  • So what gives more consistent lines? The felt tips, quills, or brushes?

  • what's the second song called?

    (not the first)

  • Shit I have the same pen but the problem is that I have the ink

  • I use a Pilot pen. The pen I use now is Pilot Precise. I use it lightly so it doesn't bleed. I normally doesn't bleed as long as you don't use it incorrectly.

  • @xXAngelOfDarkness6Xx Try watching the entire video

  • I cannot find a G-Pen ANYWHERE. Well the one you dip anyway. Is it any different than just a regular g-pen with the ink inside?

  • wheres the link?

  • @LindoKorchi what link?

  • ive been drawing for years and still suck at inking.......ill stick with penciling

  • can i use menso brushes instead of a brush pen? and also, how did you shade with black ink?

  • @shinigami2loser You can use whatever you wish, each artist has different preferred tools, and shading with black ink is called "hatching", "cross-hatching" or "stippling". Hatching is making lines, the more you make the darker it gets, cross-hatching the same but instead of doing more in the same direction, the lines cross with each other, and stippling is through making dots, the more the darker. I'm not patient enough to use that one, so I go for hatching and cross-hatching D:

  • burn the pen? now that's a good idea!! i'll try it!! btw..what's the name of the song?

  • Its abingdon boys school not sure what the songs called though..........shit. need to buy there album

  • Is there any hope for those of us who have no art skill and don't want to go to art school?

  • @Rayray4850 I'm in your club! I have no talent at all, if I have acquired skills, the only reason is that I draw everyday and I had a certain season in which I made 50 daily different characters in different poses, so put aside talent and use all your effort, people probably won't be able to tell the difference between one and another anymore ;D Of course, that's not my case yet... but I'm hoping to become the real deal by the time I'm 23 (19 right now) :)

  • @Miganishi ur 19....Mind fuckery...at its best im...i draw comics strips for fun and manga. but im still tryin to get anatomy down perfectly to do some real work. been workin on my original charaters for awhile now. nd im 19 too...

  • what the second song called and who is it by?

  • Ah abingdon boys school !

  • Hey do u think you could check out my artwork?I have a new video called American horror film based anime showing my art I'm 13 and I'd like to get your feedback on it

  • Does burning the tip damage the nib pen after awhile, or is it reuseable? I just got a nib pen for Christmas and the ink is definently not very smooth.

  • @mo7yo7 Well, if you burn it too much it does get damaged, so I'd say the time limit to burn it each time is about 3 seconds and right away dip it in the ink, BUT after you do so, you better have scrap paper near you because you'll then have to separate the edges of the nib (just press it until it cracks softly, test it and go ahead). I got sick and tired of doing this every time so now I use the round pen or don't even burn the g-pen if I ever use it (but the lines are thicker) haha

  • @mo7yo7 BTW the ONLY nib you actually burn is the G-pen, if you have a different nib don't even try it, bad idea.

  • 0:54 Hey lol he has a pe- wait OMG DAFUQ

  • What pens, tools, etc do you need to ink it? How expensive would they be? Any idea where to buy them?

  • @1234567890waffle Dip pens (G and Maru nibs), markers, brush pen, 3 dollars for a pack of 3 nibs + 3 dollars for holder, Brush pen is about $8 dollars and markers vary depending where you get them and their brand, you can buy them at the online stores to which I have links in my channel :)

  • @Miganshi do you know of any vids on here showing how to draw hair i've been having a lot of trouble with it and idk why ;p

  • @Lizagrl12 Well, I have 2 videos on that but they suck hardcore and I'll be removing them soon lol, besides those I really never look for any "how to draw" thing anywhere so I really don't know, sorry :/ What you could do is look for "drawing *whatever character*" videos and see how they go for the hair.

  • @Miganishi alright well thz anyways

  • what pen is that?

  • PLZ SOMEONE TELL THE NAME OF THE SONG!!!!!!!

