Honestly, if Wayne Rooney went to the England football team, it wouldn't be that bad. He'd probably make a good captain. I think he just needs to work on his anger and he's good to go. As for John Terry, I agree that it's going to be like Tiger Woods. Before all this affair rubbish, Tiger Woods was someone people looked up to. I'm not Manchester United fan (I'm from Spain, and I like FC Barcelona), but I must say that I like Wayne Rooney quite a lot, he would be a good captain for the English team. It is true that this sort of scandals can destroy the public image of these people as you said, but it is also their own fault. That's probably why I like Rooney, he seems very stable and focused on what he does (playing football) and he's been keeping the same girlfriend (Coolen) since high-school, I respect that :-)

I keep bias out of my videos, but i singled down some key points. Their are hardly any constant players for England (at the moment) Apart from Terry/Rooney, You could throw in Gerrard/Lampard/Ferdinand but still, they aren't their 24/7, unlike Rooney who is every match.

And for the World Cup, Well Rooney isn't going to win it 100%, but atleast 99% in my opinion (Not from a United point of view ether) Hopefully the other players will finally shape it when it comes to the 'Big' Games.

The convergence of footballer and celebrity annoys me greatly. When my team is compromised due to the media reports on players the i get very angry, especially as i pay £400 for a season ticket each year! We all know about the Allan McGregor saga (well you definitely do if your scottish)

Go back to Danielle Lloyd, Amy Winehouse, Katie Price and those sorts for your scandal! Leave the footballers alone (unless they play in hoops)

no need to put the captaincy on Rooney it just adds a little unneeded pressure on him and even though he's easily the best striker in the world at the moment people forget he is still only 24. Better off making a mature defender or midfielder such as Frank Lampard or Rio Ferdinand if he gets back to his good form.

Terry can't be as good as Beckham at leading English team of course but Rooney is too young for that, imho. Though in future he is definitely going to be England's captain.

As of today, Gerrard and Lampard (at lesser extent) can also be qualified for captain's role.
