HK is much more comfortable to handle and i'd say more reliable and accurate. My G22 has nothing on my USP40. I still like the Glocks but prefer the HK overall performance.
own both brands. but the HK feels better in my hand, especially after prolonged range sessions. Plus, I shoot it a hell of a lot more accurately. I can't give an "apples to apples" comparison. Both are different sizes, calibers, etc. The Glock is a G32 (compact .357sig) and the HK, a USP Expert. 45. Almost at the complete opposites of the spectrum. I still love my Glock though! I think they make excellent carry weapons bc they have low profile and simple controls. I'd bet my life on both.
I have both a Glock 17 and USP .45 fullsize. Love both of em to death, but if I had to choose a weapon to take into a firefight, it would be the USP. As far as the weight issue goes, the Glock 17 Gen 4 has more recoil than the USP and thats because USP slide weighs ALOT. I know not apples to apples, but that increased weight is a bonus to some, especially since most adults shouldn't feel fatigue or slow down from toting an extra few ounces.
The Glock is from Austria. Keckler and Koch is from Germany. Both countries make very very nice weapons. Who cares? They both get the job done... But I prefer the glock.
More weight means less recoil, and also the H&K has a better gas recoil system also leading to less recoil. Glock is lighter but when shooting the H&K is smoother due to the gas recoil and weight. I prefer H&K. Watch this video from theARMORYchannel, HK USP 40. COMPACT
I have both these pistols. They are both outstanding. The USP Compact is easily my favorite, though. I am slightly more accurate with the HK, but it is definitely not for everyone, and in my experience, most folks find the glock to be easier to shoot, especially novices. These two guns have utterly different feels to them.
But the HK is a little more rugged and simply has better features.
I liked the way the HK looked and felt, but shooting both the Glock managed the .40 better. The snap was gone. Neither felt as good as firing a 1911, but none of them are bad guns. Pack what fits your needs the best and shoots best for you.
@ferdin12 Your an idiot because tracer rounds drop and slow significantly faster than normal rounds because of increased drag. Not to mention the fact they are both illegal, and relatively pointless if used in a rifle such as the nagant.
Looks like someone has been bitten by the Glock bug...its tried to bite me several times...but my HK frog always eats him up....this review is so one sided!
I own g23.26,22,36,......i own HK usp 40 compact,9mm compact,p30,p2000...no comparison HK wins
Funiest thing is the weight issue...unless you weigh 80lbs soaking wet i doubt u will ever feel the 5 ounce difference...not to mention with your firepower...one more rd weighs more!! ...also the HK has a pinky extendetion hence longer mag
USP all the way. Ill take a gun made by a gun company anyday over a gun designed by a company that makes curtain rods and entrenching tools. The usp destroys the ergonomicly retarded glock for 95% of people. Good ergos make for better shooting. That being said, the glock 19/23 grip is the best glock grip.
Did the Glock not pass the USSOCOM standard firing test? JW not arguing or trying to cause a fuss. Glock 17 is an amazing fire arm. Just letting others know about the CDNN option. Thanks for the video nutnfancy.
I bought a used USP I determined was made in 2004 has AE on it, stuck a 4.9 inch threaded barrel with the little O ring that goes on it towards the end of the barrel which is supposed to give them better accuracy took it to the range and put it on my gun rest shot consistent groups inside of an inch at eleven yards. It’s definitely my go to battle gun.
I would say the lighter it is the harder it is to use. The more weight the less muzzle jump for any given calibre and muzzle length. It hold on target better up to a point, obvs after a certain weight it is unusable. I would say the USP is the better weapon in terms of weight.
Cracks me up when people talk about how light the Glock is, then they are just as quick to advertise the 30-round mags that can be inserted which will increase the gun's overall weight TREMENDOUSLY! :)
I personally have a USP 9mm in my nightstand...yeah I know, it's not .45, but I got it damn cheap...plus with an 18 round magazine, I'm pretty sure it'll get the job done.
I own both a GLOCK 17 and a HK USP-C, and while I think we can all agree you get a better value with purchasing Glock (I mean $500 for the most reliable pistol on the market) I would say that is the only pitfall of the HK USP-C when it is compared to the Glock.
