Doesn't the song at the end sound like, I think it's "Brinx Job" off of Wowie Zowie? It goes, "We got the money, we got the money" etc. I love this jam. Thanks.
@timjmoran that may be true, but at the end of the day, pavement are all millionaires, live in ridiculously big houses and spend all day playing computer games and getting sucked off by cheerleadrers. so whose laughing now?!
@grungesoundsgood I doubt any of the guys in Pavement have ever been millionaires. They toured with 2 minivans and 2 roadies, they all have dayjobs. Ibold is a bartender, West a stonemason, Nastonovich a horse jockey's manager. They were consistently making most money for Lollapalooza and that was because they didn't have any buses/crew like the other bands. I'm sure they're making a killing off the reunion as SS said they'd been 'waiting for the right figure' 2yrs ago, not rich rockstars tho.
@timjmoran can you like, get over yourself? i can't even explain how douchey someone sounds over youtube trying to change or prove someone's OPINION to be wrong with facts or statistics. go comment on a coldplay video or somethin', faggot.
@BIGMAYNEGREGG- Sure.. I can get over myself.. what I have a hard time with is how people like yerself turn into total DICKwads simply because I offer up an
OPINION about their Precious Little Band that they don't agree with ! I don't recall
my post having ANY "statistics" or "facts" as you so stupidly put it.... just what I thought. So if that upsets your delicate sensiblilties, maybe you should do us all a favor and don't look at these blogs!
"We've got the money, we've got money" Fucking brats, love how Malkmus can't even be bothered to sing the songs. "Fuck it, you sing it Bob, and in the next one let's make it instrumental and Bob, play that cowbell lying on the floor by Westies drums".
I loved how Pavement back in the day looked and acted like they could give a fuck about things. Malkmus still acts like that in his solo shows, he will probably still act like that come next summer.
A couple years ago I was living in Moscow studying math. I was working so hard I thought I might lose my mind. The "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain" album was one of my few sources of refuge. On friday nights I would come home to my dorm room crank up the volume on my speakers, throw on "Unfair" and bounce around my room screaming along with Mr. Malkmus.
I *think* that this is from the WHFStival in D.C. In which case I am bouncing around in there somewhere. Still have the 'stellen PAVEMENT' t-shirt from that day...Never before have i felt such a fogey as i do now, posting this to yotube.
I liked it. For me the best was the extra tracks of commentary by the band throughout the DVD for the videos. When Malkmus says "I could use a beer" and Bob replies "Me too, why don't you get us some."
the chorus shouter is bob nastanovich, horse racing enthusiast and percussionist. also responsible for shouting in the live 'no life singed her' and various others i forget now...
This is seriously the best video I have ever seen on Youtube. Pavement is my all time favorite band, and it's fun to see them actually having a good time when onstage. They're so great!!!!
Oh my heavens, this is incredible. I listed to Crooked rain all summer on my bicycle. and seeing how happy it makes them to play it here wil make me even happier when I listen to it later..
yep definitely hfstival. i was there and i think they were the first or second on. it was the only time i got to see pavement live and it was soooo good. what a random find! cheers for posting this!
