Live at Nara? It sounds EXACTLY like the version (same synth production, same solos) on the 1980 album Blood Line (with Ry Cooder on slide), also on the David-Byrne-produced best-of compilation Peppermint Tea House. If so, it was recorded in a studio in Honolulu while the band was also there to perform in a traditional music festival.

It's still a great song, of course.

And there's a folkier version by Champloose's guitar player, Takashi Hirayasu, playing with old folkie Bob Brozman.
