I went to Univ, Cinti. I did go to Antioch where we had a chemist make pure LSD. Also, that donut place that only made glazed donuts, open all night from 12AM to 8AM and waited til ther was at a total order of 12 donut and then made them fresh. MMMMM. On the way back once my BSA (Bastard Stopped Again!) '67 441 Victor had condenser roblems. It would accellerate to sixty, die, and roar back to life at 20MPH. Interesting ride on acid!

One of my favorite bands back in the 60s. I saw the Fugs at Cornell University.

To me, the Fugs and their music were part of the intellectual and creative heart of the true Sixties --- satirical, painfully idealistic and honest. How the movement got co-opted and corruptedand commercialized is a whole 'nother story, but their music remains pure.

Tuli's music and writings have been such a beautiful force in my life. As a teenager many of the Fug's music, though from a different era still remain some of the most relatable material for me. Thank you so much for your generosity Tuli and RIP.

@ChuckDeFuque Many thanks. I can still see, in my mind, the streetlight glinting off the cheap portable record player on which I listened to this song, over and over, on E. 11th St. in NYC's Lower East Side in the 60s.

Thanks, VNRose3. I agree totally...I searched for the Fugs original 'cause I love the song, but could only find the Havens cover. No disrespect to Richie Havens but his cover is...well...schmaltzy. So I made the montage with Lower East Side and other images to accompany the original. The Fugs, as in all they did, got the grit and darkness present that are present in beauty. Glad you liked it!