The trigger guard argument is silly considering my finger never gets near the curved edge, nor does anybody elses. THe only way that trigger guard would matter is if your pulling the trigger from the very bottom of the gun
Less weight is better? Personal preference. I personally fire a heavier weapon in .45 better than a lighter weapon. Also unless you are carrying over 50lbs with you and need to cut weight wherever you can, then that may make since. But if 5 oz affects you at all, you are probably not healthy enough to safely own and operate a firearm. I personally like the grip, safety, and fire of USP over the glock, but price and ease of breakdown I give to glock
@MrJo1340 Because they both shoot the same ammunition, the lighter gun will kick back more, the heavier the weight of the gun, the less recoil is felt by the shooter.
@MrJo1340 So would it be safe to say that the H &K would be more accurate as it's the heavier of the two? More recoil = less accuracy & in a life & death situation shot placement could save your life.
I have owned the glock 23 with night sights and a ported barrel for 12 yrs. This gun has been carried with me at work for them all and it has NEVER failed me with a jam. It has been a great firearm for the entire time. As we say at work IN GLOCK WE TRUST.
Hey Nutnfancy, this may sound strange, weird, or "gun nuttish" but hey, some people love the sounds of a custom V8. So back to my strangeness: I kind of like the sound of you messing around with those beautiful pistols. The way the polymer sounds, the metal when cocking the pistol, the sound of you handling of them. It IS quite a sexy sound if you ask me. No, I'm not crazy, just crazy about the sport! I don't even carry much but I love the range! God bless America & our beloved Constitution.
I love my glock 23c I've had one month. I've shot about a thousand rounds through it so far. Not one jam. Flawless. On the other hand. I shot my friends H & K usp and loved it too. I loved the trigger. I want one. The issue lies with spending almost $900 dollars on a H & K when i spent under $600 on my 23c with night sights and 3 mags. To each his own.
Nutnfancy, what's up Papi?! My new all day channel!! Question: I have NOT heard any relevant news from the Glock company concerning the many Gen 4 issues. I owned a 1st, 2nd gen Glocks, loved them. I'm back on the market for a polymer frame, main EDC compact pistol AND I RESPECT, ACKNOWLEDGE, & ADMIRE, YOUR GUN EXPERTISE!! I capitalized for the "haters." Ha ha! Anyways, did Glock address the issues? Or should I go with my 2nd choice, Ruger SR9c? Heeelp! Thank you, Sir. I'm down w/theTNP project!
I like nutnfancy's reviews. He just calls it like he sees it. I've got a Glock and 2 USPs. Both Glocks and USPs are great guns. Yes the HKs are more money, especially when you start buying mags. I don't know if I would so far as calling them "overpriced." There seems to be a "quality feel" advantage to the USPs. I like them both. I just shoot the USPs better. And...Yes, I do carry a USP daily and have supreme confidence in the pistol to do its part. My part on the other hand...:)
"Glock 23 is actually much more compact than the USP Compact..."
According to respective manufacturers web sites: USP40C is slightly shorter than the G23, height is 5.0" for both, and in width, the USP40C is slightly narrower in overall width than the G23. USPC is about two ounces heavier. If anything, the USPC is more compact than the G23. The G23 is in no way "much more compact" than the USPC.
HK wins on all points. Weight is better, less recoil quicker follow up. HK mag can be released without two hands or shifting hand grip. Slide release is easier. Trigger is MUCH better. HK is WAY more accurate. HK has a better trigger feel. HK has a fully supported chamber. HK has better mag chute. HK has better ergo. HK has better sights. HK NEVER jams. HK buttons are much easier to manipulate. I own both guns by the way. HK all the way.
I hate when people say, if you can't take the extra weight, your a wussy! Worrying about weight is for wimps! I mean, it's not because we don't like it being heavy, its because it makes you a less effective shooter when you can't run as fast and you're packing more unneccesary weight, and you can't bring it up to shoot as fast, and so many other reasons. We like light guns because they are effective! Not because we can't take the weight! I ALWAYS aggree with Nutnfancy's gun philosophy :D

