great guitar but im still a traditionalist id rather get a strat or tele and do that up with dimarzio humbuckers or fit a floyd rose one of the main problems ive had with ibanez guitars is the necks are too thin i like the vintage 60,s fender necks which were quite thick but very nice to play
i have the same stRAp as him and my curent guitar is an ibanez grg sereis ed but im getting the joey jordison signature waRLOCK AND IT COST SOMETHIN LIKE 1200 MY MUM SAID YOU HAVE TO GET THE EXPENSIVE VERSION NOT THE CRAPPY CHEAP ONE
I had a JS1200 and the pickups which were designed for Joe Satriani - the Dimarzio Fred and PAF Joe, were not in perfect alignment with the string spacing! It also had these awful push/pull volume and tone pots which moved from side to side when they were engaged (were in the up position). It is an absolutely stunning looking guitar though and the best feature was the edge pro trem system which Joe has now had changed back to an older version for some reason.
Just bunch of commercial shit. You can hear Satriani isn't really speaking truly honest. Just one line after another of saying nice things to make more money.
@Preludiumi : Not true, some is marketing sure. Speaking about the decision to play on the edge of your ability of not.. that's a real decision all player make as they progress. What he said about Hendrix, that each time he played he sounded like he'd pick up the guitar for the first time, that's true and a deep insight. Satch is a pretty understated guy for such a high profile guitarist... more power to him.

Today, I finally mastered the intro to Satch Boogie, and I felt like I was getting so far in my playing abilities. Then, I watched this video. Nevermind.
@bernhardtsen74 Buckethead with Gilbert at the same place would sound strange, same "copy-paste" licks. The perfect would be Satch, Gilbert and Andy Timmons
@InsanityType66 yeah, i guess the extra $50 comes from the matching headstock then, i think the black headstock looks pretty cool in some color, red is definitely not a good match, im glad they did this on this guitar, i have a js1000 BTB (burnt trasnparent blue) with black headstock and i think it looks awesome, i think i would prefer it over a matching headstock for mi guitar color.
Man, i want the red guitar, but i want the blue, i want the black pearl js guitar, then i want the white, then i want the black dog, the 20th anniversery, the chrome boy, my god his playing and his guitars are beyond incredible, i could listen to him talk for weeks it's amazing, what an inspiration.
erm... well it depends. He used Peavey for his Live in Paris DVD, but... He used Marshall Cabs for Chickenfoot, and is also using them for The Experience Hendrix Tour. Im uncertain about his new sound through his marshalls, but I know that no matter WHAT he uses, his signature amp mic SAVES the tone and makes it BEAST. live anyway.
After practices more then 15 year of guitar i arrived to the conclusion that u didnt need expansive or signature model to be a musician its a nonsense i have an EVH GUITAR but i dont have eddie sound its impossible dont buy signature models to have ure idols models but to build ure sound i have my sound now by any guitar amps or gigs im happy like that even if i wanna a Js 1200 but to play my tick my music on it A GUITAR A SOUND A MUSICIAN

What's the difference between the 1000 and 1200?
sportsportsport 9 months ago
@sportsportsport the 1200 has a high pass filter on the volume knob which maintains high end clarity at low volumes
ottozing 9 months ago
@ottozing The JS1000 has that one too.
Blargaha 1 week ago
@sportsportsport mainly just the neck pickup and color configurations.

I think so, the 1200 has a matching headstock, other than that i dont see another reason for it to cost more.

at guitar center the 1200 is $1800 and the 1000 is $1750... just a lil more
