The VTEC system on the new ones are fine, the early models you could def feel it. I own an '08 and I don't even feel it when it changes. That's with a Staintune set of cans on as well
fantastic sound! i can't wait to get my test done and a vfr 800 bought. to cure the vtec issue you rely need a power comander 3. it will also alow you to get full benifit from the exhaust too. happing viffing
The gear drive on the cams had a resonant peak at exactly the RPM you cruise around town and the noise grates on the ear. When I heard that a new one was coming out, I sold my red '98. A year or so later, I got a black '02 (long story) and it's fantastic.
My only complaint is the VTEC. It kicks in at 7000 RPM so you can really feel it. But, do you really want to FEEL it in the middle of a fast turn? I'd gladly reset it to where the VTEC/non-VTEC power curves cross. Seamless is good! Viva VFR!
Why do People have to Rev the Fucking Tits out the Bike on You-Tube when there Demonstrating After Market Exhaust.
Just Rev it to Fast Idle,................. we"ll get the message.

BIG AMEN. I'm waiting for someone to lose a bucket full of whirly gigs at around 12,000 RPM.

because aftermarket exhaust notes change with brand/rpm and some have to find the "right" one

@TheReapersSon do you still think "VFR for life" with the new one? It totally departs from the original formula!

vfr is nice but looks kinda gay, to be honest, the bars are more sport-tourer, wait is the vfr a sport-touring bike?