HK usp compact then SIg Sauer P239 then Beretta 8000 mini... then G23. Polymer frames feel to much of a toy, real men with real grips go against Glocks. :)
Hey nutn i got a quick question if you get time to answer it i bought a glock 17 and it is almost impossible to hit any thing with it what should i do PS> its has trijicon night sights thanks.
i actually like the slide release that comes factory on all my glocks. i really like that dehorned look and feel when you carry it. lol for a compact bobbed hammer ccw weapon the huge slide release and the goofy mag release on the hk are not my favorite. also on the bottom of the trigger guard where the hk mag release is the glock has that very purposeful undercut almost a choil of sorts that feels perfect in my hand.
Glock = the pistol of masses, is cheap and good like AK 47 , HK USP = a pistol of elite. HK usp can be customize from factory with different trigger pull and SA, DA,DAO,DA/SA .....more accurate than glock from polygonal barrel ,recoil buffer ,( if you are a bad shooter you will not see the difference). The HK usp pass the USSOCOM test, what can you ask for more.
@Kahur2007 What??? HK USP more accurate than the Glock? I personally never noticed that. I find them both to be accurate. And no, I don't consider myself a bad shooter.
@QualityKills98 You are welcome to prove to yourself which handgun you would prefer makes no difference to me and i do not base my opinion on which i prefer from this video only from the many rounds i have sent down range shooting both of these guns. the Glock 23 is an excellent handgun i have had lots of fun shooting mine but hands down i prefer to use my HK USP compact 40 over it. i am not talking about airsoft guns here but actual time at the range using both.
@gunnerrun13 i love glock firearms and own 4 of them but when it comes down to it i prefer my Sig,HK,XD even before i would choose either of my glocks. since i recently have picked up a S&W M&P my Glocks might be further down my list after i spend a little more time with the M&P.The Glock is an accurate reliable well built handgun but ergonomically speaking not my favorite pistol to shoot to which i base this on my experience not watching videos
nutnfancy you opinions always favor a glock, its rediculous, you are comparing a striker fired pistol compared to a hammer fired pistol, the usp has so many variants, you can have a usp var 1, you can carry it with one in the chamber decocked, also you can carry it like a 1911 with one in the chamber on safety single action, i like how you never even mentioned that.
@ELMAJIKO420 hell yea man i think glocks are the best. im not really a gun expert but its jus that the glock is the type of gun that suits everybody. i have a G19 and i love it. did a few mods on it(didnt really need to)and it shoots perfect.
im gunna have to pick the Hecklor & Koch Usp Compact .45
It is a great gun and its proven itself to be used by the US Navy Seals. The Glock is a Great gun too. The glock is used by military and law enforcement purposes and it is a really accurate gun especially the Glock 19 9mm = a full size glock that shoots 9mm bullets really accurate. at leasts thats what i think the glock 19 9mm is.
but there really good weapons but i pick the hkusp
i'm sorry but when glock pretty much wins or its a tie in every catagory and you can buy two glocks for the price of two HKs (way over priced). its a plain and simple choice. one critism of this video, use a gen 3 with accesorie rail on the glock nutn.
Hey Nutnfancy let start by saying that your videos are some of the best on youtube. I personally appreciate the effort you put in to your videos. Anyway I am new to glocks and have a question. I'm considering a glock 23 for a new carry gun and was wondering will a .357 sig cartridge feed reliably in the 23 with a .357 sig barrel installed, and also what is your opinion on the lone wolf 9mm conversion barrel. Thanks for your time dude
I own USP's, P2000, and P7 and none of them have ever had any issues with tons of rounds through them. I actually sold my soul and went and bought a glock 20 10mm last DEC. It won't cycle rounds properly, and the extractor is all jacked up. I guess you get what you pay for.
THe HK is bigger due to the fact that HK design the gun around the caliber, Glock just beat S&W to the shelfs and pushed a 40 cal in a 9mm platform. I own both guns and like them just the same, but in the 40.......HK hands down cause it was built around the caliber....not the highest bidder.
