lovely work, I have one question though, what did you use to get the texture of the vortex? I believe in the original they used polythene bag strips behind filters to get the look or something like that, but how did you manage to recreate it?
@dwho1994 Thanks. Have a look here "//seriss.com/people/erco/2001/." Used his technique to get the pattern from the original title sequence. There's some other random patterns used as well.
F*ck Me Derek.. You've Surpassed yourself here! I mean this is what I wanted the New Dr Who Series to look like!
You know, I'd like to Collab with you one day if you're up for it.

Oh yeah, I've notice that you've done a little clean up from 2:08? The Theme Sounds Glossed & Amazing? Either that, or your Vids are just Superior Quality!
Brilliantly done. Love the Logo and the look of it. You made a bland looking logo look good. Can you please do a Howlaround version? They are my favourite.
I keep replying to things out of order. I've replied to your last post first. Oh dear, I'm tired. Anyway Lightwave 3D for the slit scan effect, the TARDIS, and the logo. And After Effects for the compositing. Oh and Paintshop pro for manipulating the still images.
There were only two slit scan title sequences. One for Jon Pertwee and one for Tom Baker. In both, the actors faces were quite prominent. In fact Jon pertwee's featured him entirely.
You can do a howlaround type effect with lightwave, but I think it's far better the old fashioned way with a camera pointed at the tv monitor.
Ah sorry no. Only did opening titles here. The bits at the end are just extra bits and pieces I didn't use in the opening titles. that's just some outtakes. I've taken your original comment entirely wrong. Apologies.

Your logo fly by is the best I've ever seen!

Thanks. It's a bit overused in my efforts so far though. I like your slit scan vid.

Nice slit scan effects! How are you doing them, if you don't mind me asking? Most impressive.

I kinda liked that.

Yeah the sound on the original is a 5.1 surround thing and it didn't translate over here at all properly. Thanks for your comment.

It doesn't matter how many times I watch it - I still think it's great ... but then I'm prejudiced :-)

and i don't like the Idea that we keep coming back to his face either. In the slit-scan titles the doctors face never appeared.
Maybe you should try doing your own version of any of the 80s title sequences?
Or any of the howlaround ones. Ive heard that you can create a howlaround-like effect on Lightwave.

Im talking about the closing titles that you appear to have created.

No it's my fault for not stating it in my first comment.

actually the starfields featured a doctors head in the closing titles! so this would still be visable for a end credit sequence

Spectacular! Superb! Brilliant!

Cheers mate. Sorry the Audio is all wonky. If you want the full res copy send me a message where to post it to. It's bloody 3GB. Nearly a full DVD

It's brill, apart from the face is from a dodgy angle, not from straight ahead of the person's face, if you know what I mean.
