There is no talking to these people really. All they can do is call names. they have no idea that there are far better modes of energy that this government has murdered people so it wouldn't get out. Look at Tesla, and this government is using his inventions here and in space and they are not sharing this with us because they can't put a feckin meter on it! I feel sorry for these people because they remain asleep. All they can think of is themselves. Do some research on other forms of energy.
This Pipeline and the one who got the stupid idea to created, can go to HELL!! This thing will kill not just humans but the whole American environment and affect the others in the most horrible way! NO TO KEYSTONE XL PIPELINE!!!
@NellyEnidHD I am sorry but you and all the rest of you that really do not have a brain in your head, do you have any clue of how many pipelines run through this country and have for many years, guess what, it really looks like we still have grass and trees and we are not swimming in oil, look it up there are many maps out there that show all the pipelines, google it and look under images you f*ing idiot. Once you do that DO NOT come back and talk more stupid crap till you RESEARCH
@mrroling2000 Well I guess the lost of brain goes both ways! Because of the pipelines you are talking about is that we are against this one, Did you read all about it? Did you know that this Keystone Pipeline will create 12 spils in ONE YEAR? And Yes I know there's a lot more pipelines out there destroying our environment! Do you remember what happen in The Gulf?? So YES! WE did swim and we're still swimming in oil!
You're talking about jobs that would at most last a year. The majority of those "new jobs" will cease afterwards and be limited to a small amount of maintainers, around 10% of the jobs it creates. It is just not worth it. The amount of jobs to environment destruction ratio is not profitable enough.
@Zipito06 YOU HAVE NO CLUE, maintainers? really? thats it? lets see, first off you need to know how many drop points there are, then you need to know how many people it will take to refine the oil in EACH refinery, now once refined you need to figure out how many tank drivers you need to deliver, oh by the way i used to be a tank driver, it takes many of them. Oh by the way first it needs to be constructed. This has the potential for 10,000's if not 100,000's of jobs. WAKE UP IDIOTS
We don't need any more OIL shit! there are far better energy's out there, we have wind and solar and countless other Free energy's that this government suppresses! This is the blood of our Earth and bleeding her dry kills everything! Money and jobs are not worth the health and livelihood of Human Beings! working for the elite and their greed is just helping them in their cause.
and you can hate all you want at what is stated here, I don't care for truth is truth!
@tkieffer63 REALLY, how do you think we make a damn wind mill, even though they are usless, the energy it takes to build one of these things will take that windmill 300yrs to reproduce. WOW do some research. Oh, by the way. Solar panels? really. Lets see you need the parts for them? What do you think some of these parts are made out of? Plastic = OIL you f*ing moron.
Regardless of where the oil is going, the money and jobs would be coming to America. But I guess this joke of a president can't accept reality and invest in feasible, tangible good paying jobs for middle America. Why require people to work for income and insurance when the government can just give it for free? Funny how he didn't hesitate to waste half a billion dollars on the sure-to-fail Solyndra factories. Hurry up November. Can't hold out much longer.....
And once it is refined it goes into large tanker ships and is sold to China, Japan and Europe. It is NOT coming to America so don't get excited. It is all about profit to the big oil companies, not about what is best for the USA. Once the construction is finished, this oil is G O N E.
@SAOTUBE How would we benfit if we where to get of oil? Oil is a gret thing, and it is in our self intrest to keep using it. It is not an "Addiction" as people say. Addiction is a desire for some thing harmful.Oil is a great sustaining product.
@SAOTUBE LET ME KNOW WHEN THAT WORKS FOR YOU, I'LL KEEP USING IT. By the way, what would it cost to replace everything in this country that runs on OIL(gas, diesel, plastic, and everything else) $100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.00 - could be close, probably missing a few zeros. WHY DO YOU NOT START SAVING YOUR PENNIES. LMAO
Stephen Harper wins Fossil of the Year Award in Durban – 5th Colossal Fossil in a row Durban, South Africa, December 9, 2011 – UN climate change conferences. Canadians in Durban, South Africa to accept the award, Canada's actions have become so egregious that they have been left behind, on the sidelines of global climate progress.
e•gre•gious 1. extraordinary in some BAD WAY; glaring; flagrant: an egregious mistake; an egregious liar.
Most troubling is the lack of a coherent, science-based plan for Canada. There are no caps on industrial emissions, - Canadian emissions will continue to rise.
Over the past year emissions have increased in every sector. 276% increase from mining emissions since 1990. This dramatic increase is non other than the explosion of tar sands development. The Environment Canada Inventory Report states,
“When it comes to the tar sands, Enbridge is Canada’s pusher, pumping dirty oil through unreliable pipelines which are bound to spill,” said Taylor Flook, an organizer with Environmental Justice Toronto. “Averaging at 61 leaks per year for the past 10 years, Enbridge is celebrating over 600 leaks and breaks—and its investors need to know that. Enbridge pipelines are too risky.”
@OGShocker I am not sure what you are getting at, most of the dirty oil will be refined in the US and shipped elsewhere. If you were trying to tell me to stop driving, well I made that decision quite some time ago.
Nevermind the leaks in the existing tar sands pipelines!! or the COMPLETE destruction of one of the largest remaining forests & ALL of it's inhabitants... burning thru enough natural gas to fuel millions of homes & cars for decades... just to create a few temporary jobs so the oil can bypass America and be exported??? Yeah, that's smart.
@SuperTurbo1200 -- 840,000 gallons spilled into the Kalamazoo River. Ever hear of GOOGLE? amazing resource. Brought to you by the same people as youtube. Might try looking stuff up before calling people an idiot... (lest ya look like one yourself)
@PokeLeCornu Exactly you fucking left wing idiot ! The Kalamazoo was horrible accident the worst pipeline leak ever ! The gulf oil spill 200 million gallons went into the ocean ! Exxon Valdez 120 million gallons ! Imperial coral reef 250 thousand gallons ! Pipeline spills may happen. No process is 100% but in comparison they are smaller because the line can be turned off immediately and usually the spill is on land. The river was just bad luck ! Or wut you say fuck are oceans right ?
@SuperTurbo1200 so instead you want to poison water used for the WORLD'S bread basket. Nebraska is my home and the pipeline crosses over our water supply. Move awaw from the Ogallala aquifer and we have no issue with it. The lives and livelihoods of people in 5 states and the worlds food need this unspoiled water!
@PokeLeCornu Ok well you didn't say it like that ! I agree with you that our water should be seen as very important and if they spend more money routing it around to have less potential threat to an ecosystem I agree it should be done. We need this pipeline its not a question. We spend trillions buying oil from our enemies that must stop but I do agree that the root the line takes from Alberta to Texas must be the best one to reduce any possible threat as possible !
@SuperTurbo1200 - You're being lied to. We have 100% full benefit of the tar sands RIGHT NOW. It's supplying MOST of the oil coming to the central and midwest. Completion of the pipeline will allow China, Russia & other nations to enjoy this "cheap" oil (which it isn't really, it's driving up natural gas prices for everyone who's on our pipeline -- which means EVERYONE is paying higher Gas & Electric bills!!!) The weekly consumption of natural gas could fuel MILLIONS of homes.
@PokeLeCornu You got it back wards ! I agree some will be sold over seas but the fact is the middle east is close to China and eventually the U.S and China are going to have problems with each other had Russia not collapsed we would have had war. The world is not nice snuff to have 2 super powers eventually the U.S and NATO are gonna war with China and Russia. Locking up a large snuff oil supply now is smart just in case.Canada is the new Saudi Arabia !
@happyharv1 lol , you don't know me? Or how I live my life so stfu. And until you have a pipeline running through your land don't push for one to be run through others.
Like I said before its not being built anyway so stfu. +1 for me . +1 for the enviroment. +100 for the owners of the land that woulda been affected. How are my complaints are meaningless ??complaints like mine got the pipeline stopped from being built.
@Idyllhours Its just been postponed you really think this is not going to happen ?? We are killing brownies for oil as we speak !! Stopping a multi billion dollar project all in the name of saving some blue billed duck habitats and making some hippies feel like they have some worth in the world aint stopping shit and if you really think this line is done then I would say your PR job at wall mart is probable your professional peak !
@happyharv1 damn I hit post before I was done. Your logic of spills rarely happen is bunk. They happen all the time! Anyone its not being built +1 for me. And I'm done.
@Idyllhours: Relative to all the pipelines in the ground the spills and damage done is mininmal. The pipelines are not without their faults and problems.
The Pipeline companies do not tell everyone the pipelines are fail safe.
If you have any suggestions ( with substance) as to how the energy needs of a country are to be met without the use of pipelines then the readers are all ears and listneing to your grand wisdom and thoughtfull insight
@hippyharv1 and you didn't answer the question. Would you want a oil pipeline in your backyard? Possibly rendering your land useless and worthless in the future? And for spills tell that to the people in yellowstone or kalamazoo michigan , and the 1000! Of other places spills occur each year from these damn pipelines.
@Idyllhours: Of course I would not want an oil spill on my land.
That has not stopped the energy companies from doing the business of delivering the products that are essential to the refineries and petrochemical industries. Have you forgotten about the hundreds of products YOU continually use resultant of those industries. Like the computer you use to lament them while whining and complaining about the very industries that make your semi charmed life so comfortable and convenient.
@Idyllhours: We hear what you say...but the day that YOU "volunteer" to give up all your worldly possessions and stop buying and consuming ALL the many, many Oil and Natural Gas and Petrochemical related consumer products that provide you and your family with the hundreds of consumer based products that you "more or less" NEED to live comfortably and conveniently....THEN your complaints will have meaningfull substance. You can volunteer to be the first to forego all the benefits.
