"Right to work"!? That’s a real Interesting play on words. The only thing that "Right to work" policies create in America is the legal justification for employers to do whatever they want with workers’ rights. No wonder these campaigns are backed monetarily by the richest people in America. They don’t have to worry about workers’ rights.
If the NRA is allowed to lobby and pass useless pieces of legislation that allow nut jobs to own semi-automatic weapons to "defend" their families, I think it’s more than fair that any political interest group should be able to lobby in congress . And more so if it’s hardworking Americans organizing themselves to pass legislation that their legislators won’t pass because they simply don’t care about working conditions of middle class Americans.
by giving money to politicians witch are not answering workers needs, unions are entering politics, and we all know what it is, but it is not about politics it is about truth, giving knowledge to people and using that money to educate and organize people. like this it become just waiting for something to be produced by politicians. peace and use knowledge
My question is-why do we just keep going with the present day situation of government? Why are we paying taxes, any more, when we have all these special interest groups supporting the white house? And where do these unions get all this money to just give away?
@judysims from Union members, dues ,stock investments ,retirement funds ,Bank interest ,strong arming companies ,and they only give to Dems so that kinda saves them from fairly contributing .They dont care if their member might not want to donate to the libs they know whats best LOL sorry couldnt even say it with a straight face
Unions can't compete, even when the government gives them special privileges. So unions demand even more: the right to force people into their unions without a secret ballot. This is an unconscionable power-grab. No forced unionism. No bailouts for corrupt unions.
ask george bush where he got his money from....drug companies health insurance so is mean why health care is not affordable in this country what you have a problem with unions contributing to to canidates why dont you talk about the money that has been givin to politicans to keep the unions powerless and the flow of corporate greed in this country you need to read lou dobbs book war on the middle class where ceo make 800times what the average worker makes i dont think i know lou is pro union
Unionized workers receive more generous health benefits than nonunionized workers. They also pay 18% lower health care deductibles and a smaller share of the costs for family coverage. In retirement, unionized workers are 24% more likely to be covered by health insurance paid for by their employer.
@FluxCapacitor2008 Meaning they need LESS Medicaid and Medicare from the taxpayers. There's minimum wages and then there's the minimum living wage. I worked in the banking and insurance industry for years. The Banks and Insurers treat their loyal workers like SHIT. Seriously..Get toward retirement, throw them out so they don't have to pay their pensions/keep the money for their own GREEDY asses. Never met a company that has a union that didn't deserve a union and that means banks and insurers.
The most sweeping advantage for unionized workers is in fringe benefits. Unionized workers are more likely than their nonunionized counterparts to receive paid leave, are approximately 18% to 28% more likely to have employer-provided health insurance, and are 23% to 54% more likely to be in employer-provided pension plans.
Strong unions set a pay standard that nonunion employers follow. For example, a high school graduate whose workplace is not unionized but whose industry is 25% unionized is paid 5% more than similar workers in less unionized industries
I still can't wrap my head around why exactly a person working at Ford or GM, whose employees make an average of $28/hour, cannot afford health insurance for themselves and their families. I mean, their pay comes out to be about 50-60 grand a year, right? You're telling me that, if a person keeps all their other expenses in check, they still can't afford health insurance? That sounds bogus, if you ask me. My mom makes 40 grand but we have health insurance, for crying out loud.
I know a lot of people that say they can not afford health insurance but in reality they can. They don't know the difference between needs and wants. They buy anew car an over sized house etc.
Last I checked, companies employed INDIVIDUALS for INDIVIDUAL pay. If your family's not making enough, either get your significant other to join the workforce with you, or get a better job. It's really that simple.
And have any of these unions ever considered that maybe a big part of the reason membership has dwindled is because most Americans are fed up with their nonsense? Nonsense like giving union dues to shitty candidates without their consent. Or closed shop states.
Childcare workers unionizing? WTF! Seriously, aren't childcare centers not that big in the first place? And secondly, that's ridiculous. You know it's gonna be crappy pay with probably benefits going in, so why the fuck didn't those employees find a BETTER place of employment? Unions and benefits are just an excuse nowadays for workers to take crappy jobs and not actually plan responsibly for the future and still mooch off their employer, rather than get a degree and high-paying job.
It's like the bullshit arguments for raising the minimum wage for the 2% of low-skilled workers who work at McDonald's or your local grocery store. Their productivity never really rises (not that I'd expect it to by much), so they don't deserve pay raises. Call me old-fashioned, but I believe a person should only be paid what they're WORTH, not paid according to what some idiot Congressman or president thinks they're worth. Or this ridiculous concept of a "living wage."

Why does Lou Dobbs have Mark Mix of the NRWC on his show?
Mr. Dobbs, are you a traitor to the working class?

These right to work idiots are not working class people.
They cannot help me get the salary or the benefits I deserve the way that my union can.
This right to work crap is hurting the working man more than anything else.

The Country should become right to work, since too many unions have abused their members.

The impact of unions on total nonunion wages is almost as large as the impact on total union wages.

I wish California was a right to work state. The unions have a lot of the hospitals all locked up and closed shops.
