This sudo apt-get install function is all very well but what happens if there program you want to install isnt located on the linux software databse?
Say for example I wanted nmap... theres a 32 bit version, 64bit version, beat version stable version ect.... Isnt there a way to actually just go to the website, download the pgoram then type in sudo apt-run filename for example? I dont exactly know what the command is.
I am really loving Ubuntu and upgraded to 10.04 a couple of months back. This is a real useful vid as I am trying to get to grips with Linux and I love the layout of this particular version of the Linux distro. Thanks for the tips.

@singhinthehouse Means you don't have 3d ability, most likely you aren't running the proprietary driver.