@hippyharv1 I think you mis took my words, this pipeline is for crude to get to the gulf to the refineries is it not??? I wasn't talking about other pipelines.
And for farmers getting compensated ., lol that's true but the oil companies low ball the land owners and if they don't like it they take it without paying them a dime. Look it up its happened in the past and happened to my friends dad when they built a highway through his farm.
@juscurious Refined fuels don't get pumped through pipelines? The pipeline is so the crude can get to the refineries in the gulf. Refined fuels are sent through trucks, rail and sea ie that's why the refineries are in the gulf,. So were you born stupid or did you train to get that way?
@Idyllhours:@Idyllhours:The Transmountian Pipeline ( Edmonton to Vancouver owned by Kinder Morgan Partnership ) is a dual purpose pipeline that transports crude oil or refined petroleum done in intervals.
Look it up on the internet.
The USA also has many refined petroleum products pipelines
I'm glad the pipeline isn't being built. I just have one question for the people who favor it, if this pipeline was going to be built and run through your land would you still want it? Think about the farmers, ranchers, and property owners that would have to deal with this? Then if a spill would occur, (which we all know it would) it would make there property worthless and useless. How would you feel if that was your property? I'm glad for people like Randall Thompson of NE.
@Idyllhours: There are already tens of thousands of crude oil and refined petroleum products pipelines and Natural Gas pipelines running all over North America and have been for the last 100 years.
Seldom does a spill or rupture occur. It is the safest way to move huge volumes of product..but not fail safe in every aspect.
The farmers get paid right of way compensation for the use of their land
It was just announced Brazil will sell their oil China . Obama gave 3 billion in all of our taxpayer money to them . He said we hope to do business with them in the future -WTF !!! George Soros is behind the drilling there . Now they get to make straight profit off China thanks to our financing it fully . Plus China,Russia & Cuba r drilling off the south & east coast of Florida but,we can't . They will be getting billions & billions of barrels of our oil with sideways drilling !!! It's B-S !!!!
@aguyfromTn Actually.. you are not. Do you believe in the bullshit you are getting feed? Where are you getting your sources from? That information comes from a report paid by TransCanada and the American Petroleum Institute itself. It would be in their best interest to bring up such numbers. How about you go home and do some more research and based your numbers on more reliable sources, e.g. Cornell University study on Keystone XL than information provided by the Oil company itself.
Simply build a giant U.S. refinery at the Canadian border. Why pipe the stuff all the way to the Texas coast? Let Canada pay for a pipeline to Vancouver if they want to export to other parts of the world. Just drop my $10M consulting fee in the mail.
@Alvord1430 Build a refiney at the Border? Then you have to transport the refined products via a PIPELINE. This means you have to build mutiple pipelines to ship the product as you CANNOT mix all the various types of fuels that are refined from oil. You cannot mix Diesel with gasoline of even aviation fuel. Alvord, you will get no fee because you are as dumb as a box of rocks. Question: Were you torn that stupid or did you need to train for it. Build the damn Pipeline, it's a no brainer.
@juscurious Refined fuels get moved mostly by truck and rail. Significant amount of crude oil gets moved to refineries by ship, truck, and rail in addition to pipeline. Canada wants the U.S. to pay for the big expensive pipeline to the ocean so they don't have to spend the money or deal with their own Canuck environmentalists.
@juscurious: Not correct. The pipelines can be engineered for dual purpose to pump crude oil or refined petroleum products done by way of interval pumping. They can also send blended refined products and then seperate them at the delivery end if they want to do it that way.The Kinder Morgan, Transmountain Pipeline ( Edmonton to Vancouver ) transports both refined petroleum products or crude oil...300,000 barrels a day.
@juscurious: Your statements ( for the record) are wrong and ignorant.
Yes you can blend refined petroleum products and seperate them later..if you wanted to do it like that.
You do not need to build multiple pipelines to deliver the seperate products.
The Kinder Morgan Transmountain Pipeline is engineered as a dual purpose pipeline that delivers crude oil or refined petroleum products...on a regular basis by way of "Interval Pumping"
@jaymelee23 There are already hundreds of pipelines in tornado carrying all manner of fuels. This pipeline would actually be safer than the existing pipelines because it will be built to newer standards.
Why doesn't Canada just refine their oil in Canada and provide cheap energy for Canadians? They should keep their resources and provide jobs for their people and help Canadians and not just use it as a commodity to enrich a few speculators and political groups in the US or China. If the oil was in Mexico, the oil companies would want that; it's greed and corruption and tax evasion at work here.
@HyperMediaNews Because Canada has far more oil than it can use. Canadians and Americans will both gets jobs and good jobs at that if the pipeline is built. They won't be crappy government jobs either. Do you drive or ever use any transportation? Where do you think the fuels come from? Were you born that stupid or did you have to train to get that way.
It is less expensive to save jobs than to create new business. Obama saved the American Automotive and Financial industries with TARP (not to mention over 8-millions jobs). Furthermore, the U.S. will likely see profitable returns from the project, and theTeaParty slammed him for it.
The TeaParty then procedes to push their costly and out-dated energy pet project (keystone pipeline) to create a mere 10,000 jobs (for which many american workers have deemed "unqualified").
jobs + friendy fuel w/ safely. sounds like the way to go. oh, but america don't need gas&jobs. its all about politics! the radical is playing games with votes?? ARE YOU PEOPLE KEEP THE RADICAL IN OFFICE. OBAMA HAS 0% RUNNING A BUSINESS, 0% DOING BUSINESS DEALS, 0% DEALING WITH FOREIGN AFFAIRS. GET RID OF THE LIBERAL SOCIALIST OUT OF OFFICE (i do not enjoy calling the pres of the u.s.a a socialist, but the shoe fits!
"...What did I see? Cheap foreign steel that cracked when workers tried to weld it, foundations for pump stations that you would never consider using in your own home, fudged safety tests, Bechtel staffers explaining away leaks during pressure tests as "not too bad," shortcuts on the steel and rebar that are essential for safe pipeline operation and siting of facilities on completely inappropriate spots like wetlands..."
@SUPERALASKAMAN sorry I cant speak for non union contractors and how they conduct their business, nor can I confirm the validity of someone I dont know, but I can speak for the contractors I have worked for, the projects I have seen. You let me know how many years you have pipelining, If you wanted American made pipe for pipelines, you wouldnt have allowed them to be run out of America in the first place. We are no longer in a position to even be able to supplya project this size
@SUPERALASKAMAN This was also an inspector at a non union pumping station, which have had leaks on Phase I. This is the same reason Transcanada has a labor agreement with approx 90% of the XL, because they found out the hard way, you dont save money by going with unskilled labor. They had to hire Union Contractors to come fix the mistakes of the Non union ones
You are the one making the claim that temporary gains spur economic growth in the long run, so by all means lets see your studies where this has been proven. I am just waiting here in anticipation for you to pile the data on me.
What conspiracy theory? The facts are right here, there is no theory.
"Observe that in all the propaganda of the ecologists—amidst all their appeals to nature and pleas for "harmony with nature"—there is no discussion of man's needs and the requirements of his survival. Man is treated as if he were an unnatural phenomenon. Man cannot survive in the kind of state of nature that the ecologists envision—i.e., on the level of sea urchins or polar bears"-- Ayn Rand
When all of you state "facts" are you taking it from a sorce that dosn't profit from the decision your for.... Has it occurred to anyone that there already is a pipeline from the tar sands into America, this new pipe line is not for energy security. But the tv said so, so it must be true.
@deadkip There is a current line running from canada to the us, this line would increase the flow. as far as Im concerned if TransCanada wanted to run 10 more like it, fund the payroll, property taxes, and have a labor agreement with a record of safety, I say lets take the money. And when looking at the groups that profit, none profit more from the creation of scare tactics and spinning the facts than the "enviromental" groups
Why in the world has obama rejected this? This traitor to the American People needs to be impeached. His marxist loyaties are to the fake green energy douches, soros, and his socialist beliefs. This anti-American pile of steaming shit, needs to go.
1. Keystone XL is export oil meaning the U.S will not benefit from it, but have to shoulder the environmental cost.
2. Tar Sand is worse than crude, just ask anyone who actually experienced a tar sand spill.
3. The job figure was fake too, since the real estimate is so low it is not even worth considering as putting Americans back to work. 13,000 jobs? Try 4-5000 temporary and a few hundred permanent jobs.
@salmantino1969 I am an unemployed union pipefitter and Navy veteran with a bronze star and I want you to know I have worked on tar sand pipelines and clean ups and you do not want this tar sands going through America no matter the money. It is only going to hurt Americans and the environment. Please don't let them fool you to believing that a year or two worth of work is more important than our children. Watch (john bolenbaugh enbridge kills us one by one ) and then reply back. thank you.
Farm's are the biggest unregulated polluter's in america today they spray chemicals then the rain water washes the chemicals down in to the ground..if this pipeline was to leak and the oil was to make it in to the ground water that mean's there's already chemicals in the water befor this pipeline was build do to farm's and there spraying of chemicals
I understand why the union pipe fitters are for this, it's jobs in their field. Who's going to say no to a paycheck?
The bigger question is are 15K temporary construction jobs worth the environmental and health risks of this pipeline breaking?
Of course no one builds a pipeline they think will break, that's why it's called an accident. But with tar sand oil, the product must be shipped at higher pressures increasing the chance of rupture.
