I wonder why they pretended the other woman doesn't exist when they paired 2 of you with 1 guy. After-all the Bible does allow for a man to take on multiple wives, pretending that both of you were his wife would have been very consistent. It just seems Christians fall away from their roots as time passes. They don't even defend the position that the hungry should be fed or ill receive medical treatment despite Jesus's teachings.
This poor girl is in torment because she believes in God and as a result of such, she knows she has to go to hell one day for being a lower-than-life - lesbian. She is miserable and in torment because she knows that she is living in defiance of God's Laws and commandments. If she was a non-believer like she asserts here and there, she would forsake the religious issue altogether and move on in life. She frantically looks for someone out there that will tell her she is right and ok.
i think a christian lifestlye is aboutt; readingg that your prophets did incestt & then preaching against it, knowingg thatt they did pologamy & then shunning other religions thatt allow it, knowing thatt the women are meantt to cover thier heads, even if its onlyy a church & then ridiculingg those that do it, knowing thatt thier religion hates gays then themselves pretending to be okayy with it, erm basicallyy doing whatt the bible says only the opposite :-/
@blackbrothapride I've seen my Christian friends being challenged by atheists, being challenged by Muslims etc. plenty of times and they have always remained gracious. If someone loses their temper when being challenged it's a sign that they may not be as mature in their faith as they think they are.
What kind of sadist would force you to plan to have your own kids when there are so many orphans? Sounds like part of a Christian lifestyle to her is making babies purely out of social/religious obligation instead of taking care of the childen who already exist and need parents.
Christian lifestyle entails loving God with all your heart, mind and soul and living your life as a response to His love for you as a born again believer - which means that following Christ's teachings will be a joy not a burden to you.
Honestly the people I have met through church since I became a Christian are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met period. Seeing a Christian lifestyle is seeing God work in that person's life and work through them in other people's lives.
SHE MAKES UP ALOT OF THINGS! SHE SAID SHE GREW UP WITHOUT ANY RELIGON...BUT YET GOES TO A CATHOLIC SCHOOL? BULLSHIT! IF YOUR PARENTS WERE "ATHIESTS" AND WHY WOULD THEY PUT YOU IN A CATHOLIC SCHOOL? SO I KNOW SHE IS FULL OF BULL-SHIT! SHE BASHES CHRISTAINITY AND BURNS THE BIBLE...BUT WILL SHE BURN HER QURAN? NOPE!
Christian Lifestyle: Strict, blind following of rigorus doctrine disregarding independent thought and decision making for benificial self-righteous class control. Pertaining to intellegence level, it's inherent in the theology to be brainless and to turn the blind eye on persecuters, singling them out, to preserve their presence in daily life. There is no talking to people like these, I would rather be incapable of retaining any intellegence then have the cognitive dissonance these people have.
The Christian Lifestyle to me entails a man and a woman getting married in a church (the woman is a virgin), the woman giving birth to her first child after 9 months, and all the while, being the perfect little homemaker while the man goes off to work every weekday and then sits on his fat lazy ass on weekends. After three or four kids, he eventually starts screwing the office whore but she never knows about it because they're a good Christian family...
@thomasbieber323 Thanks so much :) I've been saying this for 6 months now, but I'm really planning on getting back to making videos again here soon! I even have a topic and plans to record it next weekend, but we'll see how that goes :/ I've made false promises before....
Okay, thank you for answering my questions, I have a better idea of where you stand now religiously. Or non-religiously, I guess. I think that you're an amazing person from watching you're videos, and I do believe in God but I subscribed. You can message me if you have any questions about religion, or about how I don't have a religion but do believe in God if you'd like. And don't listen to overly religious people that say you're going to hell, that's not right... AND PLEAS
1. Absolutely not. I've never prayed, since I've always lived under the assumption that there is no god. I have no anger towards this idea many people hold, since you can't hate something that isn't there.
2. Just because one likes an idea doesn't make it true. I like the idea of a world without disease, yet that doesn't change the fact that people die of diseases all the time. I won't deny reality just to feel good.
2. Just because you can't prove something exists doesn't make it false either. I understand that we'll never truly know what happens after we die, but for me I can't accept that I will cease to be after I'm dead, I can't deal with that kind of boredom!
3. We all have faith in something no matter what, the issue is when we wait around for our faith to do things for us.
From an Agnostic to an Athiest, thanks for the video!
@thomasbieber323 Being angry at a God is not atheism. My older brother went through a similar phase as you did and then returned to his beliefs and now trys to convince me that I am the same way, even though I have never believed in a god. People like my brother think they have experienced being atheists and, for that reason, have a position of wisdom and experience to tell others how to think/live, but the truth is they never stopped believing or they would not have had a god to be angry with.
LOL! I got as much of a kick out of this just now as the first time I watched. Right now I'm working on a 'lifestyle' vid concerning the place of art/recreation/entertainment in a supposedly 'new testament' based life. (what a joke!)
Christian life style means, boring, no fun, racist, sexiest, hateful, ignorance, murder, gulibility (not sure if I spelled that right) rape, incest, Did I miss anything?
I dont know if you know who kenneth Miller is, he is a cathlic but he supports evolution and he has a Phd. in cell biology. He is a far cry from the traditinal creationist thinkers.
you know as far a christain lifestyle for it means nothing since i wasn't ever raised with relgion i never went to church my parents kind of went and the last time i sent foot inside a church was in 2002 i had choice in that matter since it was for a wedding that i was in i was an usher but since then i haven't set foot in a church nor will i if i can help it