Those are both great guns. I prefer the H&K because of the safety features--visible hammer, decocker and safety vs. Glock's...nothing. Glock's safety: You have to pull the trigger to pull the trigger. That's a safety? I prefer the grip angle on the H&K too. Oh, and it's better looking. But like I said, both great guns.
The "one round argument may save your life" thing doesn't hold much water outside war zones. And you failed to mention the weight of that extra round you're carrying.
@leawood i do prefer hk, but glocks are very safe, they are hda only, so even if the striker is released, the striker will have only been half cocked and wont detonate the primer. also the firing pin is blocked from the primer unless you depress the trigger.
@HGClark Right, "unless you depress the trigger". A Glock is safe from accidental discharge via dropping but not accidental discharge via stupid person (or child) pulling the trigger of a loaded gun. That's what I meant by safety features because it would be what I'd worry about most.
this was a very great review and i must say i am a personal fan of both guns and particularly in the .40 caliber. however one think you way want to note is that the usp is smaller than the glock so when comparing the magazines you have to consider that, in terms of fire power they are about equal and i say that becuase the usp, having the shorter barrel, makes it more deadly at close range due to the bullet traveling ass over end after several feet, however this ultimatly makes it less accurate.
Good grief, find the weapon you feel comfortable with and can hit with consistently in all situations. One you find it, never change. Caliber doesn't matter, its all about bullet placement.
IMO weights not much of an issue but maybe because I'm bigger then your average bear. I carried a full size m249 with 2000 rounds while deployed in Iraq. And wouldnt of wanted anything else, maybe the oldschool M60 but that's another story.
I own 3 Glocks, 2 HK USPs, 2 Sigs, 1 Walther ppk, 1 Walther p99 and the very expensive 1911 Ed Brown Kobra Carry. Purchased all of these fine firearms NIB in less than a year. out of all these pistols, the Glock is my favorite concealed carry.
Sigs are for "pussies" who are biased and dont know jack shit about Glocks. :)
you really dont care for h&ks.i love them.i like glocks as well.its all about personallity, both are fine weapons, dont know why h&ks cost more though....
Glocks are good. Anybody who doesn't think so either hasn't owned one for years compared to other handguns or isn't a shooter.
But nobody said they were pretty. They are really ugly. In fact thats how you can tell a glock from any other pistol. That being said I've seen people go head to head against built 1911's at the range and beat them with a Glock 21.
Although I wish Nutn would review more handguns in .45ACP. I understand wholeheartedly the ammunition is expensive and he doesn't reload
Im not bashing your glock buy I think you should make a trip to the tin star shooting range in OK. There works a SFO that saw hk vs glock for 3 long tours. He may have some interesting points that maybe you have overlooked this time.
@SlowHandMcQeeg That you had not heard not mean that was not happened and for your information i know a lot of things about Glock so why don't you make some research first about those water pistols???
And with the weight thing, lets say you get jumped by like 20 guys. (or zombies or whatever you want) You shoot half of em down then they surround you and your only option left is pistol wiping these suckers. Because of the 4 ounce difference your now dead cause you had a glock. :(
I was at the range with my Glock 23 and Glock 30 not a single jam. A guy and his wife just bought 2 HKs and both were having major problems. I'll stick with my Glocks!!!
HK is hands down a better gun. Some people do find the glock has a better grip. The HK is a little rough on the hands, but very accurate. I have shot thousands of rounds through USP's full size and compact in 9mm, .40 & .45, Glocks 17,18,19,20,21,22,23, Sigs P220,P226,P228 & SigPro. Of all of these the only one I wouldn't recommend is the SigPro.
I ran 5,000 rounds through the Sig P220 never cleaned didn't jam a single time.
HK and Sig are not even in the same class as a Glock. That isn't to say that Glocks are not good. They are excellent firearms and in my opinion the best bang for the buck in terms of price to quality ratio. But HK are in fact the top of the line with Sig almost on par. I love the Sig but their all metal frames make them too heavy and I am not a fan of aluminum over polymer.
HK is much more comfortable to handle and i'd say more reliable and accurate. My G22 has nothing on my USP40. I still like the Glocks but prefer the HK overall performance.