Read about the 2010 disaster in the Kalamazoo River i
@route99 watch the videos of the michigan oil spill. I am the whistle blower that worked for them and I was told to bury oil. I didnt and i was fired. Watch all my videos for proof to show people.
@piperfawn I don't know that you have more oil than us. I doubt it. Besides, we still have plenty and there's no reason why we can't use ours for the next million years before we need to tap into yours.
@guyNbluejeans well you know now! we are second in oil supply to Saudi Arabia and will soon surpass them. duhhhh; you already buy ours and you need more. we make texas look like a puddle; inform yourself!
@piperfawn WATCH (JOHN BOLENBAUGH ENBRIDGE KILLS US ONE BY ONE) TO SEE THE TRUTH ABOUT TAR SANDS. i AM A UNION WORKER AND A FOREMAN FOR THE LAST KEYSTONE PIPELINE. aND I WILL NEVER WORK FOR ANOTHER TAR SAND JOB BECAUSE IT KILLS jUST WATCH THE VIDEO THEN RESPOND PLEASE
@johnBolenbaugh no; I've heard it all before.. if ppl want to protest; look no further than North Dakota at its oil patch. it has NO environmental restrictions.. thx..
@piperfawn you are right. Enbridge buried oil in North Dakota workers have secretly told me of the location, and I am going to prove it in the spring and Enbridge personal will be going to prison. You are right there needs to be restrictions. I am for oil I am not for tar sand oil. I am not a protester all i am doing is saying I was a worker told to bury oil and I refused to and after I complained Enbridge had to re dig up the buried oil.
@johnBolenbaugh uhhhh; they have not buried oil in ND.. they struck oil there. that's what a "patch" means.. so i don't think you ever worked in oil..you cannot "secretly bury oil" LMAO!
@piperfawn let me explain more clearly. Enbridge had a oil spill from a tar sand pipeline in N. Dakota and workers have called me and told me that Enbirdge buried 3 football fields worth of oil 6 foot deep rather than cleaning it up and it is going into the communities wells and will slowly kill them over the years. And I am a foreman and a past yard boss for the biggest clean up of tar sands in North America. I do know what I am talking about. My entire family works as coordinators or foreman
@piperfawn I worked on it. It is called the keystone one. Canada to Illinois and yes it goes through North Dakota and S. Dakota. It has had 12 leaks in the first 12 months. one was 21,000 gallons. The XL pipeline will be hooked on to it and run to Texas if the proposal goes through someday. I am sure your a great guy that just wants a job to feed his family but I promise you it is not in the best interest of America. It is only to pocket billions in profits to tar sand oil companies.
@piperfawn sorry I thought you were a guy. And I have been in the trenches documenting and investigating and i am still learning but I do know a lot from talking to DC - EPA personally, scientist, environmentalist, union workers, clean up workers, residents, doctors, and I wouldn't have reported a cover up of tar sand oil and lost my $2,300 a week job and been black balled from the industry and spent every dime i have selling everything i own to stop this if it wasn't truly that bad.
@Stickmodee checked your channel and that seems to be the only word you know. I feel sorry for your children to have a father with no intelligence and that is as rude as you are. If your children lived in my community you wouldn't say bullshit when they are crying to daddy that they are sick and then the doctor tells you it is from the tar sand oil that poisoned their body. It is easy to be a back seat driver and talk the talk but from your mannerism you prove you can't walk the walk
@johnBolenbaugh I feel sorry for your children that have a naive, liberal pussy for a father. See those windmills kids? After 30 days of high winds, they will provide us enough green energy to make two fucking pieces of toast.I'm sorry your daddy didn't play catch with you enough. but don't bring your kids up as milquetoasts.
@Stickmodee I am going to play your game a little longer then i have real work to do to save America from people like you. I am a Navy Veteran with a bronze star. I wrestled in The Navy, in college and you would NOT last a minute against me. I am not a liberal and I support oil just not Deadly tar sand oil that documents from the White House, Trans Canada and Enbridge state that this oil is going to be 90% shipped to China, Asia and South America. It is NOT for the United States.
@Stickmodee I am a Union pipefitter and foreman and yard boss and I worked on the Keystone 1 and the Enbridge oil spill and I will never work for a tar sand job again. Watch (john bolenbaugh enbridge kills us one by one) to see the video proof that these tar sands kill America not help America. and the carbons are to high to use in American Military equipment. Canada wants to build this pipeline to ship it over seas. Jobs will be 2 years tops and 2,000 at most. They are fooling YOU!
@johnBolenbaugh Those facts are completely wrong. Transcanada did say that the pipeline will export the oil because things like the US diesel demand would leave some to be exported. second your 2000 jobs, if you were really a foreman you would know that this is completly laughable, hell the KXL has already created about 2000 jobs for enviromental groups fighting it alone and it didnt even get approved.
Are temporary gains worth a visible threat to our future?
What has oil done for us except created a superficial world that is bound to fail?
If I am not mistaken this pipeline goes very close to one of the biggest fresh water aquifers in the United States, this at a time when you import fresh water.... Look what the oil industry did to all your other fresh water sources, there is entire rivers that are now undrinkable....
As far as the aquifer, it will be routed around the aquifer, but even in the initial routing where a small portion went through it, it had been found by the state department to be safe and was said to have a probability of leaking once in 1643 years. Thats a better average then the toxic waste dumps were given when the placed those over the same aquifer, but nobody has said a word about that.
Oh great the state department found it safe, lets go right ahead and build it then. Its not like they have ever lied to the people before..... Or ruined the water supply before... People are still recovering from the damage hydraulic fracturing has done to their communities, might want to do some research into just how unreliable, and dangerous these companies are when it come to environmental safety. You may not care about anything but your own profits, but I do.
@guyNbluejeans Yeah, and then pipelines can be built left and right! Unless you think pipelines are a bad idea. And why toss him out over Kenya? He wasn't born there. Why promote such violence at all? No wonder Ron Paul has had racist newsletters -- to gain support from jack---es like you.
Endorse ron Paul. Do your research my union brothers..he is nottttt against unions like most Republican he is more conservative. More and more unions are endorsing him. He says that unions should be run within themselves and not be overseen by a federal authority. Ron Paul 2012!!!!!
folks,i wish that our cars-trains-schoolbusses-subways-vibriters,all ran on algea, but they dont,we need the work,we need the oil,OBAMA.is going have everything fucked so bad, even the MTV.kids are going to be pissed!
This oil is not for the USA. If it was the oil would go to a Midwestern refinery where it would lower gas prices to 15 midwestern states by .20¢ a Gallon.
The pipeline is goint to the Oil Export Hub of the USA. One oil spill in the Ogallala aquifer 25 Million people & 50,000 Farmers will not have water. Did we learn nothing from BP?
HOW CAN YOU SAY NO TO MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF OIL? Invest in renewable energy? Of Course and we're already doing that. But right now every american pretty much uses oil to fuel their cars. I seriously don't understand why he would say no to this.
Also, Keystone would actually help change our energy policy to renewable energy because it would lower gas prices and it would give the government more opportunities to invest in renewable resources. Thus making a transition easier.
@GregariousGorilla none of the oil go's to the us all the jobs are sort term and the pipe line is made somewhere else the only way to get MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF OIL is to go live in china that is where it all going every drop
@8910cbn Cave man days? You know what will drive America into cave man days? $10 a gallon per barrel of oil from crazy middle eastern countries. Also look outside. Do you see any cars? Businesses? That's because we live in a industrialized country. Accept reality please.
We need to take our world back from the globalists running the corporations and our government. And a damn good place to start is DO NOT allow the pipeline to be built. What will happen? The oil will have to be refined near the shale oil fields, transported via truck or rail intercontinentally and won't be early as viable on the world market any longer. The ONLY reason for the pipeline to the gulf of Mexico is for the WORLD market people. No pipeline = good for North America.
I'm all for green energy if it worked; so far it don't. Private enterprise will take care of that sometime in the future. Not building the pipeline is plain stupid. This is like going on a picnic and worrying so much about the ants crawling on the blanket that you don't notice the elephants running over you. We need oil now. To let this country fall because of ideology is both unpatriotic and stupid. If we have to buy it from someone else I'd rather get oil from Canada than the Middle East
ARE YOU SHITTING ME!!!!!!!!????????????? Why does the UA continue to support the Obama administration after he sold these working families out to the environmental lobby??? The UA should have pulled their support in the 2008 campaign when he all but said if he is elected he would erratic ate the coal industry? Coal power plants, ect?? The title of this vid is correct. Its a no brainer. Wake up UA members. Pres Obama has laid his cards on the table by stpooing this project. And the UA loses...
Short term solution to a long term problem, just kicking the can down the road so our kids have an even harder life. Baby boomers are the brats that ruined America for all future generations.
Enbridge pipelines are too risky.” Its SAD that people
fall for 1% lies so easily, But why worry, it's are children and there's that will pay the price.
Dirty oil, bad idea. 1300 part time jobs and a potential to poison aquifers and surface waters. P.S. it is not your oil it belongs to Canada and Harper's days are numbered.
So what about earthquakes ? Then what, it spills. If It spills, it should spill right all over you "finest" workers who built it, lets put the mess it WILL make when one of your welds break RIGHT IN YOUR HOME. Then you can sit, drink, eat, shit, and live, in the oil. Like you intend to do, to the life living where you clear land for your pipes. Lets just bulldoze your house down, it will create some jobs, someone has to knock your house over, and clean up.

