  • OMFG!!!

  • Heard that plane can fly with only one engine.

  • GE engines should be applied over RR.

  • it reminds me of the "Visit Australia" commercial her in America THERE IS NOTHING LIKE AUSTRALIA!!! IT EVEN SPREADS TO THEIR AIRLINE!

  • @ghettoperson257 what airline in America comes even close to competing with Qantas?? American airlines? lol dont think so buddy, all your airlines are pathetic and cheap.

  • @holdenls1ssz250 whats ironic is that i agree with you AA has a bad crash history and bad service Delta sucks too all of them suck so you're right

  • @ghettoperson257 would love to travel to the USA though.

  • @holdenls1ssz250 USA is great just DONT FLY AN AMERICAN AIRLINE TO THERE YOU'RE BETTER OFF WITH YOUR COUNTY'S AIRLINE!! ;)

  • dam, that thing's a juggernaut

  • Was it a bird-strike?!

  • @Krisz815 Uncontained engine explosion caused by an oil-fed fire.

  • the ailerons and spoilers are destroyed

  • No Matter What No Airline In the World Can Beat Qantas.. Qantas Is the World's Most Experienced Airline In the World.. And its the Oldest Too =) I Love Australia And i'm Proud OF My Country =)

  • @FunnyNewsReporter shame about the grammar..must be a convict thing

  • @FunnyNewsReporter excactly mate. i feel safe as when im on a qantas plane

  • @FunnyNewsReporter ...singapore airlines is still the safest in the world

  • @rainfulphoenix Oh and remember when the A380 had one of its engines fall off? Hate to be on that flight. Hate to be on any Frenchy Scarebus flight for that matter

  • @FlynAggie14 The cowl came loose, the engine didn't fall off.

  • @rainfulphoenix If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going! The A380 looks like the down syndrome kid of the airliners by the way

  • @FlynAggie14 HaHa, you're American right? what are you jealous that Boeing aint at the top anymore. The problem with the engine was because of Rolls Royce, and tons of Boeing aircraft have Rolls Royce engines on them....so....hmm.

  • @FlynAggie14 wouldn't expect an intellectual comment from a 19 year old American! Grow up! if you can't make a reasoned and cogent argument about a video then don't say anything at all!

  • i dont know what is with qantas but everything keeps going wrong even my qantas model plane are breaking

  • Boeing

  • @FlynAggie14

    watch?v=zd1OTLxRIT4

  • mis huevos son verdes putos

  • ETOPS statistics

  • Yeah theres 2 kangaroos over there. Oh shit one of them just jumped into the turbine Know wonder its smoking... LOL

  • In the beginning everyone thought that the A380 is going to be a modern and safe.

It's definitilly modern, but safe?? i don't think so , Qantas airlines made a big mistake to buy these aircraft and so did the other airlines....

  • @mraltay10

It is not Airbus' fault at all.

It is a safe aircraft as not all a380 planes have the RR engine. Look what airlines have ordered the a380 and what engine type the a380 will have.

Rolls Royce did a big mistake by manufacturing engines that are dodgy, not Airbus.

And these engine blow outs are not common int he a380's anyway.

  • these aircraft is not to safe and not sutable for all airports also, airbus company shoud modify in these aircrafts

  • @finl412 Nothing lasts for ever@ These air planes shoud be banned from fling after 10 years. And then crushed.

  • What was wrong btw?

  • i dont get it the pilots said that the left wing was so badly damaged the hydraulics wont work. do they have a manual control to the flaps and spoilers? i thought it is controlled by hydraulic fluid

  • @50RpJ There is many hydraulic systems, all of them werent damaged.

  • Stick to BOEING!!

  • @ritzkai Boeing sucks balls, Airbus prevails

  • @JundaComputersGmbH your lack of knowledge to aeronautical engineering is beyond me, go back to cars cause seriously airbus cant touch Boeing cant wait till the 747-8I 777 and 787's start to lower the a380's order percentage much more economic and passenger friendly i wouldn't like to be stick with 500 other people the 787 and 747-8I much more economical money to airlines with rising fuel prices, its 10 percent lighter percent per seat than the a380 lowering its fuel cost, the 747-8I is longer

  • @houshidar558 LOL listen to you Boeing fanboy fags, when an Airbus crashes the Boeing fanboys goes NUTS hailing Boeing and bashing Airbus but when a Boeing crashes all of you say its not the Boeing's fault, Boeing is the best no matter what !!!!

