That's barely even close. Halo was originally going to be a game for both PC and Mac. Bungie use to be a big Mac game developing company, and Steve Jobs was impressed with their work on Halo, and wanted to show it at MacWolrd '99. After they showed it, they got a call from Microsoft, who were also impressed with it. They asked for Bungie to make Halo for their dying XBox, which needed a flagship title at the time. Bungie accepted because they needed the funding.
