It already is. In the opening credits.

  • Awesome work.....superb cam and editing and brilliant destruction...excellent!

Just gonna check out your other animations.

  • This is absolutely amazing... Thank you for this... and the dancing Godzilla at the end is CLASSIC ... I use DAZ 3D and I know what kind of work went into this. Brilliant!

  • awsome but godzilla walks weirdly

  • Awesome job. Maybe make Godzilla bigger.

  • I dont mean to be picky on the animationor anything, but isnt Godzilla suppost to be bigger. Other then that, very nice job. both endings were funning

when i was around 6 (and completely obsessed with godzilla) my dad showed me this song and i have loved it ever since

  • awesome movie, but Godzilla should have been a lot bigger. It looks like his baby.

  • cool.

  • 3:28 Airwolf! XD

  • Great, but Godzillas a little small.

  • I can't say anything but couldn't you have scaled the godzilla model a little higher he could be bigger..but the end was very clever and overall great work not hating at all A++

  • godzilla is the size of king kong wtf?

  • LOL!

    Very nice!

  • lol this was ausome and very funny 5 stars

  • Nice web site. I liked your animations. You've got talent.

  • Very cool animation.

I see a bit of 'Particle Illusion' at work there too.

    Nice. :)

I've been playing around with Scott's GiNO mesh while I build my own (I'm doing the Bio-Goji).

Check out my channel and have a look at the Gino animation.

BTW - I like the camera work you've done in this.

    :)

  • About nine months of my spare time (nights and week ends). Just an animation hobbyist.

  • Uhm, ok?

    LOL!

I think that message may have been meant for somebody other than me. I liked what you did and being a Cg animator (also a hobby thing with me) I know how much time these things can take.

I even understand why the Godzilla was the size it was. LOL!

I still think this is a very cool animation.

    :)

  • Sorry. You're right. That was meant in reply to a message (above) from gheith001.

  • @TMitche22 GODZILLA GODZILLA GODZILLA GODZILLA GODZILLA

  • reminds me of Clover Field :D

  • nice job! although, isn't godzilla, like, a godzillian times larger than that? good vid though

  • See my comment to the post below.

Also, I was limited in how big I could make him because my wimpy animation program wouldn't allow me to make him bigger and still fit him walking down the streets of the 3D model city buildings without the two merging together, and I couldn't animate the building models being destroyed by Godzilla walking into them, so I had to shrink him to fit the city model. Sorry about that.

  • thats alroght. even so, how long did it take you to make this?

  • you made godzilla like 3 storeys high there just times that by like 25 and there you go.

  • Yes, yes, I know, I know. (Sigh.) There have been many loyal G-fans who have pointed out that he is too small. But, as I have explained previously just as many times, that's the way the small boy in this story imagined the toy Godzilla to be. Took me nine months to make this animation, so I hope my error didn't take away from your enjoyment of it, as I had fun making it for people to enjoy.

  • its still good. what did u make it with

  • Glad you enjoyed it.

The software program I used is called "Poser" by SmithMicro.

Another person who uses Poser to make 3D models (the Scott Ayers, to whom I credited in the opening and closing of the animation) made that model and it reminded me of the funky old toy Godzilla from times gone by, and I always liked BOC's "Godzilla" song, so I animated his model to their song.

BTW, BOC liked the animation, and I'm sure it pops in their minds whenever they tour and perform it.

  • is it free

  • No, Poser costs a few hundred dollars, but that's a few thousand dollars cheaper from most other animation programs.

  • LOL...Godzilla vs. Airwolf! I guess not even Stringfellow Hawke could dodge Godzilla's bad breath.

  • Fucking awesome man. Good job.

  • i loved it!

  • godzilla is 100 meters tall you retard

  • Assuming you can read at all, read at least a couple of posts down for an explanation as to why the version of Godzilla depicted in this animation is small. And look in the mirror the next time you childishly call someone a retard.

  • My 8 year old son lovessssss Godzilla an he thinks this is a awesome video. He found it on his own and has watched it several times and shared it with friends to watch.