Well the truth is, the 747-8 is just a stretched 400 with new engine and new cockpit, rest of the plane is still 40 years old in design. The A380 uses 10% more fuel but carries 30% more passengers, so it uses less fuel per passenger, YOU learn the facts

  • @JundaComputersGmbH fan boy fags? grow the fuck up and learn something you don't see us going to random airbus videos going airbus fucking sucks but idiot likes you with big mouths just make them look bad the 747-8I has better range opacity's much better technology lighter weight materials making it more fuel efficient than the a380 The wings have been improved since the 74-100 and on and the freighter with better payload results, learn something go back to school.

  • @houshidar558 Why don't you look at any Air France Flight 447 video, 90% of all the comments are Boeing fanboy hater comments against Airbus saying Boeing is the best no matter what !!! Well the A330 is safer than its competitor the 767. It never had major fatal accident before Air France 447. It crashed due to pitot tube blockage, which Birgen Air Flight 301, a Boeing 757, also crashed for the same reason. You're Boeing biased just because you Americans hate everything isn't American

  • @JundaComputersGmbH well thats them, not me im not hating on airbus or Boeing i like airbus because of its FBW and its saftey and i like Boeing cause efficiency of course there gonna be some dumbasses going around saying airbus sucks.

  • @houshidar558 Well I hate it when American companies are being selfish and greedy and hold a monopoly, meaning its the only maker for this product so they have absolute control of the market so can raise price so high and do whatever they want to make more money. Just like Apple, they hold a near monopoly in iPods and iPhones, and they raise price so high and rip consumers off so bad it really pisses me off, that is why I prefer an alternative brand and not be part of the monopoly

  • @JundaComputersGmbH agreed, your totally right and this is why this country is the way it is with our oil prices jakced up, pepole getting layed off, its horrible after i finished in the air force i didn't have much options, but im working on my ATPL tests.

  • @houshidar558 Ok go study your test

  • Qantas pilot : ”PAN PAN PAN. I hit a flock of kangaroos and have a damaged engine.”

  • @orientgate lol

  • the engine drag a kangaroo at take off

  • whats the smoke comming from the engine even when the plane stopped is it fuel or did the pilot activate the fire extinguishers just in case?

  • I wonder why they have spikes on that fence. Are they afraid anyone will go on the runway and get run over by a plane? wtf xD

  • @fuunguus spikes? so what should be there? big plastic dildos?

  • @INeedToLiveLonger Nothing. Why waste money on spikes, I just wonder why...?

  • At the time I thought this was a one off, hay Qantas was meant to be the safest airline in the skies. Since then there have been a further 3 recorded Qantas A380 engine failures, 8 747 engine failures, 4 A330 engine failures, 6 737 engine failures, 2 767 engine failures and 4 other technical issues. I doubt I'll be flying Qantas any time soon, 28 problems since November is too many for me.

  • @cheesemaster1000 The A380 engine incident wasn't Qantas's fault. If you think Qantas isn't a safe airline because of what you listed here then you clearly have no idea about flying. The A380 had an engine defect in Rolls Royce engines, which was already identified and corrected. As for other engine failures, they happen all the time. Engine failures occur even with proper maintenance and they are not usually a problem. As long as it's a contained engine failure, the plane will land just fine.

  • @CommanderDenton I know engine failures are a common occurrence but not that common! Every week now I scan the news and see that yet another Qantas jet has made an emergency landing somewhere because of something. Didn't you hear even the pilots are threatening to go on strike over flight safety? And did you see the pictures Qantas engineers recently released showing fatigue cracks that went untouched for two years on a 747?

  • @CommanderDenton Also, although not necessarily a big safety concern, 3 A380s have made fuel emergencies in the past week because pilots are being pressured to carry less fuel onboard (and therefore less weight) to be more economical. All well and good but as the airline has found out the hard way, any changes in weather (headwinds) and the pilots run out of fuel.

  • @cheesemaster1000 I'm not entitled to make such claims because i have no inside sources and the media can't be taken seriously as well. What I do know is that Qantas has one of the best safety reputation SO FAR. There are airlines with more incidents and even accidents, most of them that were easily avoidable and yet they took lives. I hope Qantas's and other airlines' passengers just stay safe wherever they fly. I'll just leave it at that. :)

  • @cheesemaster1000 they carry less fuel cuz they are trying to minimize the loss that this aircraft generates everytime it takes off....the 787 will doom this aircraft, just like the 707 did to the concord,...please forgive the brutal honesty.

  • @wilatemodel Here in Europe practically all airport expansion has been halted, primarily because of environmental campaigners, so there are limited slots at the airports (take a look at LHR for example). This means that airlines have to order larger airplanes in order to continue to grow (if you can't order more aircraft, order larger one's instead). Take a look at BA, they have the largest fleet of 747s in the world and now they have jumped ship to the A380, I'm confident they will order more.