@TheLonelyImmortal hey idiot, it's a CATHOLIC high school, if you don't want that stuff you don't go to a CATHOLIC high school, and you would never win that case because its not a public high school, it's a CATHOLIC high school, herp derp
I wish you sued your Catholic school and it made headline news and they shut down that brainwashing mockery of a real school and the supreme court ruled that such schools violated the rights of students and all of those Christian establishments had to stop indoctrinating children while posing as an education system.
I was already really interested in psychology and so it was a match made in heaven hehe. I couldnt tell you how annoyed the guys we met with was when this brats comes along and actually knows what the antidepp pills does and calls him on his bull. Anyways how does religion class work in Usa? Do you have secular conversations during class, and how does the teachers talk about other religions.
Priceless story i recognize myself a lot in your story not the lesbian bit obviously but the bit about always trying to best the teacher but in a meaningful way.
In sweden we dont have Christianity class btw, we have religion class. And its often about the 4 world religions Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Hinduism.
But later you can choose more. Which i did. Where you can interview people from smaller religions for ex. I got Scientology, it was amazing.
Christian literally means "little Christ". I would think that logically you would define a "Christian" lifestyle as one that attempts to emulate Christ. However, Jesus said very little about marriage or other issues, mostly focusing on heaven, miracles, and love.
When asked "What are the two greatest commandments?" Jesus' supposed reply was "Love the Lord your God with soul mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself". THAT would be a Christian lifestyle, nothing more, nothing less.
None, I come from one of those Nordic koofer countries where religion is optional and private, and only taught within Sunday school however I read the bible just as I read Happy Potter! :)
I had to take a catholic religion class when I went to catholic school in middle school, but aside from by believing in what was taught, it's was pretty painless. The answer to the questions on the tests was most likely pray, read the bible, or go to confession. Haha good times good times :/
@100ProcentNasze When did I say religion was a good thing? (hint, the answer is "never") However, I am not the kind of person who has a litmus test for such things. Just because an institution has religious affiliations does not necessarily mean that the institution is inferior. My Catholic school education was much better than I received in public school, not the least of which because it was LESS religious than the public schools in the area. I'm sorry I'm not closed minded enough for you.
@BornWithoutReligion Right, I'm closed minded? It is YOU, in almost all your vids, that is bashing on something or someone! Please, a little look in the mirror before attacking someone.
Back to the point. Not liking religion that much, it was pretty easy for you to take advantage of the finer points of CATHOLIC-run and CATHOLIC-sponsored education. Thanks to donations of Catholics everywhere, your teachers very more competent and the fees were lower.Yet you spit in their faces and burn the Bible.
@100ProcentNasze So if someone does something nice for you, you can't criticize them or disagree with their opinion ever? You have to live in obligation to them for the rest of your life?
Also, in the same breath you say I have "donated to the catholic church" and that I have "taken advantage of them". I find it hilarious that you seem determined to find the negative spin to absolutely everything I've ever done just because I burned paper in my back yard. Being closed minded again, I see.
@BornWithoutReligion Clearly you're not one of those people that are able to find a middle ground in life. Your way or the highway, ehh? The Catholic church gave you a chance at a better education, while at the same time, you were already convinced of your superiority. Really, you could have just thanked it for it and, if you disagreed with its ideologies, just move along. No one said anything about you being in any obligation to it. But no, you chose to be an asshole about it.
I never said anything about you donating anything to the Catholic church.Read more carefully.Catholics gave money to the church and that money was used to hire better teachers then your average public high school, while at the same time make it more affordable to those that might need that help.
@BornWithoutReligion You come in with your nose high up,take a spot of someone that would at least be grateful for the opportunity and then have the balls to insult the same people that made certain things in your life possible. By calling a book that is extremely important to some a piece of paper and burning it, you are offending those people. If you were that great and enlightened person you pretend to be in your little videos, you would surly be aware of that. Except, you're so far from it.
@BornWithoutReligion And calling me closed minded in an attempt to divert attention from your blind hate is really not working. Contrary to you, when I don't like something or someone, I don't need to spit venom at them. If you would just try, you would see how amazing it is to invest that time and energy into things that actually better your life. Trust me, letting things go and concentrating on positive aspects of your life is very liberating.
@100ProcentNasze YOU TELL HER! YEA...BURNWITHOUTRELIGION IS A HYPOCRITE SHE SHE SAYS SHE GREW UP IN A NON GOD HOME...YET SHE WAS NEVER CATHOLIC...BUT WENT TO A CATHOLIC SCHOOL (I'M CATHOLIC BY THE WAY) GO AN EDUCATION FROM A CATHOLIC RUN/SPONSORED EDUCATION SYSTEM...TURN AROUND AND BURNED THE HOLY BIBLE AND SPIT IN ALL CHRISTIAN FACES! SHE HAS NEGATIVE POINTS ABOUT EVERYONE..BUT WON'T BURN A QURAN...OH NO! I THINK SHE SHE LOOKS LIKA PAKI/MUSLIM! Can't wait until she dies...she can't escape GOD
@Lemon020202 Wow, really went a bit far with this one. How can you call yourself a Christian and wish someone's demise with so much hate? I'm all for expressing one ideas and discussion but your little comment brings very little to that table.
@BornWithoutReligion the religous schools are always better in education because they follow values! something which you didn't grow up on! Your a disgrace! Burning a bible, going to a catholic school and your not catholic...stay in the public system then don't complain to us..you had to learn christianity in school you dumb fuck nut..you're in a catholic board...yet you never grew up in a catholic home. ummm! Its sad your parents did a dis service to you raising such a godless twit like u.
