if the ap2 is a more forgiving club, then why would one of the best ball strikers in the world play them? btw im talking about steve stricker. just saying
@Thesmoofenator well they are forgiving but some profesionals don't see why they should use blades indtead of benefiting from modern technology in clubs. McIlroy uses blades down to his 6 irons, but his longer irons are ap2
@rtd1995 i see what you mean. i play the 710 ap2 pw-4 and i love them. though im only 13 years old i am a 5 handicap, and that is playing on a course that is 6700 yards
hey mark crossfield. i'm thinking about buying the cleveland cg1 tour irons. i want to stick with cleveland irons because they feel soft as butter on impact but i don't know if that is the case with the more tour inspired cg1 tour irons. could you give them a whack for me please? tanks a lot
I gained 10 yards from getting the mp 63 fitted. I used to use the titleist ZB forged (std everything). I highly recommend everyone getting fit for clubs. Shaft weight, shaft tipping/stiffness, shaft type, shaft length, lie angle all affect the outcome greatly.
The mp 63 doesn't get much spin, so for my 6 5 4 irons i got the mp 53 (same look, more forgiveness)
Hi Mark I am really enjoying your reviews it would be a good idea to explain to your viewers that each manufacturer has different loft settings for example the AP 2 6 Iron is 31 deg and the MP63 is 30 deg. Another point to mention is that a good hitter such as yourself will also deloft the club on the strike. If you have the same shafts in the clubs the data points will differ between the manufacturers spec and the hit, in my experience I also found the AP slightly quicker off the face.
Love the reviews, Mark. But I must raise the following issue - There is so much emphasis placed on proper fitting and getting the correct shaft for your swing. You continuously compare launch angles, spin rates, ball speeds, etc between clubs. Aren't those data points hugely dependent on the shaft, perhaps even more so than the club head? Do you always have the same shaft in each of the irons you are comparing?
Hey Mark! Thanks so much. I'm sold on the 63's cause I do like my 32's with the classic looks. I also do hit the ball REALLY high. Now just figuring out a Stiff or X-Stiff. I've been told I'm right on the line. My 6-iron swing speed is 91mph and driver is 105mph - tempo is average. Any thoughts on that Mark? Thanks again and keep it up!!!
nice video, i'm thinking of buying either titleist ap2 or taylormade r9 irons but i'm not sure. my handicap is 12 so i'm looking for an iron that stops quick, launches high and feels good of the face. if you have any more suggestions please leave a comment. thanks

@Thesmoofenator Steve Stricker has one of the slower swings on tour so maybe he struggles to get his irons up as high as some of the longer hitters

@HKgolfer132 i do agree. but he is great just like every player on tour

Love your reviews. Could you do a mp 63 and 68 comparison if it's not too much trouble?

@ericEsilva this is a while back but a driver speed of 105 is a stiff. Get fit for your irons, definitely worth it :)

you should do the same vid but use the mp 53 instead of the 63's