  • @cheesemaster1000 Im sure your right,...but i think 4 every A380 sold,Boeing will sell 5 787's..its just economics...

  • @wilatemodel Oh yeah you're right too, there is a need for the 787 in Europe don't get me wrong. It could be an A320 or 737 replacement.

  • no smoke, water condensation

  • Jst wandering, when the plane was landing where was that smoke coming from ? Also what are those flaps called that pops up.

  • @Davf126 air brakes.

  • do the plane not lose pressure?

  • The video from inside wasn't taken from A380, look how short is the wing, and how low is the plane.....

  • @samiloub1 You're a retard. Look at the flaps, the winglet, ailerons. Of course it's a fucking A380.

  • @ieatyummypoo Go eatyouryummypoop idiot, you have no idea what I'm talking about, and obviously you are a fag who like to run his mouth about a subject he is clueless and very ignorant about,,,,look again idiot to the video which was taken from inside the plane, then go to Wikipedia and research the specification of the wings, Does it look like that the wing from that side 38 Meters you schmuck???????

  • @ieatyummypoo ieatyummypoo Go eatyouryummypoop idiot, you have no idea what I'm talking about, and obviously you are a fag who like to run his mouth about a subject he is clueless and very ignorant about,,,,look again idiot to the video which was taken from inside the plane, then go to Wikipedia and research the specification of the wings, Does it look like that the wing from that side 38 Meters you schmuck???????

  • @samiloub1 Fag is a bad word please don't say that.

  • @ieatyummypoo plus where is the second engine from that angle?? I mean inside video???? go eat your poop

  • @samiloub1 Look at the outboard ailerons. They are divided into 3 segments. No other Airbus plane has that. The wing looks small possibly because of the camera and the way it was taken. Obviously the No. 2 engine is not visible because of the wing and that the flaps are extended

  • the video from inside is not from A380, look again and see how short is the wing and how low in the plane,,,BS

  • All I know is that these planes are having lots of problems for such a new niece of equipment. It's only a matter of time before one of these goes down.

  • @Handiman544 Modern plane won't go down easily. We are not living in Wright Brothers era.

  • did the left outer aileron got separated from the aircraft ?

  • Flight mode is fine these days, including the camera.

  • I THOUGHT YOU WERE NOT ALLOWED TO USE CELL PHONES ON PLANES,THEN WHY ALL THE PICTURES

  • @34775101

Some airlines allow it, and some people don't care and will film anyways. Won't hurt the A/C.

  • @34775101 You can use cellphone BUT in flight mode ... it means no signal is allowed but you can take pictures.

  • fuking news generation of planes

  • Qantas just totally rules.

  • All i can say is thats the kind of Pilot you want flying your airline... and guess what?? Qantas has got him!! God Bless that man!!

  • This was actually a very serious incident which didn't seem so at first. The explosion of the engine blew shrapnel everywhere and actually ruptured a couple of lines and the plane therefore developed serious control issues. There were dozens of emergency alarms in the cockpit but the pilots did an amazing job a landing this whale intact. Could have been much worse.

  • tnx God passengers survived

  • The largest passenger plane has already had loadas of emergency Landings, so not gonna sell well.

  • the captain is a legend and a hero

  • It has to be difficult landing with one thrust reverser since the a380 have two one on engine #2 and 3

  • @tew6 the a380 doesnt need 2 thrust reverser's it can land at speeds of 130knts, they had to install at least two to meet FAA requirments!!!!!!!!

  • @tew6 I believe it counters the yaw for you in an engine out situation, I'm unsure about that when using thrust reversers but in many cases they're unneeded. (i only know general stuff through my dad who's a pilot) :)

  • ... I'll wait for version 2.0

  • a year ago....i was flying with them on board the airbus a 380....i prefer lufthansa for it,s onboard service, ponctuality, and very nice crew as well....

  • Testament to Airbus and the flight crew that they could even fly that thing with the numerous amount of problems it had!

  • The captain of that aircraft is probably the best pilot in Australia..

  • So lucky QANTAS, U had engine failure and U can flight to europe until now... Several airlines had only one accident and they got banned...

  • @vandykusuma Good English.

  • @LandRoverWay23 Hahaha, you're awesome.

  • @vandykusuma

Qantas runs a tight ship, it's not a two bit airline like those banned. They've had some incidents, but that doesn't take away from the fact it's an internationally highly regarded airline.

  • "Yeah mate! have you seen any kangaroos recently??!"