NellyEnidHD 1 day ago
You're talking about jobs that would at most last a year. The majority of those "new jobs" will cease afterwards and be limited to a small amount of maintainers, around 10% of the jobs it creates. It is just not worth it. The amount of jobs to environment destruction ratio is not profitable enough.
Zipito06 6 days ago
@Zipito06 YOU HAVE NO CLUE, maintainers? really? thats it? lets see, first off you need to know how many drop points there are, then you need to know how many people it will take to refine the oil in EACH refinery, now once refined you need to figure out how many tank drivers you need to deliver, oh by the way i used to be a tank driver, it takes many of them. Oh by the way first it needs to be constructed. This has the potential for 10,000's if not 100,000's of jobs. WAKE UP IDIOTS

SuperTurbo1200 2 weeks ago
@SuperTurbo1200 so instead you want to poison water used for the WORLD'S bread basket. Nebraska is my home and the pipeline crosses over our water supply. PokeLeCornu 2 weeks ago
SuperTurbo1200 1 week ago
@SuperTurbo1200 - You're being lied to. We have 100% full benefit of the tar sands RIGHT NOW. It's supplying MOST of the oil coming to the central and midwest. Completion of the pipeline will allow China, Russia & other nations to enjoy this "cheap" oil (which it isn't really, it's driving up natural gas prices for everyone who's on our pipeline -- which means EVERYONE is paying higher Gas & Electric bills!!!) The weekly consumption of natural gas could fuel MILLIONS of homes.

