I haven't been to Sea World recently although I used to go once or twice a week. What is the story with the dolphins there? Is it temporary and how long have they been there? They brought a sea lion in one day years ago, but decided it wasn't such a good idea! It was very short term!!
WOW look how big they are in the med pool! also, if you go to the ShamuCam, you see em' swimming in there too. later they are acctually gonna start an "exlusive" dolphin show in the shamu staduim. and one of the trainers gave the hint "believe dolphin style" lol

Such cool footage, do you think they will be doing the same in Florida?

When I was there yesterday, the orcas were in the Show Pool, the other backstage pool, and Dine-with Shamu pool.
I theorize that the med pool was closed off from the dolphins, while switching Ulisses and Corky... but I wasn't watching when it happened.

This may be a silly question, but do the orcas ever interact with the dolphins?
lavendarblue360 2 years ago
Depends on your definition of "interact". They're kept separate, much the same way Ulisses and Corky are kept separate.
I'd imagine they can see them (through the closed gates) and feel each other's echos,

If you want to see orcas and dolphins interacting, just search for Shouka and Merlin here on youtube. :) Shouka is an orca and Merlin is a dolphin!
