i think melissas new outlook after survivng cancer has changed. most of her older *GREAT* music came from pain or anger or sadness so the sha-la-la-la, i like it, she is an amazing singer either way. Pop? no, i'd call it upbeat, optimism.

cos it sounded quite pop.

she's done rock, blues, R&B, acapella and soul, but pop?

you can't limit this powerful singer to a box.

l had to concentrate on the lyrics

to hear the poet hiding behind the up jingle.

and they were magic words

to help ward off the black cloud

that often darkens our waking hours.
