@LoginosP sorry its the way youtube displays the comments, in the complete wrong order! When running the ALS the map also has over run fuelling, so there is lots of unburnt fuel hanging about, hence why you get the massive flames.
Shortest explanation is that during off gas periods when there is not enough exhaust flow to keep spooling the turbo, some gas is injected to the exhaust manifold to burn and spool the turbo. This way when you open the throttle again you have immediate boost available.
It is very harsh for the exhaust side of the turbo and the valves as there is more backpressure momentarily.
So I wouldn't recommend it for a motor that runs on stock internals. Stock exhaust pipes are also not usually made for this so you can end up cracking them. I think also you need to check the exhaust side of your turbo often to make sure the turbine wings don't loose any pieces.

Absolutely no problem, glad to help. I think your Impreza would definitely be sick with als but it just wouldn't be worth the wear on the engine components. Do you have a programmable ECU and launch control already? If not, that would be the way to go for incredible launches and extra power.
@Senetus Yeah i Have Motec M800 and my next step is to install launch control and i've also considered ALS but like you said it would be Sick to hear and helpfull in a race but i dont want the turbo to wear out or harm it as well as the exhaust so i don't know yet...But i must say it's really tempting :D
@MrNousmeister1 Not sure how familiar you are with ALS but you have combustion happening in the exhaust manifold. It will definitely wear things out fast. It is useless for circuit or drag racing and something really only for rally, thanks to the lower RPM range found in that type of racing. Drag and circuit racing, you are shifting at high rpms whereas in rally, its much lower with only a 2-3000rpm P. Band. Also, heat soak is an issue. Disregard if you know all of this and it doesnt apply.

I think you have a lot of better options to add still to a turbo charged car before anti-lag. Do you have water/methanol injection already? Are you running with a stock gearbox or sequential?

Plus you can usually adjust the ratios much easier than in stock gearboxes. Is your engine running on stock internals or have you done something to it? How much power are you putting out at what boost pressure?

I'm going to buy another Escos next year. Was wondering what Turbo to use if i was running mild anti-lag. Was looking into GT30 or the T4. But i have heard stories of the GT30 shitting its pants when used with Anti-Lag so the T4 would be the better option.
A stock T4 wouldn't take anti lag for very long, You'll need a marham 247 shaft and turbine wheel for the turbo as these parts were desinged to run anit lag were as the internals of a stock T4 weren't.
