this is good but in order to get the real test you don't have to put everything at once and let it cooked instead especially after you put the "berbere" you have to cook it at about ten minutes, if it gets sticky you can add some drop of water through out the process. then put the other ingredients one by one and don't forget to stir and let it cooked from 10-15minutes the more you cooked the more it become testy. finally add the water and let it cooked.
Hey thankas for posting this... I am curious, are these the same lentils that I eat on top of the Enjera when i go to the ethiopian restaurant? I am trying to recreate that experience and I'd like to lentils to be soft like at the restaurant too if possible... thanks again
@Joelluks We eat this in Eritrea(found in east Africa which is north of Ethiopia). My mother used to cook this delicious lentilis for me. We call it Timtimo.
Thanks for sharing the recipe Joel. Do you have the recipe for Ethiopian style pasta sauce. If I am not wrong its called "Sugo" or pasta-be-sugo. I am also looking for other Ethiopian recipes like Doro Wot and Ethiopian style Lasagne.
Hey you did good. But if I may, I think if you stir the ( brberey) red paper, with just hte onion and oil befor adding anything, it will be more testy and less spicy. good luck.
i love your recipies.. i can't wait to see more Ethiopian food from you.. if u want recipies just ask me... have u tried to make string beans... it is my favorite

@Catapult903 I used a couple of tablespoons, if not, too oily, but use your judgement. :)

That is good! but, stir a little more on the Berbere though. It will reduce the chilliness. Thank you for loving Ethiopian food.