@Steelsixtysix It's not from the teachers, but from the atmosphere created by students. In my Catholic school the students were so sick of religion that they rarely talked about it when they didn't have to. In public school, the students felt they had to assert their Christianity at every opportunity and talk about it whenever they could. Maybe it's part of the rebellion thing (teachers say you can't so you want to) or a false sense of persecution, but whatever it is I found it unbearable.
@Steelsixtysix I attended a Catholic school because it was the best private school we could afford and the "secular" schools were anything but. In my experience, fundamentalist christians often take over public schools, making them unbearable to us atheists. I loved my catholic schools and wouldn't do anything differently. I was accepted more there as an atheist than I ever was in public school. I will be making a video about my experience coming out / being out in a catholic high school soon :)
@mauihoneyyy Seriously?? Woah! I would love to know what kind of discussion that caused. If it's too long to reply please PM me! (Also, many of my religion classes were excellent - this one not so much)
I see the term "Christian Lifestyle" as being in regard to how their scriptures are informing their actions currently. When you consider the variation in interpretation, combined with the variation in how it ends up actually informing their actions, you end up with many different "lifestyles". Seems pretty self serving of them not to call the class "Catholic Lifestyles". More games to help confirm to them that their interpretation is accurate I guess.
I don't remember the exact name of the religion class. But there was a question on a test that went something like this, with three fill-in-the-blanks, "Q: What is it that you need to receive the kingdom of God? A: ___ ___ & ___" my answers were wrong, but when I was given the correct answers, "faith, faith & faith" I was pissed. I almost had a fit. I was thinking "This is B.S., I'm done."
Why go to a Christian highschool? Public education doesn't allow religion, we are forced to read about the holocaust, and go on holocaust trips to the museum, it was really torture.
I went to a Catholic highschool in Belgium (very liberal). The least favourite part of my religious education were the semi-compulsory confessions. They'd start w/ the teacher writing "sin suggestions" on the blackboard and then we'd have to go to the "little chapel" and confess to a teacher-priest. The older we got, the fewer of us went into the confessional or people'd dare each other into going. The Catholics are way too good at educating people & thus driving them out of their own religion.
I went to a Catholic school too, but definitely not that liberal. That's a hilarious story.hahahaha I had nuns and I'd love to have seen the expression on their faces. Anyway, it's interesting that the Catholics were kinder than the public school people and I'm glad. We are supposed to represent Jesus. As a Christian I don't judge people. I rent a house to a lesbian couple and they were previously evicted because the former landlord didn't want to rent to gays.
A Christian lifestyle nowadays, seeing as we are living in "the last days" before Christ returns for those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their own personal Saviour , and His atonement for their sins by His death on the cross --- is not , in my opinion, the true definition of a Christian lifestyle. Anyone can call himself a Christian and anything goes. I like the term "believer". I believe because I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, and by His shed blood on the cross for my sins-
Very interesting story. I'm still amazed at people who claim to get their family values from the Bible and don't see it endorses practices like polygamy.
@JaguarEscarlata The Bible does not endorse polygamy. You are obviously talking about the Old Testament. That has passed away and been now we are to follow the teachings of Jesus who said that it is sinful to divorce, except for immorality.
@ACloserFriend Well, speaking of the teachings of Jesus: "For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." No form of true love can be conditional.
left to its own devices nature would not select homos for the simple fact that they can't breed so your kind would be wiped out. how does that make you feel?
@submission08 interestingly enough, nearly ever animal species on the planet has demonstrated homosexual behavior, so your conclusion is incorrect. Left to it's own devices, homosexuality works out just fine in nature, perhaps as a natural deterrent against overpopulation, perhaps as simply a neutral trait.
It is religion that attempts to wipe out what nature has made. Science is so much more interesting and complex when you actually study it, don't you think?
@BornWithoutReligion Religion wipes out nature, but not capitalism, globalization, and the poverty caused by it? It's amazing how humans can deny the real impact of problems simply because they benefit from the bad system or because they're obsessed with their own issues.
@submission08-- wow dude...you're out of your league here...do some research first. Didn't you know MALE sea-horses can mate with the same sex AND have babies?!....right, ofcourse you didn't....i bet you also didn't know that certain types of frogs do the same......-- hmmm...seems like your little belief...just crumbled down to dust...
Christian lifestyle...as I remember it, your class ended up getting it right. It's a bunch of hypocrisy and ignoring what makes sense in the real world around you and instead ignoring the truth in favor of putting on airs so that the neighbors thought you were as holy if not holier then they are!
This isn't just my observation now as a non-believer. I noticed the same thing when I was one of them INCLUDING in my own actions. I may do a video on that soon.
25 Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, WIFE and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
TRANSLATION:We must love Jesus so much that we will sacrifice our own lives to serve Him and Him alone!
Having been to Catholic school, I believe your story - entirely. It's a wonder that you were not kicked out, or else physically attacked - repeatedly - until your parents had to remove you before you were seriously injured.
That you are able to look back on it with such humor says a lot about your strength of character as a person. Amazing...really!
@AGNOSSI My catholic school experience was much different from others, it seems. My school taught evolution, safe sex and acceptance of diversity, including glbt people. I absolutely never felt persecuted or in danger while I was there, unlike my friends in public school, and I actually became much more popular and well liked once I came out as a lesbian. Maybe this was because I went to an inner city school? Anyway, I chose my high school, not my parents, and never second guessed that decision.