  • @andrion95 All the songs are in the credits at the end :)

  • after seeing this T.T

  • Are you Obata Takeshi? :D

  • @Relevance583 I wish! XD

  • Those pens looks so pretty *w*

so far only used pencils and pens to draw (yeah noob)

So... i just need go to art store and ask for G-pen? or i need some specific ink or something to start using this tool~ :s

  • @xato909 Well, I seriously doubt they have the G-pen in normal art supplies stores, I can only get those online (links in my channel), but really, I tell you, they're not that special, most of it is publicity and someone who has tested thousands of pens is telling you this, so just go for a set of normal dip pens (thin, medium and thick) and a brush pen and you'll have everything you need to come up with awesome ink work (obviously, you need to be good yourself XD) and just look for India ink :)

  • @Miganishi hah thanks for replying that fast :D

All right then. Looks like my tools fit well for now ^^

But i will see if i can find those pens :) I'm just too curious to know how it is to draw with traditional tools.

  • pretty cool, like the song too

  • Whats a g pen? What pens do you reccomed that are cheap enough a 12 year old could afford? THANKS <3

  • @sydsnow2 The G-pen is pretty affordable if you don't pay a lot for the shipping XD About $3 for a pack of 3 or $10 for the pack of 10, plus the holder which is $3 dollars, and the cheapest shipping inside the US I think is also $3 dollars and you don't need a credit card, you can pay with money order (the webpages are in my channel's description). If you can't wait I think you should be able to get some pens at your local art supplies store, but there the prices vary a lot, so I don't know...

  • @Miganishi wait, A holder..? I looked it up on Ebay, and there is this tablet thingy...Do i NEED that?LOL thanks soo much for replying!

  • @sydsnow2 Tablet? You mean like a digital one? If you want to draw digitally then of course you really need it, but if you rather go traditional then I recommend those old calligraphy pens. If you wanna just edit digitally like adding screentones and such, then you don't really need a tablet that much; yeah, it makes things easier, but it's not essential.

  • Dude, you are a beast with black!!

  • @TheInfoDeprivedOtaku Thanks a lot!

  • i totally called the artist before looking at the thingy

  • fuck your drawing skills. ssick jacket though.

  • A OK

  • no esta en español

  • @juancho60609 Perdon :/ Pero poner subtitulos si se me hizo ya muy cansado por tanta cosa que digo... que puedo decir, soy un peresozo (excepto cuando se trata de dibujar XD) :/

  • no wonder my g pen and maru pen breaks easily, I don't burn them =_=" thanks for the tips!

  • @futarinokizuna Actually, they're not supposed to break even if you don't burn them (I got sick and tired of that and simply got myself a school pen, which inks think without needing fire lol), you're probably pushing it too hard or you just bought the wrong ones lol You're supposed to draw ONLY with the weight of the PEN, don't push it unless you want to thicken the lines (don't do it often or your pen will never make thin lines again, trust me, I know what I'm saying XD).

  • this who vid is just one big pile of sexy XD

  • whose the character u drew ?

  • @SaviourOfThe One of my many OC's, his name is Tetsuo :)

  • The singer of that song sounds familer

  • Comment removed

  • your video made me buy some nibs

THANK YOU SO MUCH for making me discover that! it's so much fun to use than pilot pen (and the results are way better!)

  • What kind of ink do you use? like brand and colour, I prefere it to the jet black I use

  • @arclight9153 The one I just now is the same you just said, but before I used one called "Dr. Phillips" or something like that :) What's wrong with Jet Black? I like it because it's easier to clean and a little more liquid so it doesn't dry as fast getting all stuck on the nib. Of course I don't use thick pens with it or else... but it still works fine for me :)

  • @Miganishi Maybe its the brand then, I cant seem to get the lines looking as diluted as the lines you used on the shirt, is it a certain pen or a good amount of water?

  • @arclight9153 Oh, they're not really diluted, just very VERY thin. As a matter of fact, call me a noob if you wish but I didn't even know you could actually use water on ink lol I did it by barely scratching the paper with the pen in constant speed :)

  • Bakuman!!!!

  • i just got my first g pen but when im done painting should i just take som papper and get the ink of?

  • No me gusto busco algo mas profesional xD igual para un principiante esta bien :D ojala se compliquen traduciendo esto :) suerte

  • what's the thing you used to outline it before you colered it in

  • I wana make a manga, but i'm a total beginner. I dont know if I can make a good one by myself, could you give me some tips? Please respond as soon as possible, I have two comics to write.