Idyllhours 2 weeks ago
@juscurious Refined fuels don't get pumped through pipelines? The pipeline is so the crude can get to the refineries in the gulf. Refined fuels are sent through trucks, rail and sea ie that's why the refineries are in the gulf,. So were you born stupid or did you train to get that way?
Idyllhours 2 weeks ago
@Idyllhours:@Idyllhours:The Transmountian Pipeline ( Edmonton to Vancouver owned by Kinder Morgan Partnership ) is a dual purpose pipeline that transports crude oil or refined petroleum done in intervals.
Look it up on the internet.
The USA also has many refined petroleum products pipelines
happyharv1 2 weeks ago
I'm glad the pipeline isn't being built. I just have one question for the people who favor it, if this pipeline was going to be built and run through your land would you still want it? Think about the farmers, ranchers, and property owners that would have to deal with this? Then if a spill would occur, (which we all know it would) it would make there property worthless and useless. How would you feel if that was your property? I'm glad for people like Randall Thompson of NE.
Idyllhours 2 weeks ago
@Idyllhours: There are already tens of thousands of crude oil and refined petroleum products pipelines and Natural Gas pipelines running all over North America and have been for the last 100 years.
Seldom does a spill or rupture occur. It is the safest way to move huge volumes of product..but not fail safe in every aspect.
The farmers get paid right of way compensation for the use of their land