    "haha"

  • @skaterkidsown1

    HOW IS THAT FUNNY

  • @skaterkidsown1 Just got back from the roo races actually.

  • @skaterkidsown1 There are some just down the road from where I live. Australia FTW

  • @skaterkidsown1 whats more funny, is how you think kangaroos just hop around everywhere...idiots

  • "Hey mate!, look at those kaangarroooos!!"

    "o.o"

  • @Xylugan2010 your comment doesnt make sense... its like me saying " hey boy, look at those exposed sewage pipes in our city!!" or " watch your toes, you might break them on our uneven walkways"

  • Comment removed

  • @holdenls1ssz yo m8 calm down.... i didnt mean it, was just making stuff for thumbs up ^^.... dont take it so seriously bro.

  • @Xylugan2010 bloody americans....

  • @Xylugan2010 Hey mate look at those refugees...fuck off

  • @Xylugan2010 "Hey mate!, look at that ugly animal oh wait... its your mum..."

  • Hats off to the crew, job very well done, considering the out of trim limits and over weight landing, hydor failures etc etc, blown tires and cooking brakes with Jet A1 flooding the pavement, what an incredible job...All praise to the crew and their professionalism. I would hate to think what the ECAM was telling them!!

  • @quinnyfly Totally Agree!

  • Conditions were dry on landing. That is all fuel coming from the wing on touch down. Amazing there was no fire.

  • @encinobalboa The A380 uses nitrogen generators to inert its tanks and reduce the risk of fire in the even of a spark or fuel leak. I'm amazed how relatively smooth the landing was given that she was seriously over weight with excess fuel in 1 wing he couldn't jettison. I could be wrong but I don't think any aircraft has ever survived an unconstrained failure of this magnitude before, great work by the crew that flew her & engineers who designed her.

  • @dru4m Correct. The plane survived only due to an excellent crew, and an exceptional design, though the accident did highlight a few problems I'm sure Airbus are addressing as we speak.

  • @AGrandt Good point but I must say that Airbus haven't come out of this looking all that bad (especially given how gleeful some segments of the media have been at this story) Qantas seemed pleased with their support. Rolls Royce however took a beating, especially from those within the industry. They've always been known for engineering great engines but the last 2 or so years have been challenging for them.

  • @dru4m The problems I'm talking about are more along the line of seeing if they can reroute some of the backup systems away from the leading edge. There's also the very large number of ECAM messages they received in very short order, if I understand it, the pilots did comment on having to ignore or cancel a number of them, as they were getting messages about various systems being off-line when they already knew this as those were running off the damaged electrical and hydraulic systems.

  • im really not surprised that it happened to qantas....eventhough it is the "safest" airline in the world.....qantas had to make two emergency landings in 2008...once with a b747 from hong kong to melbourne.....this machine had to land in manila and the another one was a a330 from singapore to perth....it had to land in learmonth(??)....it was the fault of rolls-royce but im not surprised that it was qantas airplane that had to make an emergency landing

  • @DaddyS1234 This particular problem is not the fault of Qantas.

  • Comment removed

  • even the most reliable engine will fail once in a while

thats why there are 4 of them

  • I'm really wondering how could the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 Turboshaft engines of Qantas Flight 32 suddenly experience uncontained engine failure?

  • Very Strong sefty from airbus

  • BOEING IS THE BEST ...

  • @miamiguy72 no they not lawl :P

  • @miamiguy72 not realy ;D

  • @miamiguy72 hence the 3 year-delay they currently have with the 787...(?!?)

  • is qantas bad?

  • @pricelessppp nope, its the manufacturing of the engine that was bad, not the airline company :)

  • @pricelessppp it was the manufacturers that fucked the plane up.. not the company :) Airbus sent over an inspection team to find out wat the issue is :)

  • @pricelessppp No, they have the (if not most) remarkable safety record around. They were formed in 1920 and have never lost a jet.

  • Comment removed

  • @Sujikaaa you cant even spell QANTAS rite, what would you know? this was a rolls royce fuck up not Qantas, they obviously don't design and manufacture the engines...

  • @holdenls1ssz yeah and you can't even spell right as in right and wrong.

  • @LiamKroes you can sound like a dickhead if you want but ill stick to rite. the point is you cant spell Qantas for shit.

  • @holdenls1ssz man what a dickhead

  • @LiamKroes its not a spelling test you arrogant little fuck.

  • @holdenls1ssz why are you so mad jeeezz you people are crazy.

  • @holdenls1ssz why are you so mad? im just telling you so you know the next time you have it right, be thankful you little shit!!

  • I live in singapore

  • A380 crashed youtube.com/watch?v=cLauU4pxEVY

  • Buy American.