  • Cool. I'm glad he enjoyed it, as it was intended to be what a young boy imagined might happen if the Godzilla toy came to life.

(And this is why the Godzilla in this story is not 30 or more stories high, as this is not what the young boy saw in his imagination. So true "G" fans who complain about his size or the way he walks or whatever, you're right, but this story was not intended to be an accurate depiction of Godzilla, but only of a toy come to life in a boy's imagination.)

  • He says he would loved to see alot more similar to this.

  • dude u no that godzillas suppose 2 b 30 or 50 storys high

  • That was freaking AMAZING! Other than a few beefs with his height, and waddling, and a couple other tiny things like that it is just shy of perfect! I laughed at the part where he dodged the missles and popped his kneck, and loved the whole thing. keep up the AMAZING work, man!

  • its funny when the barneys are watching the toasted barney

  • oh dear how destructive ;)

  • that nuclear bomb didnt do much

  • the military in there is retarded

  • Rook! It Godzirra! He's destloying the city!

  • that's racist

  • The end was hilarious :P

  • Well done. Fun to watch!

  • check out extreme dare dummies. Its just people who get in pane.

  • I love the nuke and they miss

  • its really funny how barney sounds so dull in the ending, lol

  • Really cool animation. The only thing that REALLY bugged me was how small he was. Hes taller than the Eiffel Tower

  • good stuff,I liked it

  • cool added to my faves

  • AWSOME!

  • hey tmitche22,

you did great. i was just watching some godzilla movies on my pc and wanted to do a search for godzilla in poser.

i use poser 7 but i have never attempted to animate with it.

  • Thank kindly for the compliment, Lighthammer66. It took me about nine months to make this in Poser 5. Poser 7 makes animating a tad bit easier, but it's the looooong render times that are the killer, so a fast machine (which I don't have, mine is over 8 years old) is important. I have absolutely no computer graphics or animation training and learned as I went, proving anyone with the patience can animate.

  • im a godzilla expert too but did you have to make his that small

  • The credits are a nice touch.

  • and godzilla dosent shoot fire.

  • YEAH HE DOES! IM A GOJIRA EXPERT! NOOB! sorry if that sounded mean but still.

  • It is good but why have you made godzilla so small.

  • pretty good, but why does he waddle?

  • I used a low-end program that is not know for its ease of animation at all. It's called Poser (I used the older Version 5). I used a program called ParticleIllusion for the special effects (fire, explosions, etc.) and edited it all in Adobe Premiere.

  • wow how did you make that?witch program?

  • Fantastic.

    Really.

I have a Gojira animated short film I'm currently animating with Carrara and Lightwave.

I really enjoyed this and a lot of it had to do with the way you used the camera.

    Thanks for sharing this.

  • Thank you for the compliment.

I know I messed up a lot of stuff that offends some true G-fans, but I got so focused on trying to figure out how to animate stuff (being my first time and it's very difficult) that it just ended up the way it did.

I wish you all the best in doing your animation.

  • pretty good

  • if you people think its bad

have them try making something better

  • I LIKE THAT GODZILLA SKIN

  • godzilla doesnt spit fire but cool vid

  • Yes, I know, but that's the way the little boy in this animated story imagined it, so that's the way it is. (Besides, I had cool effects for fire, but not for making Godzilla's "atomic breath", so that's what I was stuck with doing.)

  • yeah he does! he spat atomic breath!

  • well whatever i still think its that super atomic breath he used on kieser ghidorah at the end of godzilla final wars

  • i still think its super atomic breath like from godzilla final wars

  • i knew it, designing all of the buildings and what-not takes a quite a while, right?

  • I did close to none of the designing of any of the 3D models (don't know how). I used stuff made by others (purchased and freebies). What took the time was arranging things (models, lighting, camera angles, etc.) for each scene and animating it, creating the special effects (explosion, etc.), getting the sound effects, combining everything in an animation editing program, etc. All very time consuming, especially given that I didn't have a clue what I was doing most of the time.

