I like your drawings; you are off to a great start as a young artist. Aside from just continuing to practice, I have a suggestion that should give you immediate results. To get a more finished and 3-D look, use a 6B or 8B pencil to create a dark, soft shadow behind at least one side of the subject's head. It pops it out & even gives you a back-lit fringe or halo effect in the hair/fur. You can also scrape graphite powder with a blade and blend with a napkin. Workable fixative stops smudges.
