  • ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! The great Svietoslav Richter would be proud if he was still alive.

  • Breaks my heart that the general public doesn't know Liszt as good as Bethoven, Mozart or Chopin.

  • @Carlisle412 Breaks my heart that the general public don't know music at all.

  • @Carlisle412 I could agree lizst was good as Chopin or even mozart, but not as beethoven, Beethoven is a full apart story.

  • @playsosoft And Mozart isn't? This is a question of taste, I could never say Mozart is better than Beethoven or the other way around. They're both immortal, well deserved.

  • @playsosoft I've always loved Chopin, Lizst and Rachmaninov, but I never liked Mozart or Beethoven's piano concertos (don't get me wrong i respect both of them and love Mozart's operas)

  • Vielen lieben Dank für das hochladen. 5 Minuten des Lebens, welche man mit dem hören dieses Stückes keinesfalls verschwendet hat. Ganz im Gegenteil.

  • @JazzAce340 ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • so fast

  • bitch 'aint even trying that's how good she is

  • Totentanz means "Death Dance"

  • @RandyNewmanFan A better translation, from German that is, is "Dance of the dead". You see Toten isn't death but the dead (as in plural). The French actually refer to it as "Dance macabre" which means something like "Sinister dance".

  • Absolutely fantastic!

  • How the fuck could you dislike this..?

  • Grandios- einfach an Virtuosität nicht zu überbieten

  • Valentina, your videos are featured prominently in my college level music course, after watching all of your videos, this is by far my favorite. You are a truly talented pianist and I hope to be half as good as you are =]

And all this done without sheet music, which again just makes me gush over your talent

  • 0:00-1:09, my heart is melting...

  • The fugato portion at 1:42 enthralls me every time I listen to it; it takes pure genius to be able to imagine such dissonant yet perfect counterpoint.

  • omfg liszt a genius and valentina virtuoso!

  • she plays faster than the speed of sound (hence the delay in the video)

  • Can't help loving her... can you?

  • Fantastic

  • I think your version of the slow section excels Michaelangeli's, if the piece is indeed a meditation on death. I interpret this section as a period of redemption or reflection, a pause amidst the ghastliness of physical and spiritual annihilation, and I think you're doing that just right. IMO, other sections should be more percussive, violent, and disjointed, to help the listener visualize ghasts, articulated skeletons, bats, vents of tartarus, etc.

  • It's not the same not watching it from the start :P

  • Great playing, it's just sad that I have no interest in Liszt.

  • First of all the 26 people are have NOT piano and know nothing about the piano.

The way that you playing .. like an angel.

    4:40 just wow ! O_O

I really want to be your student :(

    Love you !

  • Wow, she killed that shit.

  • this ability!!! Incredible

  • The music performance is so clean and perfected

  • I can't even move my fingers so fast!!

  • what is she playing at the end of the video? can u upload it too? i want more

  • The greatest living pianist! I can say this, because I consider myself a fantastic player, but nowhere close to her

  • @RandyNewmanFan You consider yourself a fantastic player... Are you being serious?

  • one word, WAOUW!! :O

  • 24 dislikes? idgi.

  • @8clitspete yeap, we have 24 deaf people or they just don´t have good taste :-D

  • @8clitspete Those are not "dislikes" - those are the jealous ones wishing they can be as good as she is. Valentina reached and exceeded the perfection in playing the piano. I've been asking my wife to just look at her fingers - just unbelievable.

  • i love her being so natural. and her music... is just like HEAVEN! amazing! how can there possibly be a human being playing the piano so fantastically! i am really really impressed!

i think i am gonna practise more on the piano from now :D

  • I'm surprised she didn't break one the piano playing with such passion! How have I never heard of this woman before?

  • Absolutly unbelivable! Its time for the derserved subscribtion

  • I can only play the radio, but Valentina is the greatest! I know Alkan--I do not think he comes close to her!

  • *Gasp*

  • BRAVO!..MORE! MORE!

  • Please marry me and please me with your pleasant playing.

  • Valentina I do not think you have ever heard of Charles Valentine Alkan, and I want you to know his music. He is a very fantastic composer and I hope you read this. Thank you! :D

  • @OmarEscobarA I agree with you, Omar. Alkan's compositions may certainly become part of Valentina's repertoire. They require a high degree of virtuosity, as she displays. Hopefully we will see some videos...

  • hoooly shit O.O

    wow

  • P.S. My favourite part is at 1:10 to 1:30

  • @TigerTogar haha, that's the hardest variation. xD

  • You are the best I have seen in my life! I play the flute and the piano, but I am not that good. You are amazing!!!!!

  • this has to be one of my favorite pieces

  • BRAVO!

  • For me this is one of THE BEST pianists alive today. Such a passion, such technique....like she is a reinkarnated Liszt, Rachmaninof or Chopin!

I LOVE YOU VALENTINA! I'm your new biggest fan!

  • How do you play those trill notes at 1:24 - 1:30 ??

  • @daytonmlivingston Two fingers and practice. It's a basic rule you learn in grade one piano. or at least I had too =/ and im not saying im great. im only like grade 3-4 max You do it if you play the same note repetively and fast. Its to do with making sure each note will be the same loudness and speed. You just get faster as you learn more and more. Thats like master class right there. I wish i could do it that fast. I can sometimes, briefly but i cant move to another note or i make a mistake :S

  • @Aleskies Oh, and without weighted keys. Its near impossible. well. probly not for her :L but for most people it is

  • @Aleskies to be honest your much better off doing it with weighted keys you develop far better technique, Or was that supposed to be without weighted keys "," its near impossible- instead of "." ?

  • @VanargrandsEnd i meant if you dont have weighted keys then its nearly impossible.

  • @Aleskies three or four fingers, often, too. You only use two fingers when the note is repeated twice.

  • Absolutely gorgeous. I would hate to see the sheet music though. :\

  • amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing

  • I take notice of her large hands. My mother heard Rachmoniaff in Philadelphia as a child and commented on his huge hands. Is this a prerequisite for being an excellent pianist?

  • @lydiadugan No. Many pianists make do with average-sized hands. I don't think Argerich had that big of hands and most people will tell you that she's one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century. My favorite pianist, Idil Biret, has rather small hands too. Large hands only makes certain techniques easier.

  • @lydiadugan There are some songs you just can't play perfectly with small hands because you don't have the span required to play the notes. But do not let small hands be the reason for you not to learn piano