I am Pagan...so...live as thou will, but hurt no one: straight, gay, bi, trans, multiple partners...just love, respect and take care of those you are involved with-including (especially) the children from these unions (whether biological or adopted).
The story about the young lady accepting your proposal...and the teachers chagrin tickled me.
1) The Bible tells you what it entails, read Leviticus, Deuteronomy and Numbers, it's all there. Come on, parents, take your disobedient kids to the town gates and have them stoned to death, you know you want to, and don't wear mixed fibres or eat prawns. Every time you do that, God kills a kitten.
2) The ones that explained how God had baby Jesus - who was himself - nailed to a lump of wood to save us all from his own wrath.
What were you, a lesbian, even doing in a CATHOLIC school? If I were gay, the moment I came out as such, I'd insist on going to a public school, and if my parents tried to force me to keep going to Catholic school, I'd either run away and live on the streets, or I'd commit suicide. No one should live a lie, ever.
@DaleHusband ummm... I never lived a lie. I came out in my school (as I said) and had a perfectly fine time of it. In fact, with the number of born-again christians in public school I found catholic school to be MUCH more tolerant than most of my friend's public schools where they were bullied and attacked. I mean, in health class we even had to watch a video on why you should be nice and accepting of gay people and I took a girl to prom with the administration's permission, so there you go.
I've always been an atheist.however I have born again inlaws. It seems to me christian lifestyle is the same as an atheist lifestyle.Just we are more moral have more freedoms,we can marry who we want and we can sleep in on sunday.
Well, at least you could nail her while your shared hubby was out. But Xianity does a lot of screwy things. I mean, who can -not- eat bacon or crab? And hating your family? Why bother with a family at all, then? That's just silly...
I'm working my way through the Bible now. So far I can report that there's an awful lot about men in there taking loads of wives and the shagging their slaves and then their wives telling their husbands to shag their slaves etc.
Methinks Christians never read the Bible, cover to cover.
Did your parents force you to go there? That's awful... :/ hahaha you proposed to a girl? That's totally awesome! That's so dumb that she didn't want you to have one of the same sex. :( wtf going from homosexuality to polygamy? WOW. I am a Christian but a loving and accepting one...I don't thikn there is "one" right "Christian lifestyle". I listen to rock, go to shows, etc and still am Christian.
I was fortunate that I went to a public school. It was a time when the separation of church and state was very clear and no religion was to be taught in public schools.
A christian lifestyle, according to my previous denomination and how it's actually practiced here, would be exactly the same, minus having to pay church tax.
I vaguely recall going to Sunday school but I think I was kicked out for being disruptive and not listening to the people running it. (I would have been 4 or 5ish)
My school required prayer before school, assemblies and meal times and I didn't think much of the words I said and just repeated the bollocks so I could eat.
Later some children of Muslim parents joined and the school had to ask them to leave first, parading them in front of everybody else.
Growing up christian and a musician i made the best of it by playing guitar for Vespers on Friday nights when the sun went down, for, we didn't want it to think it was forgotten. Part of the lifestyle as well, was no TV, or certain foods til the sun "went down" again on Saturday. Saturday night was spent with wine and table games for the growed ups then eventually us kids too. Oddly a catholic bent for 7thdayAdventurers. E. B. White was a strong one. And we were expected to "turn" others too.
I just LOVED this anecdote. Sounds like you had some awesome classmates! So a Christian lifestyle devolved into Mormonism?
I went to a catholic school, but nowhere near as strict as yours. We only had one religion class each year and it was mostly about the world religions. Apart from one year, which was entirely devoted to christianity and entailed a lot of bible-lookup and rote learning. I am actually quite good at that, so I had top grades that year, but the course was awful.
The christian lifestyle is so dependant on the century and location. Pre-NT Israel: Polygamy and stoning of lawbreakers. A bit later converting my possible ancestors to christianity by the sword. A tad later whipping your black slaves to work harder in the fight for survival in America. Later on in europe hunting witches and keeping the woman under your fist in your house.
Today trying to ban sex-neutral marriage while ignoring the thousand changes already made to "mainstream" christianity.
My "World Religions" class was easily the most amusing and torturous class I've ever sat through. My professor claimed to have: Spoken with Satan himself and two angels, remembered a previous life, healed a blind woman through hypnosis, sent a Native American to the "Spirit World", and channeled an angel's voice into a crappy poem he had stitched into some cloth. There was much more, but I'm out of room.
I spent the entire semester choking back gales of laughter or biting my tongue with rage.
1) What do you think a "Christian lifestyle" entails? - Anything that suits any particular Christians goals at any given point in time. 2) The woman that gave me a lesson on God and Jessus in a vain attempt to get me to say the words "I believe in god" so that i could stay in the cubs. That's right..... 9 year old boy wanted to be in the cubs....
hmm, monogamy and no sex till marriage, giving money and participating in church.... presbyterians support babies, but don't force it, they support all people being successful in careers and well... there is a reason why they say "god calls presbyerians last". So I guess not much was expected in a "christian life style". Guess that was one perk.
The earliest Christian cult that we know about were the Carpocratians. They believed that you had to commit every sin before you met God. In order to get into the cult, you had to go through an initiation in a cave. You apparently had to bring your mother and sister along. When a dog kicked over a lamp, everybody had sex with everyone else in the cave.
This group was persecuted. Later Christians disavowed this group as heretics, but they possibly represent the original Christian lifestyle
