  • Man, I can get high by just watching at Nastanovich sing.

  • This band and the Ned's! Fucking brilliant! ;-)

  • 2:34 , that's the 90's!

  • good song @ /watch?v=_FPSKKHO1UY

  • where was this??

  • Which songs are these?

  • @andturim

"Unfair" until 2:30 and then "Brinx Job."

  • 3:41 Malk does not look impressed...

  • YES!!!! my favourite track on wowee zowee!!!!

  • Bob's the best screamer of them all!

  • @funforalgernon

    i thought that was hilarious.

  • @xPsuedo Agreed. I always have a good laugh when I watch this.

  • bob's the man! when i expose people to pavement, this is the video i start with

  • Will Ferrell could play Bob in a biopic

  • Bob comes in early on the chorus the first time, and stays early the whole time. Malkmus thinks this is the funniest thing ever.

  • it just doesn't get any cooler than pave.

  • I went to their reunion tour in Portland. :D

  • @enjoyenjoi638 Dude! So did I!

  • Was this at RFK in DC? What was the event? HFStival?

  • lol pete & pete

  • soooo sloppy! love it!

  • Doesn't the song at the end sound like, I think it's "Brinx Job" off of Wowie Zowie? It goes, "We got the money, we got the money" etc. I love this jam. Thanks.

  • @allanosterm totally. excellent album

  • damn that guy that doesn't really play that much on the instrumental side of things is soooooo fucking important

  • @Mrowlshoes Why you gotta be a dick, dude. It wouldn't be Pavement without Bob, motherfucker

  • @priickk I wasn't being sarcastic.. so turns our you're the dick and the motherfucker.

  • This video makes me smile, which actually doesn't happen very often. Pure energy, pure fun, pure genius, pure PAVEMENT!!!

  • Nerd rage

  • Many thanks for this.

  • they always look like they have so much fun when they perform live

  • I was at this show.

  • How awesome must it be to play to a stadium and have thousands of fans bouncing in time to your songs. These guys are really in a class of their own.

  • pavement much better that sonic youth much better

  • @jacobmal

Curious, why are you comparing Pavement to Sonic Youth and why are they better?

No being an AH, just want to hear your argument.

    Thanks

  • The rewind factor in this vid creeps me out ^_^

One of the top Pave vids here.

  • wow

  • i cant wait to see them live

  • this honestly could be the greatest video on youtube.

  • @charlieCP481516 .. OH SURE.. and Geo. Bush was a GREAT President...ICE

Cream won't make ya fat.. and HEROIN is really OK to "play around" with on a recreational basis.. WHAT- ARE ya KIDDin' me? "Greatest VIDEO on YT"?

You have OBviously been doing waaay too many Bong Hits. This is NOT all

that special. Sloppy, & not very musical.

  • @timjmoran that may be true, but at the end of the day, pavement are all millionaires, live in ridiculously big houses and spend all day playing computer games and getting sucked off by cheerleadrers. so whose laughing now?!

  • @grungesoundsgood I doubt any of the guys in Pavement have ever been millionaires. They toured with 2 minivans and 2 roadies, they all have dayjobs. Ibold is a bartender, West a stonemason, Nastonovich a horse jockey's manager. They were consistently making most money for Lollapalooza and that was because they didn't have any buses/crew like the other bands. I'm sure they're making a killing off the reunion as SS said they'd been 'waiting for the right figure' 2yrs ago, not rich rockstars tho.

  • @timjmoran can you like, get over yourself? i can't even explain how douchey someone sounds over youtube trying to change or prove someone's OPINION to be wrong with facts or statistics. go comment on a coldplay video or somethin', faggot.

  • @BIGMAYNEGREGG- Sure.. I can get over myself.. what I have a hard time with is how people like yerself turn into total DICKwads simply because I offer up an

OPINION about their Precious Little Band that they don't agree with ! I don't recall

my post having ANY "statistics" or "facts" as you so stupidly put it.... just what I thought. So if that upsets your delicate sensiblilties, maybe you should do us all a favor and don't look at these blogs!

  • @charlieCP481516 I really could not agree with you more.

  • @charlieCP481516 this IS THE BEST VIDEO ON YOUTUBE

  • haha! pavement are the love of my life. this video really shows their characters

  • don't give a fuck and he shouldn't...

  • "We've got the money, we've got money" Fucking brats, love how Malkmus can't even be bothered to sing the songs. "Fuck it, you sing it Bob, and in the next one let's make it instrumental and Bob, play that cowbell lying on the floor by Westies drums".

  • I loved how Pavement back in the day looked and acted like they could give a fuck about things. Malkmus still acts like that in his solo shows, he will probably still act like that come next summer.

  • What show was this... DC or Lollapalooza somwhere?

  • The 90's were fun.

  • @beatyw

No they weren't - you just had some REALLY good drugz (hope ya shared).

  • @beatyw I wish I was old enough to enjoy the 90s.

    Man did I miss out..

  • A couple years ago I was living in Moscow studying math. I was working so hard I thought I might lose my mind. The "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain" album was one of my few sources of refuge. On friday nights I would come home to my dorm room crank up the volume on my speakers, throw on "Unfair" and bounce around my room screaming along with Mr. Malkmus.