  • @wilber502 Well, what kind of tips I could give you depends on your skills, where can I see some artwork from you? And if you're writing the story you could also tell me something about it because for success the story is vital. If you have badass art but lame story, sure, you'll sell the first chapters, but people will get tired of it and you won't be able to continue it. In the other hand, if your art is average or even bad but the story is good... well, check the simpsons or scott pilgrim lol

  • @Miganishi Well the story is about a 10 year old boy named Hyo (made up name) who has a beast called the devil angel, the devil angel is so powerful that his parents set him away deep in the woods with the tools he needs to survive. God(it is partly a chistian manga) raised him to fight for the good side of battle. He thinks he is alone but then meets his sister, then is sent to find Alex, then they have 3 adventures. ( The Black Men, The Lightning King, and Possesed).

  • @wilber502 OMG How come YouTube didn't tell me about this comment!? Sorry for being so late, but YouTube just fails at doing its task! D: I don't think writing your story here is a good idea because somebody could steal it since it seems entertaining. Yet, it feels kinda mainstream so to make it cool I'd recommend you to put a lot of emotion and comedy in there, and then throw hardcore action and unexpected turns in the story, and a really powerful villain would help too, AVERY POWERFUL ONE.

  • WHATS THE NAME OF THIS SONG ITS AWESOME 8D

  • @xXAngelOfDarkness6Xx its called nephillim by Abingdon Boys School :D

  • @xXAngelOfDarkness6Xx the song name is nephilim and it's by abingdon boys school :)

  • @xXAngelOfDarkness6Xx Desert Rose and Nephilim. Both songs from Abingdon Boys School

  • @xXAngelOfDarkness6Xx Nephilim

  • what the song call?

  • @theremustbelove nephillim by abingdon boys school :)

  • Excellent drawing! I wish I could ink like you do! ^.^

  • sick picture :D

  • i looks so easy when you ink. if I use my G-pen it feels like the nib is eating the paper .___.

  • merry christmas?!

this was uploaded on the 18th!

    you know whats even worse?!

    THATS MY SISTERS BIRTHDAY!!! ¬_¬

  • @2112Addyboy Hey! I say "merry Christmas" all December from start to finish, that's the season XD Can you believe that one of the dislikes is mine? LoL

  • OMG now that I see this, I think I really suck xD.

  • If I don't have the Maru pen a gpen would be ok?

  • @animehammy101 All depends on your style and your taste, you could even use a single sharpie if you wish :) but yeah, the maru pen would be the closest thing there is to a g pen when it comes to thickness and hardness, yet it feels rougher so I still prefer other pens :)

  • @animehammy101 im new in the manga thing, but i plan on creating a manga soon... BUT i got a question first... is it posible to "ink" with pilot? and why? nice vid btw ;)

  • I don't know if it's just my hand or like my pen but the lines come out a little rough, is this the same with anyone else?

  • @FROZONER Yeah, that same thing happened to me, it's just a matter of practice. I can recommend you to barely touch the paper with the pen, do it very soft and try to not go too slow or two fast (reference? a 4 inch line in 2 seconds) and keep practicing like crazy, or it doesn't matter how much art you study, it'll be useless. Also it may be the paper, if you draw on rough paper (like watercolor) then it's harder to make softer lines :)

  • Great Artist Cosplay.

  • Nice tutorial, and drawing. :)

  • Thankyou! im working on my won manga and im still figuring out my maru pens but this really helped!!!

  • @bookreviewer12 I'm glad! You can thank me by showing me your manga when you have it ;) And thank you for watching!

  • You are awesome at drawing and inking! Keep it up!!!!

  • OMG!!!! I can draw and ink manga but not that good. u r amazing!!

  • @fluffywolf4ever Thank you! Really! I'm glad you like my vid :)

  • what are the names of the songs used? good drawing and inking btw :)

  • Comment removed

  • when doing tutorials like these please stop using loud BGM's we can't concentrate you know....

  • @tm0041 Actually, most of the feedback tells me the opposite, but you can mute it if you wish :)

  • whats is the first song?

  • @KidManga69 I forgot the name (lol) but it must be in the credits at the end.

  • I so thought it was gunna turn out to be Masaomi Kida when i clicked on the vid and now im disappointed, but good work anyway.

  • @MailKeehl14 Woops, haha sorry, my bad :P hmmm... *googles Masaomi Kida and sees video's thumbnail* HOLY...!!

  • @Miganishi i know riiiiiiiiiiight

  • People always say that g pens and dip pens are pro and stuff, but I find that inking it with games workshop chaos black paint watered down by about 3 water to 1 part paint works very well if you scan the drawing into gimp and then do a 100 opacity overlay to it untill the lines are solid, then go over it with 100 opacity white untill its shaded correctley works almost better, but definetley requires less skill. It takes longer than a g pen but is much easyer, for me, at least.