My upbringing and church of christ background taught me that a "christian lifestyle" was free of extramarital sex, bad words, immodest clothing, movies containing bad words, and friends who use bad words or have sex. Basically there is an obsession with swearing and sex. Makes you wonder, right?
Holding a "Christian Lifestyle" would be a complete mindf*uck... You wouldn't know what to do, how to do it, and why to even do it (yes, not even just sex). The bible has so many contradictions on holding your lifestyle and how laws should be governed. You'd probably just lop your own head off from all of the insanity..
I did not go to a religious school, but I had a religious teacher for a World History class. Let's just say, I attribute most of my atheism to that class.
I do what I can to follow the Christian lifestyle, though I fail rather noticeably. Then again it doesn't bother me much since really Michigan is all consuming in its work. Though to point out what could possibly be my least favorite religious class will be hard because even in Catholic School I only took a sort of bible study class simply entitled "Religion" once every two weeks. [cont]
i went to a jesuit school for smart children. we didn't get to choose what classes to take, so we had religion class every year. we hated it profusely. the topic that i enjoyed talking was politics, because they were all for liberation theology. last two years we also had a philosophy class, and the teacher was openly atheist. i absolutely loved his rants on agnosticism. i guess that's why i have a hard time remembering the last two years of religion class
in my country (austria (=/=australia)) we have religous classes in all schools until you finish school. you will be teached (intoctrinated) in your specific religion. every officially recognized religion has the right for that (and to collect taxes from their members). its not as easy to become such a relgion though, its about having enough members. the teachers were very different. some had actuall tests other were more easy going. whatever, cant recall that too clearly anymore.
when you said it turned out to be "quite biblical in fact" i truly lol'd.
i know quite a few christians who also believe all religions were different paths to the same goal, like your teacher. its difficult to object to that level of tolerance, though of course he probably believes we heathens are damned.
@gothatfunk you know, I wouldn't actually be surprised if he were at least agnostic himself. I was openly atheist and was easily his favorite student in my year. Also, rumor had it that he only joined the church because his father gave him a choice: religious life or military life, and he was quite a pacifist.
I’m Christian, and to my church and me, a Christian lifestyle is one where you live to serve and love god. By that, in very modern terms I mean go to church, and treat everybody nicely, no matter what. Come to think of it, we don’t have to go to church if we don’t want to.
@NESsubscriber Going to church doesn't serve a god, it serves the religious leaders that indoctrinate people with their interpretations (political & social beliefs) and collect money that is never accounted for going to charities.
I understand that going to church doesn't mean we serve god, but to my religion it is gods home and thus we serve him in his home by following his rules and supporting him and his rules. Did you ever take a chance to ask were the money goes? If you did, you might find out that it is not useless, the money goes into taking care of God's home and helping the people who need it.
You don't get what I'm saying. I know that there are & must be churches & leaders that actually give (at least some of) the money to charity, but there are no regulations and checks & balances involved like there would with a secular charity organization- there is no accountability, you can't trust that all of the money is going to go to charity.
I do not deny that their have been religious leaders that have done wrong. If you plan on starting an argument, PLEASE take the time to get your information with a back bone.
@NESsubscriber There is a difference between what you believe you're doing and the reality of what you're really doing. There are thousands of different gods of hundreds of different religions of hundreds of different sects.- why believe that your church is the home and the rules you follow are of the correct god of the correct religion of the correct sect?
Pretty darn funny story. I'm guessing at a Catholic high school, a "Christian lifestyle" means one where you shut off your mind and do as the church tells you. Even if it's living in a threesome - as long, of course, as there is no contraception involved.
I had a feeling that the "christian lifestyles" would be exclusively heterosexual. Humorously enough, the "sanctity of marriage" is surprisingly pliable, just as long as it doesn't involve two people of the same gender becoming the other's loving, adoring, loyal abomination. ;)
I use to believe in jesus, but then I started reading the bible and I said this is BS! Becoming a eunuch in the name of a myth. Mathew 19:12 - Why would you do that to anyone else or to yourself for that matter. LMAO!!!! :-D
I'd say my least favorite religious class was a bible class I went through in middle school. The teacher was a real zealot. One day, one of my class mates asked very seriously, "Mrs. (teacher's name here), why does the Bible say we can't call each other fools even though Jesus himself does that several times?" And the teacher just glared at him and said, "How DARE you question the Lord your God!"
My least favorite was science class at my Lutheran school why you may ask well they taught there young earth anti evolution version of science which was absolutely torture for me being that I was a major skeptic and huge fan of evolutionary biology.
The Christian lifestyle is about looking down your nose at people who are different than you. Even other Christian denominations. Because only your group truly has it right. A Christian lifestyle is about abusing your children and indoctrinating them into your superstitions. It's about teaching intolerance. It's about making stupid choices and not learning to make the right choices because "any" bad choices made are forgiven by a magic sky wizard. It's about discounting science for magic Gods.
@Phobosuchus1 It was very cool. In fact, though taught by a Christian Brother it was surprisingly even-handed. His philosophy was that all religions were different paths to the same goal and we should look at the redeeming qualities of all religions to form morality. Enlightened for a man of the cloth, I have to say :)
Yep, sounds like polygamy to me. History shows us that christian lifestyle can = homophobia, misogyny, racism, slavery, ethnic cleansing, genocide, etc etc... What a detrimental thing to be teaching in our schools.

