  • The tone of the people speaking, especially when that woman says "take care" reminds me of being a kid here in Panama when the US invasion of 1989 happened. It struck a chord inside somewhere. Not a good feeling.

  • Being Real, and being Nice. I am glad that he and his crew were able to experience our Military in this way. Unfortunately only when something very bad is happening is when people get to see The US Marine Corps...being themselves...in this way with no agenda other than trying to help people that need help. Helping them no matter where they are from. Who they pray to. JUST helping people that need help. As all Marines I have known would love to do for people.Semper FI! Always Faithful.

  • Anthony Bourdain is one, if not the best personality on TV. He is the best human being, the best writer etc... How can i forget what he said when he was on the plane home from Cyprus after ten days in Beirut: "I was thoroughly discouraged, filled with shame, and didn't have much hope left for the world".

Well said. The Lebanese love you and we want you back in our beautiful country!

  • Great episode. Kudos to the marines for a job well done.

  • Free Gilad Shalit, kidnapped 1902 days ago.

  • @Microglia1...hey d1psh1t the show was aired. i watched it about 5 months after the bombings. Try getting your f@ck1ng facts straight.

  • now you know why this show was not aired. Somebody thought it is too sympathetic to the terrorists...eh..hem...Lebanese...

  • Good Job Tony very nice work

  • i don't know if anyone felt the same but that part of the boat evacuation was very emotional. you try to feel waht they felt at that very moment.

  • I love what Tony said about the Marines. Im glad to see that he appreciates us. People talk so much shit about us and say how we are baby killers. People need to open their eyes more.

  • Smokin and jokin is what the Marines do best. Yut.

  • So sad...

  • i am from Lebanon i left in 06 to canada i did not even know who tony was until a year ago when i got hoocked to his tv show and now i find that he was there and got a small taste not of just our food but about what we went threw in life and i think that that is something remarkably genuine &human of him.

now i have returned 3 months ago to Lebanon for good surely for ever no matter what happens and i really hope that i could actually meet bourdain on the streets and get his autograph 1day peace

  • waw

  • as much as we would like to make this about food and travel, I just can't help but feel this intense feeling of sorrow for the Lebanese people, and for the palestinians. It is so unfair and very unfortunate what they have to go through.

  • wow SOMETHING INTERESTING ON TV?? !! WOO!! GOOD WORK . DOWN WITH ISREAL!!

  • @bergsteinlife why hate israel? I know the muslims have a good claim to it, but the problem with Israel is, EVERYONE has a good claim to it, first it was the israelis, who lived peacefully with the muslims, (case in point, the christian bible makes mention of Abraham, or in the muslim world, 'ibrahim' whose stories are identical) and then there are the christians, who held most of israel for a while, and whos religion was born in both Israel and The west bank. why not just get along?

  • This was so emotional for me. I cant imagine what people went through during those bombings. Reminds me of Pakistan where my parents are from.

  • TV as never been as good as this.

  • I was in Lebanon in the 2006 war too, and what he explains is exactly what happened. We escaped through Syria, and it was horrible.

  • so sad. My parents did the same thing. Thanks Anthony for going back....and doing it right!

  • I always hold his visit to the Rust Belt (Buffalo, Cleveland, and Detroit) above all other episodes but this is probably the most emotionally crushing "No Reservations" of them all. It was probably Bourdain's finest hour as a television host. I thank him for showing a people with truly heroic optimism that things will get better...no matter what.

  • You could tell that it felt like he owed the Beirutis a proper episode so he went back and did it as the way he meant to do it.

  • better than cnn

  • Im a lebanese american.. i was in lebanon at the time of this and this is the most spot on depiction of what happened and what continues to happen to that beautiful country... it has not stopped me from going back i continue to go to lebanon.. Anthony Bourdain truly captured what happened and what people had to go through.. i would thank him if i could but id like to thank you for posting this

  • @armillions Thank you for your opnion. I am not Lebanese but I love your country and your culture (especially your food!!!). Hope that people in Beirut soon find peace again.

  • I Just got back from Beirut and it's back to normal: clubbing, good food, beautiful vacation spots... Until Hezbolla does something stupid again, of course.

Very nice (and sad) episode Tony. Always been a big fan.

  • What an amazing hour of television!

  • Probably the Best of No Reservations.

  • Fantastic.

  • Great episode. It's a complete shame the Travel Channel never shows it.

  • Thanks for posting this, Tony did a great job in this show, I like to fact he always show the facts and not biased , Thanks for the amazing show.

  • what an amazing job Anthony Bourdain did with this story. It became less of a food show and more of a show about the real world and real situation. Unscripted and real, great job.

  • Brilliant.

  • Thanks for posting this - Bourdain really impressed me here - the whole thing was obviously a huge shock.

  • thank you for posting. it's too bad things like these happen in lebanon.

  • Tony and his crew make tv useful again. thanks

  • Thanks for posting this. I have not seen it in the UK yet. As peterscotty said, from not knowing if any of the footage could be used, Tony Bourdain has once again done a fantastic piece of work, presented us with a very personal and touching account of his experiences.

  • Thank you so much for postig this and the other 4 parts... I've been dying to see this and the travel channel never seems to replay it.

  • Thank you so much for putting this up!

  • Thank you for posting Tony's trip to Lebanon. I had searched everywhere and finally found it here. Thank you again!

  • not since "circle of Deceit' another movie about Beirut has something touched me like this. And on the larry king show he was so unsure about what to do with the footage. very honest very good

  • Thanks a million for posting these - facinating.I've now watched all of them ,not your usual Tony show but very much in keeping with his style.

  • Thanks for posting this up dude... Every episode of No Reservations needs to be up on Youtube...
