It's tiring to have people make the same wrong arguments over and over. Didn't you read any of the earlier comments? Freedom of Speech does not include the right to yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater. Of course, gays will fight back when people call for their murder! Wouldn't you?

  • oh, so its ok 4 gay people to say they wanna be gay and turn there nose up at str8 ppl, but its not ok for str8 ppl 2 turn their noses up at being gay..wat ever.....get over yourselves....

  • Gays don't perform songs urging other gays to murder str8 ppl.

  • yeah i was there, but c'mon freedom of speech. it was f'ed up they barely let buju sing "boom bye, bye", they kept cutting off his microphone. but come thats their culture y'all know that

  • Freedom of Speech does not include the right to yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater. If we don't protest when people call for our murder, then we don't deserve to be safe. He promised not to sing "Boom Bye Bye" and then tried to - what a liar. And any "culture" that advocates the killing of innocent people needs to change.

  • wata prick

im not bein racist because i am a quarter black

but usa, uk etc are white countries originally so if people dont like it why are they going there?? i cant understand..

and if a white person said 'aww why are black people controlling this that and the other' there would be a big hoohar about racism! Black people always seem to get away with racism easily, when its white people who own their country

  • Freedom of speech means that no one can restrict your speech, not just government. If concert promoters want to pay for musicians to sing their songs they can do that.

You want to know what BS is? The fact that you think that "You're born in wrong body" or "I was born this way".. now that is BS. Everyone is born as equals. You don't come to this world as a fag, it's you're choice to be one.

  • I do agree that reggae and dancehall music is more hateful than it was before. But that is just what current society does. Makes people hate other people. Reggae still promotes peace, one love, unity of all people.

But that doesn't mean that Rasta's have to tolerate people acting against other principals of them. And they have the right to express it to others. "Shooting us in the back of head".. yes that's kinda what songs say, but songs have never been taken literally.

  • Damn, cool down for once. Actually I agree that there shouldn't be any violent acting. But I also agree that people should have freedom of speech and expression.

I don't care if you screw your brother after every lunch. But trying to make the whole world think it's OK.. that's whole another thing.

All Buju, Bounty, Shabba and others did was sing. Trying to discourage people being gay - which is a good thing.

All I'm saying is that I don't want my grandson to be gay because of some fag protesting

  • im so dissapointed by this, I am black myself and british born however I am really ANGRY that people who sing HATEFUL reggae think they have the right. when the slave trade was on years ago and people were being treated disgusting and now some jamaicans think they can treat gay/lesbian people disgusting is STILL EXACTLY THE SAME THING, PREDJUDICE not peaceful music. I DONT WANT TRASH LIKE THT HERE IN THE UK USA or wher n e civalised countrys can here it. Bob Marley was the legend he sang peace

  • We don`t forget either.

  • Excuse me, there is NO WAY I would support a God who sides with a majority group in society attacking a group of people. You all can honestly have a God like that. Truth is, the Bible is NOT anti gay. Truth is, man has put his interpretations into it.

  • Lev 20:13

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.

  • Ok, but you are using that passage against a group of people in 2007. Today, we understand the meaning of sexual orientation. That passage holds no meaning than someone quoting a passage to support slavery, which the Bible truly supported the slavery of black people. Therefore, you can quote Bible passages all you want. "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman." Do gay people 'lieth with a woman?'

  • People during Biblical times did not know the meaning of 'sexual orientation.' We first developed an understanding of sexual orientation during the 1800s. During Biblical times, everyone was assumed to be heterosexual. Although people engaged in gay sex, they assumed that everyone was straight. Therefore, Leviticus did not take into consideration that some folks did not 'lieth with a woman,' because THEY WERE NATURALLY GAY. People were ignorant about sexual orientation.

  • Firstly, you said there are nothing in bible thay is anti-gay. I pointed out there is.. now you're saying that people wasn't aware of sexual orientation back then? Well, it looks like they were if there is a quote of that in bible..

Secondly, the quote does not say that "Once you get down with a woman and AFTER THAT do it with a another man is sin".. It says that if a man f*cks another man the way man and woman supposed to do, then they both should be killed.

  • Homosexuality is mental disorder. Anyone promoting or defending it is a foolish, ignorant being who can't look the big picture.

Homosexuality is a disease, it shall be cured, until there is no medicine for that, only cure is a piece of metal with a diameter of 9mm..

  • The only disease here, MentalClinic, is your bigoted and primitive mentality. The only thing that needs to be cured is your ignorance AND arrogance.

  • honestly you should take that part and swipe your ass.

  • Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.

    (Continued on next post)

  • When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. How should I deal with this?

I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as it suggests in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

    (continued)

  • I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

Lev. 25:44 states that I may buy slaves from the nations that are around us. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans but not Canadians. Can you clarify?

  • I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself? A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 10:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

  • Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die? I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

  • My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev 20:14)

  • Lev. 20:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear prescription glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

  • Why would you be with a woman who has her period and will not tell you.

  • I wouldn't be with a woman at all. Personally, I don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die.

  • LOL thats too funny

  • EVERYBODY forget what the Bible says about false prophets and people that think they represent God, when in fact, they don't! Look, EVERYBODY kill and persecute in the name of GOD. Are you all surprise that people have used GOD's words to persecute a gay minority? This is what mankind do to each other; we use God's name to hate and persecute anyone that is different. If it's a GOD that will support a group attacking another group, there is no one I would worship a God like that.