@blackbrothapride I've seen my Christian friends being challenged by atheists, being challenged by Muslims etc. plenty of times and they have always remained gracious. If someone loses their temper when being challenged it's a sign that they may not be as mature in their faith as they think they are.

Fuck religion and all its adherents.

Okay, thank you for answering my questions, I have a better idea of where you stand now religiously. Or non-religiously, I guess. I think that you're an amazing person from watching you're videos, and I do believe in God but I subscribed. @BornWithoutReligion, please reply.
I'm not trying to be ignorant at all, I just want to get inside you're mind.
I saw you're bible blasphemy day and freaked out, but I have questions to ask you.
1. I too was once atheist, in reality I was just angry at God for not answering my prayers... To you think that is the same with you?
2. Don't you like the idea of eternal joy better then just disappearing after death?
3. Isn't it easier just to have faith?
thomasbieber323 7 months ago
@thomasbieber323 Here are your answers:
3. In some ways, but that's just lazy.
BornWithoutReligion 7 months ago
@BornWithoutReligion
1. Good answer

Christian Lifestyle: Being stupid.
mslewp 1 year ago
Christian literally means "little Christ". I would think that logically you would define a "Christian" lifestyle as one that attempts to emulate Christ. However, Jesus said very little about marriage or other issues, mostly focusing on heaven, miracles, and love.
When asked "What are the two greatest commandments?" Jesus' supposed reply was "Love the Lord your God with soul mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself". THAT would be a Christian lifestyle, nothing more, nothing less.

