  • he sounds a bit like randy newman

  • the church is true. the gospel is true. joseph smith was a true prophet and because of his obedience to the Lord many including myself have been blessed beyond words can say.

  • @countryluvr21 agreed :)

  • I went to his viewing. He was an amazing prophet! :)

  • @iplaydrumsnguitar I would have loved to have been there but my heart was there. I was consoled by knowing that at least he would finally be reunited with his beloved wife.

  • First, I hope this post is allowed. I disagree with LDS theology but I treat you with respect. Do you allow reasonable descent? Please ponder: When asked of the signs of the last days, Jesus said a lot of things. But it was one thing he said most. It was that in the last days many would come and preach a new gospel, a new Christ. So, we now have LDS, JW's, SDA's etc Common teaching? All 'restoring' the lost church and teaching a Christology that never existed before. So, about what Jesus said...

  • @robotwookie Yes, Jesus did say that. He said many would come and preach a new gospel. Jospeh Smith was a 14th year old boy who was confused of all these new religions and preachers teaching the word of god. He didnt know which church to join. So he did something smart. He prayed to god and ask which church is the right church and god said none is preaching his words in the way he wants it preached. So he asked the 14yo boy to start his own church and write down what god wants him to preach.

  • @sovandareal Folks, it's simple, what was the greatest warning Jesus gave of the signs of the last days? Ones would come with a new Gospel, a new Christ. It has come to pass. JW's, LDS, Christadephians etc. They all claim there was a great apostacy and they here to restore 'the true Gospel'. ALL of these hundreds of groups claim this. ALL OF THEM. Connect the dots. And remember what Jesus said about an angel bringing a new Gospel as he received.Do not follow it!Oh yeah,DNA proves the tale false

  • @robotwookie actually that is not correct even I know that all of those faiths do not have this belief. You keep bringing up the verse about an angel of darkness yet we quote that same verse and believe it as well. The DNA argument holds no water as the Book of Mormon actually speaks of the native people's who already lived in the America's when the people arrived so thus the miniscule amount of DNA those who sailed from Jerusalem would have contributed over two thousand years is virtually nill.

  • @robotwookie The fact is that we teach of Christ, we preach of Christ, the cornerstone of the gospel is Jesus Christ without Him it woud not exist. For the truth about our beliefs go to lds dot org :)

  • @AequitasVeritas7777 I'm familiar with the site. You just preach a different Christ as he said people would do in the last days. It's pretty simple.

  • @robotwookie you say you are familiar yet you clearly are not familiar with our actual teachings and beliefs, If so you would know there is only one Christ that is Christ Jesus of the New Testament the one that was foretold all throughout the book of the Old Testament. The one born of the Virgin Mary, who ministered, performed miracles, atoned for the sins of all minkind, was betrayed by Judas, was killed by crucifixion, resurrected and ascended into heaven.

  • @robotwookie I would concur with sovandareal except that Joseph actually was asked to be an instrument, as all prophets throughout history have been asked by God to spread His gospel--to restore the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and pattern it after the primitive church which existed when Jesus was on the earth complete with apostles and prophets. As I understand theologically-the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only faith that actually claims a complete Restoration.

  • Being LDS is the biggest blessing in my life!!! I am so grateful for the guidance that the Church has given me!! I don't know where I would be without it!!

Such unexplainable HAPPINESS!!!! :D Endless happiness! :)

  • Being Mormon is wonderful there is no way a news program can cover the intrinsic rewards following such standards can bring.

  • ...respectable people say when asked a question

  • Yep, that is what respectal

  • A beautiful man with an uplifting sense of humour.

    Rest In Peace President Hinckley.

  • "yes sir...yes sir....yes sir"

  • 60 minutes is the best news show on tv by far...

  • If you guys are intrested about this stuff, then just read there bok.

  • @chrstilen5 lol

  • @carlasue88 God works miracles by small means, such as science.

  • @livenlarge13 exactly as we believe the Holy Ghost inspires and helps us to be able to invent, create and move forward with technology. It is wonderful :)

  • @AequitasVeritas7777 Well said brother!

  • Except that men do not "dominate mormon society."

  • @mundusvultdicipi The women's organization in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints founded in 1842 is the oldest and largest women's organization in the world.

  • @mundusvultdicipi not only that but women were allowed to vote before they were allowed to vote in the United States in general.

  • My Goodness, an accurate introduction to Latter Day Saints! Well done. I'm grateful.

  • @mundusvultdicipi Do I take it you are a fan of Mr. Wallace and 60 Minutes? I thought this was a great interview myself. Mike did a lot of great pieces for CBS News.

  • @ 7:23 - If Men did not hold the priesthood, they'd be more than happy to just be hunters and gatherers. Raising a family takes two and if women held the priesthood and not men, it would be too great a burden for those gals to handle all priesthood responsibility, be a wife, a mother, and run the homestead.

Husbands and wives work together as a team. Women are given certain priesthood promises in the temples which promises that they are "Queens and Priestesses" unto the most High God.

  • "More than religion, it is a lifestyle."- Mike Wallace.

So true. It is on parallel with comparing a diet to a lifestyle. Diets don't work. Just as religion doesn't work (in my opinion at least) unless it is practical and is a lifestyle just as being healthy is based upon a full lifestyle and not just a temporary change it diet and/or exercise.

  • @AequitasVeritas7777 Then what's the difference between an elaborate religion & plain old commons sense?

  • @AequitasVeritas7777 *bows to you* Thank you for pointing this out.. All belief systems are religions, and all religions are lifestyles, because if you do not live by the principals which the religion teaches, then that only makes you a hypocrite, and we all know how much the world despises a hypocrite.

  • @GreyWolfLeaderTW thank you for seeing something so obvious that I am surprised not everyone realizes this :)

  • He never stated what type of pants he was wearing, so we do not know what material his pants were at the time of the accident.

Garments are a symbol of our committment, it is not the physical material in the garments that is a protection to people it is the covenant that they make with God to obey His commandments. Just as in the New Testament it states "if you love me keep my commandments." If we obey God's commandments blessings will follow, angels may even administer in time of need.
