In the six seasons we've been in the ACC, we won it 3 times, finished 2nd twice and 3rd once. We're the first ACC team to get a BCS win since Florida State beat us in the National Title.
It hurts that we don't have a national title, we aren't Florida or USC, but our football program is certainly respectable.

As the lone JMU grad in a UVA and VT family, I've got to say it is quite fun watching the year long pissing match that goes on between the two schools. Your average students are virtually the same.
As far as the athletics argument, my UVA parents are now claiming that the academic rigors mean that some athletes won't be accepted. (yea tell that to Duke and UNC basketball, Michigan football, etc.)

I assume you forget what happened to UVA last year in basketball? They finished 10th. What was the VT season series? 0-2 from your POV. You ended up paying .5 million dollars a postseason game just so you could get into the third-rate tournament.
What is your point? Unfortunately I haven't forgotten what kind of season UVa put forth last year. It was a BAD year, (how many BAD years has Tech had, historically?) However, one season does not make a trend. Just like UVa's football victory over Tech in '03 didn't mean anything with respect to the overall series, your sweep last year really means nothing. Just two years before that UVa swept you guys 3-0. So until Tech puts several consecutive sweeps together, you have NO room to talk.

i got into it. couldn't stand it. went to Blacksburg to live in an area with people who don't want to talk about being amazing their whole lives. by the way VT is rated higher for earning potential for its students, do you know why? because the things we are good at actually make you money like Engineering and architecture. just because you have national titles doesn't mean anything. when you beat VT in football, or basketball talk again, because 3-0 in ACC was nothing since your now 3-2.

that go there and I have met some great people who have went to UVA or who was going at that time and they where very nice and real cool to hang with and talk too and in all fairness I have to say the same about Tech. My best friend is a Tech fan and we try to get along during football season. Again very funny video! thedjlondon - are you smoking crack? VT has averaged 10.9 wins per season over the last 10 years (10.2 over the last 15). In the six seasons we've been in the ACC, we won it 3 times, finished 2nd twice and 3rd once. We're the first ACC team to get a BCS win since Florida State beat us in the National Title.
It hurts that we don't have a national title, we aren't Florida or USC, but our football program is certainly respectable.

I would say that a lot of this is very funny and true ... except that a lot isn't. Sure, there are quite a few people who love talking about Thomas Jefferson, but most people at UVA don't. As far as diversity goes, we are actually probably more diverse than Tech. Yes we suck at football and basketball (don't get me started on that), but who won the National Championship in Baseball?
By the way, as far as beer goes, we have TONS of beer at our parties, so I don't really get that part.

As the lone JMU grad in a UVA and VT family, I've got to say it is quite fun watching the year long pissing match that goes on between the two schools. Your average students are virtually the same.
As far as the athletics argument, my UVA parents are now claiming that the academic rigors mean that some athletes won't be accepted. (yea tell that to Duke and UNC basketball, Michigan football, etc.)

In spite of the moderate success that VT has achieved on the football field and to a lesser degree basketball court, they have a been a miserable failure in every other avenue of life. All you have to do is listen to the interviews..they sound uneducated in fact almost illiterate. I remember hearing once that even If Tech beats UVA , it will not matter as they will most likely be working for a UVA grad in about 5 years. Most likely in a work release program. Sad but true.

Wow. VT DOES NOT own UVa in basketball and baseball. In men's basketball, UVa leads the all-time series 78-49 (5-4 since VT joined the ACC). And in women's basketball UVa has a 30-8 edge (6-2 since VT entered the ACC). UVa leads the baseball series 82-74 (10-0 against the Hokies since VT joined the ACC). The only two sports in which VT has a series lead are football (47-37-5) and softball (20-12). So put that in your straw and suck it, cHokies! Football aside, UVa owns your athletic souls!

I assume you're talking about men's basketball, a sport in which UVa has a 29-game series lead over VT. Two years ago UVa won a share of the ACC regular season title with UNC, going 11-5. VT finished a game behind UVa at 10-6. Once again, VT fans remain oblivious to facts. I didn't mention the other sports because they weren't mentioned in the video, only basketball and baseball.

What is your point? Unfortunately I haven't forgotten what kind of season UVa put forth last year. It was a BAD year, (how many BAD years has Tech had, historically?) However, one season does not make a trend. Just like UVa's football victory over Tech in '03 didn't mean anything with respect to the overall series, your sweep last year really means nothing. Just two years before that UVa swept you guys 3-0. So until Tech puts several consecutive sweeps together, you have NO room to talk.