@TheSimpleIdealist1 Many reasons that I may make a video on in the future, but here is the short version:
1) Catholic schools are the most affordable private schools,
2) both my parents, though non-religious now, were raised Catholic,

4) public school in the city was crap for education.

@BornWithoutReligion So when it's convenient and serves YOU, a religion is a good thing? Wow, such strong convictions!
100ProcentNasze 8 months ago
@100ProcentNasze When did I say religion was a good thing? (hint, the answer is "never") However, I am not the kind of person who has a litmus test for such things. Just because an institution has religious affiliations does not necessarily mean that the institution is inferior. My Catholic school education was much better than I received in public school, not the least of which because it was LESS religious than the public schools in the area. I'm sorry I'm not closed minded enough for you.
BornWithoutReligion 8 months ago
@BornWithoutReligion Right, I'm closed minded? It is YOU, in almost all your vids, that is bashing on something or someone! Please, a little look in the mirror before attacking someone.
Back to the point. Not liking religion that much, it was pretty easy for you to take advantage of the finer points of CATHOLIC-run and CATHOLIC-sponsored education. Thanks to donations of Catholics everywhere, your teachers very more competent and the fees were lower.Yet you spit in their faces and burn the Bible.
100ProcentNasze 8 months ago
@100ProcentNasze So if someone does something nice for you, you can't criticize them or disagree with their opinion ever? You have to live in obligation to them for the rest of your life?
Also, in the same breath you say I have "donated to the catholic church" and that I have "taken advantage of them". I find it hilarious that you seem determined to find the negative spin to absolutely everything I've ever done just because I burned paper in my back yard. Being closed minded again, I see.
BornWithoutReligion 8 months ago
@BornWithoutReligion Clearly you're not one of those people that are able to find a middle ground in life. Your way or the highway, ehh? The Catholic church gave you a chance at a better education, while at the same time, you were already convinced of your superiority. Really, you could have just thanked it for it and, if you disagreed with its ideologies, just move along. No one said anything about you being in any obligation to it. But no, you chose to be an asshole about it.
100ProcentNasze 8 months ago
I never said anything about you donating anything to the Catholic church.Read more carefully.Catholics gave money to the church and that money was used to hire better teachers then your average public high school, while at the same time make it more affordable to those that might need that help.
100ProcentNasze 8 months ago
@BornWithoutReligion You come in with your nose high up,take a spot of someone that would at least be grateful for the opportunity and then have the balls to insult the same people that made certain things in your life possible. By calling a book that is extremely important to some a piece of paper and burning it, you are offending those people. If you were that great and enlightened person you pretend to be in your little videos, you would surly be aware of that. Except, you're so far from it.
100ProcentNasze 8 months ago
@BornWithoutReligion And calling me closed minded in an attempt to divert attention from your blind hate is really not working. Contrary to you, when I don't like something or someone, I don't need to spit venom at them. If you would just try, you would see how amazing it is to invest that time and energy into things that actually better your life. Trust me, letting things go and concentrating on positive aspects of your life is very liberating.

Its sad your parents did a dis service to you raising such a godless twit like u.
Lemon020202 5 months ago
@Steelsixtysix It's not from the teachers, but from the atmosphere created by students. In my Catholic school the students were so sick of religion that they rarely talked about it when they didn't have to. In public school, the students felt they had to assert their Christianity at every opportunity and talk about it whenever they could. Maybe it's part of the rebellion thing (teachers say you can't so you want to) or a false sense of persecution, but whatever it is I found it unbearable.
BornWithoutReligion 1 year ago
@Steelsixtysix I attended a Catholic school because it was the best private school we could afford and the "secular" schools were anything but. In my experience, fundamentalist christians often take over public schools, making them unbearable to us atheists. I loved my catholic schools and wouldn't do anything differently. I was accepted more there as an atheist than I ever was in public school. I will be making a video about my experience coming out / being out in a catholic high school soon :)

Once, I even got to evangelize atheism in English. That was stressful but interesting.

The Catholics are way too good at educating people & thus driving them out of their own religion.
wimsweden 1 year ago

I believe because I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, and by His shed blood on the cross for my sins-

left to its own devices nature would not select homos for the simple fact that they can't breed so your kind would be wiped out. how does that make you feel?
submission08 1 year ago
@submission08 interestingly enough, nearly ever animal species on the planet has demonstrated homosexual behavior, so your conclusion is incorrect. Left to it's own devices, homosexuality works out just fine in nature, perhaps as a natural deterrent against overpopulation, perhaps as simply a neutral trait.
It is religion that attempts to wipe out what nature has made. Science is so much more interesting and complex when you actually study it, don't you think?
BornWithoutReligion 1 year ago 11
@BornWithoutReligion Religion wipes out nature, but not capitalism, globalization, and the poverty caused by it? It's amazing how humans can deny the real impact of problems simply because they benefit from the bad system or because they're obsessed with their own issues.

What is a "Christian lifestyle", I mean? really everybody goes to bed, wakes up, has breakfast...

I'm so glad that when I grew up I was raised in a very liberal protestant environment.
Religion was not forced upon me, but later I met some reborn Christians and realised how detrimental religion can be.

