Ableton is one of the most intuitive pieces of sound manipulation software on the market. I think Commix used to use Reason but not sure these days. Thier sound changed when one of the guys left and thier methods may have too.

In that case i think you need to try more dubstep.  Don't get me wrong there is some very boring dubstep, but there's some gash DnB also. It may be that you are never converted, but i would recommend giving it a fair go. Until I listened to Chase and Status- Eastern Jam I thought dubstep was just for Ket-heads.