  • wow. but still, that DID take a long time. I probably can't do that, until i'm way older!

  • You're never too young (or old, like me) to learn how to do this stuff. All it takes is wanting to learn to do it bad enough. Go for it, and you just might be surprised at what you can accomplish.

  • True, I might just learn that. You never know when I will such a thing!

  • Awesome!!!! This probably took you a while to do all the 3D stuff, right? Godzilla rules all!!!!!! Barney is no good

  • Thank you kindly for the compliment. Glad you enjoyed it.

Yes, took nearly nine months to do (including three months lost trying to recover files from a computer crash).

Yep, Barney got his due in the end, eh?

  • what kind of software did you use?

  • The 3D animation elements were composed and animated in a low-end program not known for its ease of animation capabilities. It's called "Poser" and now is sold by a company called "SmithMicro". The special effects (fire, explosions, etc.) were done in a program called "Particle Illusion" by a company called "Wondertouch". It's a very easy program to learn and use. Every thing was edited, including the sounds and music, in Adobe Premiere.

  • Wow, that was pretty sweet. I love how there was death and destruction in a care-free child's imagination! lol I might be getting into animation soon, so I'm kinda envying you right now XD. 5/5

  • Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it more than Barney did.

Yeah, little boy's imaginations are sometimes like that.

My advice for getting into animation is just do it. This was only my second one (the first was just a test.) I learned it by just trying out different things to see what worked and what didn't. I still know close to nothing about animation, except that it was hard but fun to do. But Pixar Studios has nothing to worry about from me.

  • Thanks a lot for the advice! For knowing next to nothing about it, you sure do a good job (much like when I first started composing music, so I've been told it was good). Keep at it!

  • Barney is now toasted. LOL

  • the kid probaly was imagining how his dad walked the previous night when he went to the bar LOL!!

  • godzilla looks drunk and tiny still 5 stars though

  • Yeah, I guess that crazy little boy has a funny way of imagining the toy Godzilla looking like in motion.

    Thank you for the rating.

  • Barney, you are an embarrassment to our species!

  • Godzilla is the king of the monster.

  • barneys going to feel that in the mornin.

  • hey pause it and read da fbi warning IS HILARIOUS!!

HEY ALSO CHECK OUT POKEMON DANCE EDITION!!!!

  • I agree with zertake this is awesome!

  • u need to make him bigger

    next time

  • i think this is one of the coolest godzilla vids on youtube

  • Thank you, zertake.

I was inspired to do this animation (which was my very first such undertaking ever, and took many moths of my free time), by the song "Godzilla" and the fact that I think Godzilla is just damn cool. I'm glad that so many people have liked watching it.

  • i love the song, and the vid!

  • Me too. It's what inspired me to try to do tis in the first place.

  • cool video

  • Thank you. I am delighted you enjoyed it. I was tedious but fun to make.

  • why is he so tiny and green and shoots flame?

  • Because he's not Godzilla. He's the Hasbro Godzilla toy who comes to life in a little boy's imagination, and the boy just happens to picture him this way.

  • Actully he would be from Bandi.

  • this is awesome

  • Well it's still good enough I gave it 4 stars.

  • Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Did the best I could given the limitations of my tools and skills (it's my first animation attempt).

  • I WAS going to give you 5 stars but the only problems are: 1.Godzilla is not green except the first milleinum one which I don't think that one is . 2. He doesn't shoot fire breath. 3. He way to small. 4 You made him walk like a retard. Other than that it's a very good video. Especially the barney part lol :P

  • I do not have any CGI effects to resemble Godzilla's "atomic breath", and the only 3D models of buildings that I have on hand (I did this as a hobby and do not have much money to spend on such things) limited me to having Godzilla be small enough to fit between the buildings on the street, or else he would have "visually merged" with the buildings.

  • Plus, the animation was only intended to reflect a boy's imagination inspired from his finding the Mattel Godzilla toy, not an attempt to duplicate Toho Studios version.

  • best godzilla vid on youtube i have 5 but you realy treid thats all that matters and glooper01 shut up

  • theres this plugin in after effects, where theres a beam which is very close to godzilla's.

