  • Bravo, thank you for sharing your gift with us. God bless you with more happiness than your heart and hands can hold. Please play Dittersdorf in D maj...

  • Wow that was spectacular!!! It's great to see more female bassists out there!!

  • this is the best recording for vanhal's concert I have heard! Congrats! i really want play this concert

  • how much did that bass run you and who made it?

    amazing job

  • I think you are a great player!!! Wanna see more...from Argentina...

  • major props for the flawless string crossings with the German saw.

    That's a feat in itself!

  • Que chido tocas, ademàs de lo hermosa que eres, si me casarìa contigo.

  • I admire most your lightning shifts. Nothing breaks up phrasing like double bass shifts done slowly. Magnificent!

  • Your bass is thunderous! Beautiful!

  • Nice :)

  • you are a truly amazing bassist.

i also play the bass and i wish i could be that good!!!

  • that was quite excellent great recording job and your sound had a wonderful tone

  • Wow i've never seen someone hold the bow like that before. Great job!

    Way better then most of this bass crap on youtube -_-;

    Yours is very good!

  • It's a german bow

  • It isn't heavy to hold

  • wow!! great job!! better than most of the guy bass players on youtube...even the ones in an actual concert. you rock!

  • that a big ass bass

  • Actually its a 3/4 sized Bass. A full size bass is even larger.

  • shit i would not be able to hold it up

  • do it have harmonics

  • @zaokoyechatma Yes it do have harmonics. As with all basses.

  • actually yea it is a 3/4. a 4/4 ive only seen 2 or 3 people play them. they bigger and require a lot more stretching

  • you are absolutely incredible. your tone is so awesome it sounds like someone singing.

  • Awesome!!!! Double bass forever!!!

    More power to you!!!!!

  • This is really some of the best double bass stuff on youtube

  • yay gaelen!!!

this is my awesomeness bass teacher who is super cool!!!

  • awesome. i wish im that good. everytime i watch good players play it makes me want to practice even more. because im lousy. =(

  • wonderful performance! your left hand shape is perfect, resulting in your amazing intonation. post more!

  • great sound ,great playing, beautiful music.

  • great playing thanks

  • Terrific playing. Best of luck on your recital.

  • That's a nice bass. I still don't have enough to buy my own, so i have to use the ancient school bass :'(

  • Sounds great. I normally dislike the Vanhal because of the absurd tessitura it goes up to for the second theme, and I've always thought it sounded much better down the octave like you did. Great interpretation, post the whole thing sometime.

  • you can tell that you practiced well. great job and i love how your bass sounds.

  • This is a part of Vanhal's Concerto in D. Played very well.

  • WOW, You are so Awesome!!! I love how it sounds, the song is so beutiful

  • Wow! What piece is this from?

  • This is a part of Vanhal's Concerto in D.

  • @FA45ACP its the first movement of the vanhal concerto

  • is that a cello or an actual stand up bass?

  • It's definately an actual bass. Just whenever they play basses fast they always tend to sound more like cellos because they're using higher notes.

  • That is most definitely a bass! The way you can tell that it is a bass and not a cello is because it's more than twice the size of a cello. Notice she is sitting on a high stool because the bass is so tall. A cellist would be sitting on a regular sized chair. Also, notice the shoulders of the bass. They slope drastically. Cello shoulders are rounded like a violin.

  • Wow.

You should get your girlfriend to teach me.

Or get her to play Saint-Saens's Allegro Appassionato.

    Absolutely beautiful.

  • I have saved this a play it to make the world right again. Thank you.

  • god DAYUM that was badass!

  • That was really good, if I might add a constructive criticism try not to pull your arm up while you're bowing in the upper register because the bow is slanted when you pull your arm up, great performance!

  • hey can i talk to your girlfriend.....lol nice playing!

  • Nice!

  • B-E-U-tiful!!!

  • How she can make this kind of deep sound!!

  • Lots of Practice.

  • nice bass with a low c extension

  • I Love This Video!! You Have A Very Talented Girlfriend!! =]

    *

  • wow the german bow...I haven't mastered that yet. lol. Love this, I didn't know there were too many women bassist. I've been playing for 5 years, I'm 15.

  • I love it. Great Intonation. I was wathcing this with my GF and told her that I would need a stool to sit on as well lol.

  • i love it finally another woman bass player.

i am a woman bassist we need more women to play this wonderful intrument

  • :] YAY!

    I'm a bassist too! ^^

  • great playing. bass has an extension. you sound like a cellist on the higher notes

  • Lovely music and lovely attitude. Thaks. I hope you broadcast more of your girlfriend.

  • It's really nice to see another female playing the bass! xXx

  • It sounds amazing. I think the lighting in the other video was just making the finish look much glossier. Love your technique.

  • Beautiful music. Is the bass in this film different from in your open mic night film.

  • No, its actually the same instrument. I think its a German Bass thats a little over 100 years old.

  • That was absolutely fantastic. You have perfect intonation, Edgar Meyer style but as far as I can see, without the lead pencil fret markings. Your tone and interpretation is absolutely perfect. Thankyou.

  • I am very impressed. The tone is wonderful; very dark and full. Great intonation and rythmic accuracy. I'm looking forward to hearing more from her.

  • It would be neat if her boyfriend played the mandolin or ukulele.

  • good tone..

  • Wow, I'm very impressed.

  • love the techinque....love the intonation...love the sound...and German Bow...thumbs up!

  • wonderful endeed.want much listen with her.please

  • i think that is the best Vanhal record in this website. Thank you.

  • Very nice playing whoever you are. I think that this concerto was recorded about 35 years ago by one of my former teachers, Roger Scott. I have also heard someone play it in Eb major with a different tuning-(starting with the low string) Bb,Eb,G, and Bb. Strange to our fingers, but really easy to play since the all open strings create an Eb maj. chord!

  • I like very much the Vanhal's Concerto, specially the Ludwig Streicher's version.

  • ..I so want to know what that piece is. She plays perfectly.

  • I'll ask her. She told me once but I cant recall what it was.

  • That would be the Vanhal Concerto in E major...but she isnt playing it with solo tuning, so it sounds like D major. I never thought I'd hear this piece played so well on youtube!

  • Yeah, she's fun to listen too. I'm going to try and get more of her up here as soon as I can.

  • I like it. ^_^ i play it too. i love how ur gf is doing the German Bow Hold. ^_^