Simply build a giant U.S. refinery at the Canadian border. Why pipe the stuff all the way to the Texas coast? Let Canada pay for a pipeline to Vancouver if they want to export to other parts of the world. Just drop my $10M consulting fee in the mail.
Alvord1430 3 weeks ago
@Alvord1430 Build a refiney at the Border? Then you have to transport the refined products via a PIPELINE. This means you have to build mutiple pipelines to ship the product as you CANNOT mix all the various types of fuels that are refined from oil. You cannot mix Diesel with gasoline of even aviation fuel. Alvord, you will get no fee because you are as dumb as a box of rocks. Question: Were you torn that stupid or did you need to train for it. Build the damn Pipeline, it's a no brainer.
juscurious 2 weeks ago
@juscurious Refined fuels get moved mostly by truck and rail. Significant amount of crude oil gets moved to refineries by ship, truck, and rail in addition to pipeline. Canada wants the U.S. to pay for the big expensive pipeline to the ocean so they don't have to spend the money or deal with their own Canuck environmentalists.
Alvord1430 2 weeks ago
@juscurious: Not correct. The pipelines can be engineered for dual purpose to pump crude oil or refined petroleum products done by way of interval pumping. They can also send blended refined products and then seperate them at the delivery end if they want to do it that way.The Kinder Morgan, Transmountain Pipeline ( Edmonton to Vancouver ) transports both refined petroleum products or crude oil...300,000 barrels a day.
happyharv1 2 weeks ago
@juscurious: Your statements ( for the record) are wrong and ignorant.
Yes you can blend refined petroleum products and seperate them later..if you wanted to do it like that.
You do not need to build multiple pipelines to deliver the seperate products.
The Kinder Morgan Transmountain Pipeline is engineered as a dual purpose pipeline that delivers crude oil or refined petroleum products...on a regular basis by way of "Interval Pumping"
happyharv1 2 weeks ago
@Alvord1430: That could be done if the U.S.A. Environmentalist groups and public opposition did not stop the development.
In North Dakota the first New refinery in 30 years is being built utilizing the nearby Bakken shale oil deposit as feed stock
Any increase in refinery capacity throughout the U.S.A has come from the permitted expansion of existing refinery infrastructure.
Texas is where there is existing significant refinery capacity and they want to refine the crude oil there.