  • What gives black people the right to be anti anything?? Less than 50 years ago they were in the gay people's shoes... so how in the hell can they spread hate on another minority??

  • you mad It has nothing to do with color The gay people are being helped because then they stop messing there ass and turn the right way.

  • you're right it has absolutely nothing to do with color, it has to do with equal rights. Blacks fought for equal rights because they were human beings....Gay people are human beings and they deserve equasl rights too. And how are they being helped?? There are people out there killing people over $25, nonsense stuff...What about the violence in schools?? That is hurting our children. No jobs is hurting America, lack of healthcare thereof, etc...

  • This is the matter of culture and respect. I can understand that the culture of Jamaica differs from european or american one. But the artists have to respect the culture of America regards to gay people. They sing here, this country gave permission to live, sign or whatever else. Have respect to inviting country. This is education which some people have a lack.Lyric with any intend to kill someone is unrespect totally.

  • The Jamaican proformers are singing about their culture. A song becomes famous in Jamaica it comes to the U.S. because someone from the U.S. hears it and when you relize what it is saying you can not believe it. This is the same like going to a foriegn restaurant and ordering food you know nothing about the dish until you really really study about it.

  • Have you seen what they do to gays in the Middle East it is worse. Our soldiers are there.

  • Sex in Jamaica is different. That is where all this confusion is happening. Jamaicans have songs denouncing oral sex. It is a government thing not a music thing in Jamaica. Police officers in Jamaica sometimes watch on then stop the beating. They then can arrest the gay person. The Middle East is worse our soldiers are over there.

  • Well they can keep it in Jamaica and respect the cultures of other countries when they travel to them.

  • I think when they are not in Jamaica some are trying but it is hard for them because of how the proformers were brought up.

  • I have to tell you Jamaicans do not only do these things to Gays they also beat men who are child molester if fact they will chop a molester up. Men have been killed for seriously harming their wives. They also go after common thieves. It is a different place.

  • The thing with Jamaica if you understand their culture you can be any color. Race does not matter it is only the gay issue. If you really dig deep into Jamaican history Jamaica is sacred grounds not only for those who live there but for many others oversees. Allot of Jamaicans are Penticostal that religion gives no room for being gay and most Jamaicans are penticostal apostolic.

  • The fact that they are Pentecostal does not give them the right to commit murder. Religion is the #1 excuse for people to behave like animals and that has got to stop.

  • Jamaicans feel the whole thing with Sodom and Gomorrah happened exclusively because of the citizens there being Gay. Every country have there beliefs some much worse. Why not protest swear words in the United States. In Jamaica it is against the law to record and proform in public swear words.

  • They should be protesting curss words in public places. America is not going to take the lyrics serious it is not part of their culture. People just do not understand.

  • if you dont understand the culture then dont listen to the music. no one takes the music literally, why dont you do some research and find out which cultures are really beating up and killing gays. its not the jamaicans. look in your own backyard and stop trying to kill reggae music!

  • Eat shit rastamon. If I wrote a song called "Run the nigger over with a big pickup truck" You're saying that you would be OK with that? No...you wouldn't, because it is ignorant and just plain wrong. Reggae music has made a target of themselves and we will defend ourselves fervently against it.

  • Being gay is not the same as being a different color. In Jamaica it is unlawful to proform curse words in public. In america curse words are the norm. Jamaica is a different culture.

  • Being gay is exactly the same thing as being a different color. Nobody chooses to be gay we just are and there is nothing that anyone can do about it.

  • All I know is that sexually tendencies can be changed someone skin color can not. That is my belief I have no respect for someone who puts them in the same category. You have a choice the same way you go to the doctor for birth control to be more like a woman the smae way you can go to get medicine to be more like a man it is a choice. I personally do not care but do not compare color and sex together.

  • You obviously know nothing about sexual orientation. It cannot be changed. And even if it could, no one has the right to call for the murder of gays.

  • Sexual preference can not be changed. I can not turn straight any more than a real straight person can turn gay. There are many bisexuals who have choices but true gays and true straights are stuck with the sexuality that nature gave them, and the know that.

  • Hey Extrafabulous,

WTF? Do you think that if people could CHOOSE their sexuality then the entire world would be straight? Who would CHOOSE THIS? Who wants to go through life being harrassed, ostrisized, and treated like 2nd class citizens by bigots like you who are intimidated by any gay man or lesbian who won't sit at the back of the bus? FCKN MORON!

  • Great to have this news coverage. Of course, the freedom of speech argument that these homophobes conveniently trot out is just a cover for their hateful attitudes AND their support for violence against gays. Another argument that they use is that the whole thing is "cultural" based and merely metaphorical. I understand every word of those songs -- they are ugly, violent verses whose only objective is to encourage hatred of a group that is fearful of responding.

  • the first amendment does indeed protect free speech. but this right extends until such speech threatens the life and limb of others. one can scream fire at home, but to do so in a crowded place is indeed a crime and hasn't any protection under free speech. elephant man, TOK, vybz kartel, bounty killer and of course good aole buju have refused to sign the reggae compassion act.

  • Good for you guys. I remember being in high school when Boom Bye Bye came out, and I remember it being sung in my face as a taunt, constantly. Lyrics from it were actually allowed to stand as a students "senior quote" in my yearbook. These artists are reprehensible.

  • There were a number of organizations present. Marknyc9, thank you very much, for posting this information.

  • was this just the queer justice league or were other organizations present?

  • GMAD, GLAAD, POCC and NGLTF were also there.
