  • If we are still on the train trip, RVR should be taken back By Kenya Railways and all the top managers told to go home

  • wow fantastic scenery...

    5 stars

  • Its simple really you pick up the token before being allowed to pass onto the single track and then hand it over at the other end then a train travelling in the opposite direction can do the same and take it back to the beginning, "no token" "no go" on the single track. This makes it impossible to meet a train head on!

  • @zonkozonko The problem I see with such a system is that, if the next train that approaches the block is traveling in the same direction, it must wait until a train comes from the opposite direction to bring the token back. On a lightly traveled line, delays would seem to be inevitable!

  • I really hate hearing a white man's analysis of anything African not least because of his bias but the utter rubbish often contained in his reportings. He will mask killings, rape, exploitation, domination, oppression, etc.. then go back home to make movies about countries that are "still recovering from the economic crisis of the past", ofcause conveniently forgetting that in making of the ecomomic mess, he would have been part and parcel of it if not at the centre, with his beloved gunpowder.

  • @MzeeMoja1 Mzee old man and Moja number one, well I have lived in Kenya and whilst in England, built Railway carriages still being used in Kenya. Whilst on one of my recent visits to Kisumu some fellow railway workers were more than happy to give me a cup of tea and take me down the track to look at the coaches we built in the 1990's As I said the Token system is shared the world over and a token is what it says What you use in Kenya or Africa may not be what we use but the Idea is the same!

  • @zonkozonko

Sounds like you met with some very nice men.

  • @zonkozonko

Good you noticed Africans have been ALWAYS hospital to FORGEIN GUESTS, at times at the expence of their own good.

Hopefully, the hospitability of Africans is reciprocated by those who seek good in all.

  • The Token system is used on railway systems worldwide including Tramways. "token" is the valued word as it does not matter what the "token" is you do not proceed without it on to single track, thats railway law world wide.

  • can you explain to me how exactly does this system works?

  • THIS IS CESKIE DRAHY (CD) HAHA :)

  • Mr "Clagfest"

Cast your eyes 10 cm to the right of the video and you will see the date this clip video was filmed......

  • I want to warn other train-Enthusiasts that there are four supposed enthusiasts who have been using thug tactics against any other users who disagree with them. Until I challenged them they even had videos showing themselves attacking other enthusiasts. Their names are clagfest, Kaprotfai, A9107 and D664.

  • Very nice video. I would love to take a trip to Uganda.

  • When was this film shot?

I ask because when I went to Kenya a couple of years back the locomotive hauling the train out of Nairobi (MLW built 92 Class) were confined to shunting duties and short trip workings.

If these fine machines are plying the rails once more, another trip to Kenya maybe on the cards. Many thanks

  • I meant that this train trip was experience of lifetime :o)

  • that was me means of transport to visit grand parents, nothing has changed it very colonial.

  • I took that train! It was an amazing experience.