They should keep their resources and provide jobs for their people and help Canadians and not just use it as a commodity to enrich a few speculators and political groups in the US or China. If the oil was in Mexico, the oil companies would want that; it's greed and corruption and tax evasion at work here.

The bigger question is are 15K temporary construction jobs worth the environmental and health risks of this pipeline breaking?
Of course no one builds a pipeline they think will break, that's why it's called an accident. But with tar sand oil, the product must be shipped at higher pressures increasing the chance of rupture.

@piperfawn WATCH (JOHN BOLENBAUGH ENBRIDGE KILLS US ONE BY ONE) TO SEE THE TRUTH ABOUT TAR SANDS. i AM A UNION WORKER AND A FOREMAN FOR THE LAST KEYSTONE PIPELINE. aND I WILL NEVER WORK FOR ANOTHER TAR SAND JOB BECAUSE IT KILLS jUST WATCH THE VIDEO THEN RESPOND PLEASE
johnBolenbaugh 1 month ago
@johnBolenbaugh no; I've heard it all before.. if ppl want to protest; look no further than North Dakota at its oil patch. it has NO environmental restrictions.. thx..
piperfawn 1 month ago
@piperfawn you are right. Enbridge buried oil in North Dakota workers have secretly told me of the location, and I am going to prove it in the spring and Enbridge personal will be going to prison. You are right there needs to be restrictions. I am for oil I am not for tar sand oil. I am not a protester all i am doing is saying I was a worker told to bury oil and I refused to and after I complained Enbridge had to re dig up the buried oil.
johnBolenbaugh 1 month ago
@johnBolenbaugh uhhhh; they have not buried oil in ND.. they struck oil there. that's what a "patch" means.. so i don't think you ever worked in oil..you cannot "secretly bury oil" LMAO!
piperfawn 1 month ago
@piperfawn let me explain more clearly. Enbridge had a oil spill from a tar sand pipeline in N. Dakota and workers have called me and told me that Enbirdge buried 3 football fields worth of oil 6 foot deep rather than cleaning it up and it is going into the communities wells and will slowly kill them over the years. And I am a foreman and a past yard boss for the biggest clean up of tar sands in North America. I do know what I am talking about. My entire family works as coordinators or foreman
johnBolenbaugh 1 month ago
@johnBolenbaugh there is not a pipeline from Canadian tar sands in ND.. oil was discovered there..
piperfawn 1 month ago
@piperfawn I worked on it. It is called the keystone one. Canada to Illinois and yes it goes through North Dakota and S. Dakota. It has had 12 leaks in the first 12 months. one was 21,000 gallons. The XL pipeline will be hooked on to it and run to Texas if the proposal goes through someday. I am sure your a great guy that just wants a job to feed his family but I promise you it is not in the best interest of America. It is only to pocket billions in profits to tar sand oil companies.
johnBolenbaugh 1 month ago
@johnBolenbaugh OK.. will investigate that.. thanks but i am a woman and very well off.
piperfawn 1 month ago
@piperfawn sorry I thought you were a guy. And I have been in the trenches documenting and investigating and i am still learning but I do know a lot from talking to DC - EPA personally, scientist, environmentalist, union workers, clean up workers, residents, doctors, and I wouldn't have reported a cover up of tar sand oil and lost my $2,300 a week job and been black balled from the industry and spent every dime i have selling everything i own to stop this if it wasn't truly that bad.
johnBolenbaugh 1 month ago
@johnBolenbaugh Bullshit.
Stickmodee 1 month ago
@Stickmodee checked your channel and that seems to be the only word you know. I feel sorry for your children to have a father with no intelligence and that is as rude as you are. If your children lived in my community you wouldn't say bullshit when they are crying to daddy that they are sick and then the doctor tells you it is from the tar sand oil that poisoned their body. It is easy to be a back seat driver and talk the talk but from your mannerism you prove you can't walk the walk
johnBolenbaugh 1 month ago
@johnBolenbaugh I feel sorry for your children that have a naive, liberal pussy for a father. See those windmills kids? After 30 days of high winds, they will provide us enough green energy to make two fucking pieces of toast.I'm sorry your daddy didn't play catch with you enough. but don't bring your kids up as milquetoasts.
Stickmodee 1 month ago
@Stickmodee I am going to play your game a little longer then i have real work to do to save America from people like you. I am a Navy Veteran with a bronze star. I wrestled in The Navy, in college and you would NOT last a minute against me. I am not a liberal and I support oil just not Deadly tar sand oil that documents from the White House, Trans Canada and Enbridge state that this oil is going to be 90% shipped to China, Asia and South America. It is NOT for the United States.
johnBolenbaugh 1 month ago
@Stickmodee I am a Union pipefitter and foreman and yard boss and I worked on the Keystone 1 and the Enbridge oil spill and I will never work for a tar sand job again. Watch (john bolenbaugh enbridge kills us one by one) to see the video proof that these tar sands kill America not help America. and the carbons are to high to use in American Military equipment. Canada wants to build this pipeline to ship it over seas. Jobs will be 2 years tops and 2,000 at most. They are fooling YOU!
johnBolenbaugh 1 month ago
@johnBolenbaugh Those facts are completely wrong. Transcanada did say that the pipeline will export the oil because things like the US diesel demand would leave some to be exported. second your 2000 jobs, if you were really a foreman you would know that this is completly laughable, hell the KXL has already created about 2000 jobs for enviromental groups fighting it alone and it didnt even get approved.
redforty4 1 month ago
@redforty4
NeutralExistence 1 month ago
@NeutralExistence
As far as the aquifer, it will be routed around the aquifer, but even in the initial routing where a small portion went through it, it had been found by the state department to be safe and was said to have a probability of leaking once in 1643 years. Thats a better average then the toxic waste dumps were given when the placed those over the same aquifer, but nobody has said a word about that.
redforty4 1 month ago
@redforty4