  • The "explosions" or loud "blasts" were likely the result of a compressor surge, caused by failure of airflow through engine. Alone, seldom a serious problem once proper action is taken by crew. Those actions include nothing (if engine recovers on it's own), reduced power (slowly reapplied afterwards), reduced power for remainder of flight, or engine shutdown. However, improper action could lead to a more serious problem.

  • Qantas, until recently, had an absolutey flawless safety record. They're also the oldest, most experienced airline on the planet. Lately, however, shit has been hitting the fans - probably because, in 2005, they moved much of their engineering/maintenance offshore. I'm Aussie, and I love Qantas, but something's got to change :/

  • @smittyguitarplyr Offshore as in where?

    Thanks.

  • @mtb416 - Asia, somewhere. I think it was Malaysia, to be specific. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with Asian maintenance, but the issue surely raises questions, as the incidents seem to match up time-wise. Qantas' onshore maintenance was obviously state of the art, considering their record.

  • @smittyguitarplyr That was my guess. I have family in Malaysia (who are Americans), and they tell me that businesses there are difficult to trust due to shoddy workmanship. The Malays have to have affirmative action for their OWN people since Chinese immigrants have proven to be so much more reliable.

  • The Problem is the germa engineering (R)

  • I feel safe with Qantas.

  • Well actually aircraft are very safe in 2010, if you go back like 30 years aircraft where falling out of the sky all the time. Modern aircraft like A340, B777 have been flying for a decade, and only with two hull loss non fatal accidents.

The 747 has had 28 fatal crashes in its lifespan, a 747 freighter even had a fatal crash 2 months ago. Bet most people never heard of it.

  • I have not xperienced the A380 fitted with the Rolls engines. After the problems with the RR engines on A380 I will never fly them until they are really fixed. Go with EA instead as found in Air France, smooth as silk, silent, comfy and economical. Pratt-Whitney also go with the toughest into space.

  • uncontained engine failures are near impossible to defend against (from the planes point of view). Thats why engine manafacturers spend so much time trying to find ways to stop them from happening. Unfortunately, in this case..it happened. A boeing plane wouldn't of come out of this accident any better. It was an error on part of RR, and airbus or boeing (who both use RR engines) cannot defend their planes from this type of incident unless they make their planes bulletproof (literally)....

  • As you see only half of the spoilers are extended and flaps also are not fully working, reverse power was also impacted, eventually, the pilot burned down four tires to stop the plane and brakes temperature rose over 900°C

adding to this the plane was dangerously imbalanced because the rear fuel pump was disabled and nose gear came down thx to gravity.

    passengers were very very lucky

  • i dont know why people keep bashing airbus and the a380... the engine had the problem not the plane itself... the engines are even made by airbus, they are made by rolls royce...

  • I think the 380s are just a little to big an overgrown. Just lowering the flaps sounds like a C5A cargo door coming down! That larger size needs much bigger engines and components that are under more stress. The 777 seems to have a good balance of size and efficiency and has fewer engines coming apart.

  • @ExplosiveDonuts My point exactly, it seems like it was sheer luck that the debris didn't hit the fuel tank, the problem is present and apparent, and I think we're all glad though that nobody had to die to bring attention to it.

  • @ExplosiveDonuts What I can see is that all the people landed safely and confortably... Good job A380 !!!

  • Dedicated to those who think Boeing has no problem : remember rudder issues on the 737, which have caused at least 3 crashes.

  • for me in that situation thumbs up to A-380 Its a good aircraft performance.. its a giant aircraft handle that kind situation well done :)

  • @sleepermac you both are morons

  • Airbus? more like Airbomb

  • wow an engine failure, nothing to be pessimistic about. the whole purpose of the design is if in case of an engine failure the plane must land safely. It done its job.

  • @sleepermac no it was Rolls Royce the engine maker u dickehedad!

  • Thats going to be bad for the image of airbus...

  • @Speedster159 Why, The Airbus performed greatly considering the extensive damage done to it's wing. 1 engine down, massive fuel leak on one side, with the transfer pumps down. One of two hydraulic systems knocked out, one electrical system knocked out, limited control of the outboard engine on the damaged side. No slats, partial flaps, and seriously overweight landing...

It's Rolls-Royce, the engine manufacturer, that are having the image problems.

  • Qantas customer care sometimes leaves a lot to be desired--see my video.

  • @sleepermac If me and my co-workers did the maintenance of the DeHavilland and exercised All the AD's and SB's it would be a pleasure to fly in it. As long as ckarling was NOT the "pilot". Good night!
