A raised lip would have people tripping. Some tracks have a raised patterned rubber strip by the edge of the platform to stop stuff from rolling but the incline here was so great that the momentum the pram had might have kept it going any way. Maybe they should grade the platform with a slight incline towards the edge as well.

You have a point but I was thinking of something right at the edge. If someone is that close to the edge they should be aware of their position. My aim was to avoid things rolling away out of control, such as a carriage or even coins or anything small and round.

Or they can just have a railing that protects things that are rolling and people walking. The railing will have a gate or a passage way to board the train, simple as that.
