I've heard that there is now a version of "Pyramid" being shown in French Canada. Although I'm Canadian myself, I tried watching it once, but I had a hard time understanding it. From what I understand, most of the contestants from this version live in the province of Quebec.
Tu rigole, c'est tellement nul c'est hallucinant. Si tu veux une émission avec des questions de culture générale tu "tout le monde veut parendre sa place" sur France 2. Mais là c'est vraiment HILARANT avec des mimiques ridicules et tout non mais dans le genre émission ridicule c'est le must xD
Judges were strict in the Winner's Circle starting with the 1982 US version. In fact, the CBS Television City set included straps to prevent use of hands. Also no clock.
@dmota104 Rules were very different. Gestures are allowed and the clue giver can say about anything as long as it's not the word (in other words, she's not limited to give a list of things that fit in the subject). In addition, an illegal clue ends the round right on the buzzer (and abruptly I might add)

un jeu intelligent, qui demandait un minimum de vocabulaire et de culture...
rares sont les jeux actuels qui peuvent revendiquer ces qualités :s

I only know a few French words. But, at the 1:00 mark, her usage of her hands would've gotten an immediate buzzer from the judge here in the U.S.