  • Cool. Thanks for the info. Do you know what the name of that plugin is? If I redo this animation, I could use it (and make everyone happy by making Godzilla bigger, etc.).

  • I think it is trapcode shine. Although IMO the video is fine as it is,its just your version of it.

  • Yeah, I've got that one.

And thank you for appreciating the fact that my version (actually, it's the little boy's imagined version of what the toy Godzilla might act and look like in action) is OK too.

  • I did enjoy it. Good effort :)!

  • WOW that was funny. I loved it when Godzilla at the end roasted Barney. He looked as if to say love this (ROASTED). If you do another one I agree with boomingkiller111 make it GZiller vs Kinky Kongo.

  • Minila at 1:27!

  • Lol, Toys R Us is getting bankrupt! Lol, for a moment there, it looked as if the three Barneys were going to beat up Godzilla!

  • smart going for toy to realy g very nice godzilla is a lil small but its all good. nice work!

  • Godzilla is 20 times that size silly!

  • cool vid, but godzillas a little small, no?

  • Good use of Poser. I like the size of Godzilla as you showed it. It makes the Air Force look like they over reacted and nuked the city while Godzilla waltzes on. Great direction, timing and sense of humor.

I only wish G. did a moonwalk move, swung his tail around over his head, and bounced in the air on his tail with his legs in the air! But again, this aint a dance video or air guitar competition..

  • omg he killed barney u basterd

  • ok there are only 3 problems

    1 godzillas green

2 hes breathing fire not atomic breath

    3 he way to small

  • Are u blind he is brething fire!!

  • godzilla does not breath fire it is atomic breath!!

and if u call me blind again your blocked

  • you just sound like that he should breath fire, and not atomic breath. and I don't f***ing care if u block me!

  • As I've stated previously, this animation was not intended to accurately represent to G-Fans a realistic version of Godzilla, but is the story of a small boy imagining what the toy Godzilla might do. No accounting for his imagination.

  • r u doing a sequel

  • It was not my intent to do a sequel, as it takes too long to do one of these on my old home PC. However, I've been asked to do the animation on a story being written by someone else about Gojira, and I've already completed the trailer/teaser that should get posted to YouTube soon.

  • A green Godzilla toy. I take it they are in the USA then.

  • I personally liked the cameos by Blue Thunder and Airwolf :)

  • Very impressive video.

    Godzilla is too small though.

  • the animation is awesome but i wouldent give two thumbs

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HAHAHA!GODZILLA BURNED BARNEY

  • lol great vid dude

  • I'm currently uploading said video and it relates to godzilla.

  • Cool stuff. Work on that cool video effect and I'll try to work on the next level of music.

  • AWEXOME VID!!!!!!!!!!!!

would it be okay if I used your FBI warning on a vid?I'll give you credit and tell everyone to watch your video?

  • Sure thing. Go for it.

    Glad you like the animation.

  • Thanks, I really liked how you made the animation go with the song, like godzilla picking up the bus right when they said it in the song. I can tell you worked very hard, and I think this is better than the movies!!!

  • yes godzila is small but it was great good job you should do more about this topic

  • lol the ending was funny lol

  • yeah BARNEY was burned BADLEY

  • So far this is the best poser animation I've seen on here. I am currently working a little project myself and pretty much a beginner on poser 6. I liked your fire, smoke effects. Can you direct me to a good turorial on how to do it? Thanks

  • godzillas too small

  • Well, look at it this way, it's a story about a boy's imagining his toy Godzilla coming to life, and it just so happens he imagined his Godzilla being the size depicted. Don't know what else to tell ya.

  • The program I used to create the smoke and fire special effects is Particle Illusion by Wondertouch (just Google it). It's a very easy program to learn and is unlimited in the effects it can create. Of course they have to be composited into the rendered Poser scenes, but that was fairly easy too using Adobe Premiere (or other programs like it). Not sure I know of any specific tutorials though. But I'd be happy to help you out if I can.
