I wonder if anyone here is old enough to know that most amazing bands (noteably those who have influenced TMV) were all criticized heavily in the beginning for comparisons to other big bands who were leading the way in a particular genre. Rush is a great example, their Zeppelin comparisons were so heavy they thought it would end them. TMV is no exception, look at Cedrics "crowing" clearly done by Roger Waters in Pink Floyd decades ago. Look at Santana and tell me TMV and CON started similarly

Almost everywhere this group are discussed, I see speculations like "They sound like The Mars Volta or not." Guys, I listened to a lot of bands that are similar in sound to the Mars Volta, and Children of Nova not apply to them. Closure in Moscow still can be, so that is doubtful too.

CoN has their own style, epic and melodic, and except as falsetto vocals are not reminiscent of TMV.

Highnotes fricking epic, Better than Cedric! Scream the verses more like him too. This band is clearly not a Mars Volta ripoff, this has this whole super mainstream accessible hardcore vibe about it that is not at all like TMV *cringe* and so I would not listen to this. This just makes me want to go listen to TMV, because everything that doesnt sound like TMV sounds like crap to me. Since this isnt carbon copy I cant like it :-P You should perfect imitating TMV, theyre the ONLY good band.

And When he queafs out of his goliath dick a new movie appears in front of him, fully produced. Sure this guy from nova has obviously got some actual vocal coaching going on and he's no doubt much younger than cedric, who probably destroyed his voice by a bit during ATDI but is still nonetheless a lyrical genius and sounds good enough in the studio.

Heard about Children of Nova through Rockband & OMG, they have become my new addiction. Not sure how they're not popular yet! The awesome part is that this isn't even the best song on the CD. The best is called "The Order" but it's not on Youtube at the time. But just gonna say that Children of Nova have become one of my favorite band & this song is AMAZING! The singer's vocals are absolutely stunning!