Vote for Ron Paul and toss the status quo in the trash.
guyNbluejeans 1 month ago
@guyNbluejeans Yeah, and then pipelines can be built left and right! Unless you think pipelines are a bad idea. And why toss him out over Kenya? He wasn't born there. Why promote such violence at all? No wonder Ron Paul has had racist newsletters -- to gain support from jack---es like you.

Keystone XL will not lessen U.S. dependence on foreign oil, but transport Canadian oil to American refineries for export to overseas markets.
1. It would transport the dirtiest oil on the planet.
2. It would kill more jobs than it would create.
3. It would make us more oil-dependent, not more secure.
4. It would threaten America’s breadbasket and U.S. waterways.
5. It would lay waste to Canada’s Boreal forest, home of our backyard birds.

The oil goes to sale on the world market, the US gets no "special deal" and it doesn't hake enough to make a dent in world prices.

Endorse ron Paul. Do your research my union brothers..he is nottttt against unions like most Republican he is more conservative. More and more unions are endorsing him. He says that unions should be run within themselves and not be overseen by a federal authority. Ron Paul 2012!!!!!

The Rep-Bull-Krapi-Con$ think we are stupid.

GregariousGorilla 1 month ago
@GregariousGorilla none of the oil go's to the us all the jobs are sort term and the pipe line is made somewhere else the only way to get MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF OIL is to go live in china that is where it all going every drop

8910cbn 1 month ago
@8910cbn Cave man days? You know what will drive America into cave man days? $10 a gallon per barrel of oil from crazy middle eastern countries. Also look outside. Do you see any cars? Businesses? That's because we live in a industrialized country. Accept reality please.
GregariousGorilla 1 month ago
We need to take our world back from the globalists running the corporations and our government. And a damn good place to start is DO NOT allow the pipeline to be built. What will happen? The oil will have to be refined near the shale oil fields, transported via truck or rail intercontinentally and won't be early as viable on the world market any longer. The ONLY reason for the pipeline to the gulf of Mexico is for the WORLD market people. No pipeline = good for North America.
teerexness 1 month ago
This is fucked. Oil is fucked. You're all fucked.
indeliblecultureclub 1 month ago

“When it comes to the tar sands, Enbridge is Canada’s pusher, pumping dirty oil through unreliable pipelines which are bound to spill,” said Taylor Flook, an organizer with Environmental Justice Toronto. “Averaging at 61 leaks per year for the past 10 years, Enbridge is celebrating over 600 leaks and breaks—and its investors need to know that. Enbridge pipelines are too risky.” Its SAD that people
fall for 1% lies so easily, But why worry, it's are children and there's that will pay the price.
tomuchbabble 1 month ago
Dirty oil, bad idea. 1300 part time jobs and a potential to poison aquifers and surface waters. P.S. it is not your oil it belongs to Canada and Harper's days are numbered.
MegaLuckydog1 1 month ago
So what about earthquakes ? Then what, it spills. If It spills, it should spill right all over you "finest" workers who built it, lets put the mess it WILL make when one of your welds break RIGHT IN YOUR HOME. Then you can sit, drink, eat, shit, and live, in the oil. Like you intend to do, to the life living where you clear land for your pipes. Lets just bulldoze your house down, it will create some jobs, someone has to knock your house over, and clean up.

@youramessedup1 Over the past year emissions have increased in every sector. 276% increase from mining emissions since 1990. This dramatic increase is non other than the explosion of tar sands development. The Environment Canada Inventory Report states, See Tarsandstruth . org and search Enbridge oil spills, The greenhouse effect and planet Earth. "Scholarly articles for carbon global warming ocean rise,"
before 2100 new york, Boston any beaches ,low lands may be flooded.