  • I was too young to see them during this time, hopefully i get to catch them next year!!! woohooooo!!

  • Wait! WHAT! Don't mess with me. They're not. Are they?

  • It's for real - sometime next Sept. 2010, but you prob saw the news on the internet already by now :D

  • Malkmus has kinda of a Lou Reed ish singing style sometimes, its rad.

  • Wow wish i was there how much fun that looks.

cant wait to see them on the reunion tour.

  • These niggas should be sellin crack instead of making rock n roll.

    ballin fo life

  • LMAO, and yet another PAVEMENT vid you trash. Very Dahmeresque indeed.

  • the second song is a demo version of brinx job from wowee zowee so this is pre-1995, right?

  • whats the first song?

  • Unfair. off Crooked, Crooked Rain.

  • thanks. It's my new favorite Pavement song.

  • great vid, do you have more from this show?

  • barney sports a great old japanese au-go-go t-shirt

  • i didnt know barney rubble played percussion and screamed for pavement!

  • Who doesn't love a bit of Bob? Shout man! SHOUT!

  • I *think* that this is from the WHFStival in D.C. In which case I am bouncing around in there somewhere. Still have the 'stellen PAVEMENT' t-shirt from that day...Never before have i felt such a fogey as i do now, posting this to yotube.

  • super Unfair live version! ♥ pavement.

this is my fav song that i play with my band

  • "The South takes what the North delivers" ...two states ---we want 2 STATES!!!

  • who's charles francis VI?

  • Comment removed

  • what is the second song?

  • An instrumental version of Brinx Job.

  • lol i just figured it out yesterday when i downloaded wowee zowee. i iwsh i could have that version

  • i wish i could have seen them live

  • Is this on the Slow Century DVD?

  • I don't think so.

  • No.

  • Oh ok, is the DVD worth buying?

I'm gonna buy it for my 18th birthday probably :D.

    I love Pavement :D.

  • I think it is. If you're into Pavement at all, it's pretty interesting stuff.

  • I liked it. For me the best was the extra tracks of commentary by the band throughout the DVD for the videos. When Malkmus says "I could use a beer" and Bob replies "Me too, why don't you get us some."

  • Comment removed

  • Yes. It's definitely worth it.

  • Is frank black watching them or something? I'm a little confused by the video's notes..

    Amazing performance regardless!

  • who is screamong the chorus ?

  • Are you kidding?

  • the chorus shouter is bob nastanovich, horse racing enthusiast and percussionist. also responsible for shouting in the live 'no life singed her' and various others i forget now...

  • Love the vid but what part of the vid does he do the famous King Francis?

  • *At what point of the video does he make the charles francis VI face?

  • Its uplifting seeing people have such a good time making such excellent music...

  • More of this please.

  • why didnt malkmus ever scream live?

  • yeah ive noticed that

maybe he didnt think people really liked it

  • This is seriously the best video I have ever seen on Youtube. Pavement is my all time favorite band, and it's fun to see them actually having a good time when onstage. They're so great!!!!

  • Anyone know what 3:10 is?

  • brinx job

  • Thanks man!

  • Thanks man!

  • Oh my heavens, this is incredible. I listed to Crooked rain all summer on my bicycle. and seeing how happy it makes them to play it here wil make me even happier when I listen to it later..

  • What song is 3:10. I love that part :).

  • Awesome!

  • youre a douche for saying that.

  • You can have your opinion. I disagree with it, and the hyperbole, but knock yourself out. It's cool.

    Pavement is the best.

  • then fucking leave, if you dont like indie then do fucking comment on indie videos, these videos arent for haters.

  • How original and creative. Does it hurt to walk around life with a 60 IQ and the taste of a cretin? Keep your comments to yourself dipshit!!!

  • This is why there needs to be a Pavement reunion! Everybody looks like they're having such an awesome time. Pavement...come back soon...please.

  • The end sounds like that song that goes, "We got the money...", on Wowie Zowie.

  • GENIUS !

  • what's the second instrumental part???

  • See my post above.

  • yeah i ended up buying wowee zowee. the song's called brinx job

  • more cowbell!

this is the best thing ever

  • WOW

    Perfect Pavement

I would give anything to be able to see them play again

  • the first song is Unfair, from the 2nd album .

  • wats the name of the first song?

  • this is everything i need in my life.

  • no way its from lolla

  • looks like it's from an HFStival

  • yep definitely hfstival. i was there and i think they were the first or second on. it was the only time i got to see pavement live and it was soooo good. what a random find! cheers for posting this!

  • bob looks like he got his wish through the make a wish foundation to sing with pavement.

  • haha, he looks like he's on pills...

  • SO AWESOME

  • Fantastic!!! Vintage pavement you can't go wrong

  • I love this video! I have never seen SM smile as much and as gregariously as he was in the beginning of this!

  • more please more!

  • Rocki'docious!!!

  • GENIUS! Thanks for posting this. Is this from Lollapalooza 94?
