Regarding fights, they don't always build momentum for a team. But if fights were momentum builders, then surely Boston would have won the Cup a couple of times since 1972, no? I'm not saying Boston won't ever win the Cup again but you can't win by having fights as a momentum builder.

Yes Boston is deeper than Detroit and San Jose. For one Detroit has ZERO depth at goaltending, so I can't even understand why you'd put them in the discussion. San Jose is closer, but defensively they're not as consistent 1st line through 3rd.

As for fights, unless you've never played or watched hockey then you'd know that winning a fight is a momentum builder so its not negligible.