  • @MrDreamblade Actually, I don't use the G-pen anymore, I got tired of it because taking care of it is one hell of a pain in the ass! So I use normal-ass dip pens that I buy in my local Hobby Lobby :) And yeah, I agree, the tools aren't the pro ones, the pro is the guy using them!

  • @Miganishi i totally agree, i use ink pens that arent even that expensive and it's a hell of a lot easier x

  • aaah mto foda *-*-

    loved it!!!

    you're amazing *-*-* lol

  • this is my kind of video ... step-by-step, explaining what to do after the first step done ... very nice work ... keep it up and teach us more ^_^

  • my problem with using permanent markers for inking is that the pens get used up so fast it makes your suply budget shrink really quickly. If you go to cheaper pens then sometimes the black is uneven, making you have to edit it in photoshop more. Personally I use use a paint brush on the Ink and the markers for more fine fills. That way you don't go through pens as fast, and you get the bonus of using brush techniques for some special fxs.

  • First: Amazing, that was AWESOME!!!!!

    Second: OMGOMgOMg

    Third: ok, I calmed down.

just a few qestions: did you first draw with pencil on the same paper and then put the ink on it?

what kind of ink do you use?

how long have you been drawing that you can do such things?

what size of paper do you use?

have you published a manga? if yes how? (did you just go to a publishing house, showed them some of your manga, and asked them if they would publish it/help you to produce a comic?)

  • @LazyOne07 Thanks a lot! Answering the questions:

    1. Yup, just like you said, sketch first then ink.

    2. Waterproof India ink (I won't mention a brand because I don't use a specific one).

    3. I lost this drawing when I moved but if I remember right it was about 11 x 15 inches.

    4. I haven't published anything yet, I'm working on my first official manga right now, but you can give yourself an idea of how it is by visiting my DA (link in my channel) or watching the playlist "MADEATH" in my channel :)

  • @LazyOne07 I ran out of space so I'll answer the question I left out XP I have been drawing since I knew how to hold a pencil, but I focused on manga at the age of 11, when I made this video I was 16 and now I'm 19 :)

  • @Miganishi ok^^ thanks alot!

  • DAT MUTHER FUKA CLEAN! I MAY B BLACK BUT I SURE LOVE MANGA. !!!! :)

  • @LONZOthaREALIST Black and like manga? What are you talking about? How's that weird? I know a black dude who insanely loves Soul Eater! :D I don't think your skin's color has anything to do with who you are :)

  • @Miganishi he probably just means there are few of us out there or at least stereotypes have defined that a black person would not like anime or manga.

btw I'm black too. ur vids are awesome sauce.

  • @animemefreak74 People who says black people wouldn't like anime? WTF where do they get that from? Really, some people is hopeless u.u And thank you!

  • Every time im Inking a comic the ink can be seen on the other side of the paper. This also happens when im using felt pen. And i saw some videos where poeple use ink on comic and the ink Cant be seen on the other side of the paper?

  • TEACH MEEEE

  • What's the song name when you test the ink out?

  • @YumuHanto 1.- Find out in the credits at the end of the vid ._.

    2. Uhh, at the beginning of the video...?

  • @YumuHanto The first song was Nephilim by abingdon boys school, the second is desert rose by abingdon boys school

  • I'm really knew to traditional-style art (I mostly do digital) so I would like to know what do you suggest as a means of practice? And materials too, y'know paper, pens, ink, that stuff.

  • @shippoiscoolbitches As practice, hmmm... doodle a lot, yep, make fast drawings with pencil until your proportions are right (or you like them even if they're not really right, there are cartoons with weird proportions and they still look good XD). For inking I recommend dip pens on bristol paper, and depending what style of coloring you want you can use either markers or watercolors (I don't recommend colored pencils because they're not as solid as the ones I mentioned... but they still work).

  • Comment removed

  • I loooove watching coloring in fast motion :)

  • @Daylightsavingsux Yeah! We have something in common then! I get all impatient when artists don't just speed up the frikin video and I end up skipping to the last part just to see how the drawing came out XD

  • great video!

random:: your hands look just like mine... 0_0 lol i had to say, i find that very odd

  • at first i thought it was out of proportion but then at the end i saw what style u were aiming at so rocking job!

  • TETSUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @Miganishi thank you :) I luv this drawing it looks like real manga nice work man

  • @KidManga69 My pleasure, and thank you! *w*-b

  • can u make this for mobile playback

  • @KidManga69 Huh? It isn't? I'll do it right now :)

  • With manga pens like G and maru etc, do you have to keep dipping it in ink or is one dip good enough to last? O: Oh and n00bie question: are G-pens and Maru pens just pen holders or are they the nib? O: Thank you for uploading! It was very fun to watch :3

  • @KissVirgin09 You have to keep dipping them, yeah, but not as often as you may think... or maybe, if the ink you use is too thick it'll dry fast so you'll have to clean the pen and dip it again :/. The names of the pens are meant for the nibs, the holders are just called... huh... pen holders XD Free sized or round are the names, round for maru pen, free sized for any other kind of nib ;) And thank you for watching! That was the whole purpose of uploading it :D

  • What is the size of the permanent marker that you always use a your drawing? sorry for my bad english..

  • @PhantomsBlaDes13 Varied size! I randomly pick it from the stores XD

  • @Miganishi thanx....

  • awesome man. Do G-pens work better than other illustration pens? Also do you buy G-pens in just common stores, or just online.

  • @rambo62372 You can buy the G-pen in a common store... if you live in Japan XD I gotta buy those online (see my channel's description). It's not really that the G-pen works better than other illustration pens, it's just that it's more convenient for manga because it's between feeling it rough and smooth (like the perfect intermediate) and you can vary lines easily, but you can do with it the same things you do with your average illustration pen, just the sensation is different (and I love it).

  • @Miganishi oh! cool thanks! ^_^ ive been wondering where these G-pens been hiding. lol

  • @Miganishi is it a speedball?? that is what we call it here...

  • @jurc61098

Speedball is the name brand of a kind of ink. You should use india ink.

Sometimes speedball is a little think for japanese pen nibs, so you might need to add a few drops of water to the ink. Only a few.

I mix two inks to draw. Three Quarters Black Cat India Ink (you can get it on-line from Dick Blick) and one quarter Speedball, since Black cat dries with a matte finish, and speedball is a bit too glossy for my tastes, but I like the ink's darkness.

  • Woo abingdon boys school

  • What is the first song ?

    Tell me please.

    Thanks.

  • @PDR50135 Credits at the end :)

  • @PDR50135 Abingdon boys school - Nephilim

  • @TheExtremeAnimefreak thank you.

  • I just manga studio I don't think i would have the patience to learn inking though I sketch all my own stuff

  • did you go to school to learn to draw or self thaugt?

  • @werewolf265 Self-taught, I looked for things on the internet but I didn't like them, the maximum thing I use is the circle with the cross for the face and that's it, the rest I make the body shape with blue or red pencil and draw with the normal one, then comes what you see on this video lol.

  • Song Nephilim By Abingdon boys school

  • @NonSebastianZ d-(*w*)-b

  • What pens do you use?

  • @xxcathryn96xx Read what the video says ^^

  • Hey , guy , can I ask you about same things?

At first : did the G-pen need to burn every time than you use it ,or just after unpacking(first using)?

And in second: what music plays in beginning of the video ...

PS: if you have a time please answer my question to PM OK?

  • where do u get your supplies

  • this is amazing!!!...i draw my own my shoujo manga (as my hobby) too but i really suck in inking!..finding the appropriate materials here in my place is even harder!!!!

    anyway,good job!i salute you!!!!

  • @momomassubu Nice! Recently a few friends have been telling me that my drawings are now showing a slight shojo influence lol (see my DA, link on my channel :) ). If you like I'll make a video about how you can manage to make good stuff with common and cheap stuff :) the things I use are pure luxury, you don't really need them. If you want the video wait a little bit, first I must get myself a camera (I don't have one anymore lol).

  • @Miganishi that would be great!!!thank you very much!!i'll be looking 4ward to that video!...ryt now,i'm working on a new manga for a contest next month and all i have here are simple materials.your vid will really help! thanks a lot!...

  • I guess I hate admitting it to myself, but after seeing that, I'll admit it; I'm a beginner at drawing manga :(

  • @Graystream23 So am I! Cheer up, bud! There are no rules really to drawing manga, just draw what you feel and that's all there is to it :)