I play piano for an anglican chaplel - christian lifestyle is much the same as any other lifestyle, expet they beleive in Jesus.
Worst class - biblical history. It wasn't teaching any wrong history or bullshit like that, but it was boring.

hmm, monogamy and no sex till marriage, giving money and participating in church.... presbyterians support babies, but don't force it, they support all people being successful in careers and well... there is a reason why they say "god calls presbyerians last".

Welcome back!
My upbringing and church of christ background taught me that a "christian lifestyle" was free of extramarital sex, bad words, immodest clothing, movies containing bad words, and friends who use bad words or have sex. Basically there is an obsession with swearing and sex. Makes you wonder, right?
WineisyourFriend 1 year ago
WIN! Love it!

Though to point out what could possibly be my least favorite religious class will be hard because even in Catholic School I only took a sort of bible study class simply entitled "Religion" once every two weeks. i went to a jesuit school for smart children. we didn't get to choose what classes to take, so we had religion class every year. we hated it profusely. the topic that i enjoyed talking was politics, because they were all for liberation theology. last two years we also had a philosophy class, and the teacher was openly atheist. i absolutely loved his rants on agnosticism. i guess that's why i have a hard time remembering the last two years of religion class

in my country (austria (=/=australia)) we have religous classes in all schools until you finish school. you will be teached (intoctrinated) in your specific religion. every officially recognized religion has the right for that (and to collect taxes from their members). its not as easy to become such a relgion though, its about having enough members. the teachers were very different. some had actuall tests other were more easy going. whatever, cant recall that too clearly anymore.
theheinzification 1 year ago
when you said it turned out to be "quite biblical in fact" i truly lol'd.
i know quite a few christians who also believe all religions were different paths to the same goal, like your teacher. its difficult to object to that level of tolerance, though of course he probably believes we heathens are damned.
gothatfunk 1 year ago 3
@gothatfunk you know, I wouldn't actually be surprised if he were at least agnostic himself. I was openly atheist and was easily his favorite student in my year. Also, rumor had it that he only joined the church because his father gave him a choice: religious life or military life, and he was quite a pacifist.

I’m Christian, and to my church and me, a Christian lifestyle is one where you live to serve and love god. By that, in very modern terms I mean go to church, and treat everybody nicely, no matter what. Come to think of it, we don’t have to go to church if we don’t want to.
NESsubscriber 1 year ago
@NESsubscriber Going to church doesn't serve a god, it serves the religious leaders that indoctrinate people with their interpretations (political & social beliefs) and collect money that is never accounted for going to charities.
kiwisunshine5233 1 year ago
I understand that going to church doesn't mean we serve god, but to my religion it is gods home and thus we serve him in his home by following his rules and supporting him and his rules. Did you ever take a chance to ask were the money goes? If you did, you might find out that it is not useless, the money goes into taking care of God's home and helping the people who need it.
NESsubscriber 1 year ago
@NESsubscriber
You don't get what I'm saying. I know that there are & must be churches & leaders that actually give (at least some of) the money to charity, but there are no regulations and checks & balances involved like there would with a secular charity organization- there is no accountability, you can't trust that all of the money is going to go to charity.
kiwisunshine5233 1 year ago
I do not deny that their have been religious leaders that have done wrong. If you plan on starting an argument, PLEASE take the time to get your information with a back bone.
NESsubscriber 1 year ago
@NESsubscriber There is a difference between what you believe you're doing and the reality of what you're really doing. There are thousands of different gods of hundreds of different religions of hundreds of different sects.- why believe that your church is the home and the rules you follow are of the correct god of the correct religion of the correct sect?
kiwisunshine5233 1 year ago
Pretty darn funny story. I'm guessing at a Catholic high school, a "Christian lifestyle" means one where you shut off your mind and do as the church tells you. Even if it's living in a threesome - as long, of course, as there is no contraception involved.

I had a feeling that the "christian lifestyles" would be exclusively heterosexual. Humorously enough, the "sanctity of marriage" is surprisingly pliable, just as long as it doesn't involve two people of the same gender becoming the other's loving, adoring, loyal abomination. ;)

What is a "Christian lifestyle"?
One where Christ, or his self-appointed representatives, choose your lifestyle for you.
Personally, I passed on the option, in favor of the "do it yourself" method.

The "World Religions" class sure sounds cool.
Phobosuchus1 1 year ago
@Phobosuchus1 It was very cool. In fact, though taught by a Christian Brother it was surprisingly even-handed. His philosophy was that all religions were different paths to the same goal and we should look at the redeeming qualities of all religions to form morality. Enlightened for a man of the cloth, I have to say :)
BornWithoutReligion 1 year ago
Yep, sounds like polygamy to me. History shows us that christian lifestyle can = homophobia, misogyny, racism, slavery, ethnic cleansing, genocide, etc etc... What a detrimental thing to be teaching in our schools.