I'm down w/theTNP project!
pitolove71 8 months ago
I like nutnfancy's reviews. He just calls it like he sees it. I've got a Glock and 2 USPs. Both Glocks and USPs are great guns. Yes the HKs are more money, especially when you start buying mags. I don't know if I would so far as calling them "overpriced." There seems to be a "quality feel" advantage to the USPs. I like them both. I just shoot the USPs better. And...Yes, I do carry a USP daily and have supreme confidence in the pistol to do its part. My part on the other hand...:)
fishysmellin 8 months ago
I own both. HK is far and away a better fit and finish. Plus that Glock trigger is not the best. Some like Lexus and some like BMW.

Jimbo1920 8 months ago
Im sorry (not really) ,Hk is just a far better weapon. Thats just the way it is. Pure quality.
AryanLCK 8 months ago

@187Kdogg no, Glock recoil dampening polymer makes the gun more flexible, reducing recoil, making the gun more flexible.

HK usp compact then SIg Sauer P239 then Beretta 8000 mini... then G23. Polymer frames feel to much of a toy, real men with real grips go against Glocks. :)

i actually like the slide release that comes factory on all my glocks. i really like that dehorned look and feel when you carry it. lol for a compact bobbed hammer ccw weapon the huge slide release and the goofy mag release on the hk are not my favorite. also on the bottom of the trigger guard where the hk mag release is the glock has that very purposeful undercut almost a choil of sorts that feels perfect in my hand.
ladyfeind 10 months ago
Glock = the pistol of masses, is cheap and good like AK 47 , HK USP = a pistol of elite. HK usp can be customize from factory with different trigger pull and SA, DA,DAO,DA/SA .....more accurate than glock from polygonal barrel ,recoil buffer ,( if you are a bad shooter you will not see the difference). The HK usp pass the USSOCOM test, what can you ask for more.
Kahur2007 10 months ago 14

@Kahur2007 Glocks have polygonal barrels too. But regardless, that has nothing to do with accuracy.

@Kahur2007 What??? HK USP more accurate than the Glock? I personally never noticed that. I find them both to be accurate. And no, I don't consider myself a bad shooter.

@QualityKills98 You are welcome to prove to yourself which handgun you would prefer makes no difference to me and i do not base my opinion on which i prefer from this video only from the many rounds i have sent down range shooting both of these guns. the Glock 23 is an excellent handgun i have had lots of fun shooting mine but hands down i prefer to use my HK USP compact 40 over it. i am not talking about airsoft guns here but actual time at the range using both.
gunnerrun13 4 months ago
@gunnerrun13 i love glock firearms and own 4 of them but when it comes down to it i prefer my Sig,HK,XD even before i would choose either of my glocks. since i recently have picked up a S&W M&P my Glocks might be further down my list after i spend a little more time with the M&P.The Glock is an accurate reliable well built handgun but ergonomically speaking not my favorite pistol to shoot to which i base this on my experience not watching videos

santiagomel00 10 months ago
nutnfancy you opinions always favor a glock, its rediculous, you are comparing a striker fired pistol compared to a hammer fired pistol, the usp has so many variants, you can have a usp var 1, you can carry it with one in the chamber decocked, also you can carry it like a 1911 with one in the chamber on safety single action, i like how you never even mentioned that.

im gunna have to pick the Hecklor & Koch Usp Compact .45
It is a great gun and its proven itself to be used by the US Navy Seals. The Glock is a Great gun too. The glock is used by military and law enforcement purposes and it is a really accurate gun especially the Glock 19 9mm = a full size glock that shoots 9mm bullets really accurate. at leasts thats what i think the glock 19 9mm is.
but there really good weapons but i pick the hkusp
but the glock is way!!!! cheaper!

i'm sorry but when glock pretty much wins or its a tie in every catagory and you can buy two glocks for the price of two HKs (way over priced). its a plain and simple choice. one critism of this video, use a gen 3 with accesorie rail on the glock nutn.
1hogfan83 11 months ago
Hey Nutnfancy let start by saying that your videos are some of the best on youtube. I personally appreciate the effort you put in to your videos. Anyway I am new to glocks and have a question. I'm considering a glock 23 for a new carry gun and was wondering will a .357 sig cartridge feed reliably in the 23 with a .357 sig barrel installed, and also what is your opinion on the lone wolf 9mm conversion barrel. Thanks for your time dude
SVDDragunov83 11 months ago
Is HK the same thing a Heckler and Koch?
TheLuque1994 11 months ago
@TheLuque1994 yeah its just HK is a shorter way to say "Hecklor & Koch".
anthonyrothwell 11 months ago
I own USP's, P2000, and P7 and none of them have ever had any issues with tons of rounds through them. I actually sold my soul and went and bought a glock 20 10mm last DEC. It won't cycle rounds properly, and the extractor is all jacked up. I guess you get what you pay for.
HKmanlp1 11 months ago
THe HK is bigger due to the fact that HK design the gun around the caliber, Glock just beat S&W to the shelfs and pushed a 40 cal in a 9mm platform. I own both guns and like them just the same, but in the 40.......HK hands down cause it was built around the caliber....not the highest bidder.

H&K Kicks ASS
royayala09 11 months ago
Those are both great guns. I prefer the H&K because of the safety features--visible hammer, decocker and safety vs. Glock's...nothing. Glock's safety: You have to pull the trigger to pull the trigger. That's a safety? I prefer the grip angle on the H&K too. Oh, and it's better looking. But like I said, both great guns.
The "one round argument may save your life" thing doesn't hold much water outside war zones. And you failed to mention the weight of that extra round you're carrying.
leawood 11 months ago
@leawood i do prefer hk, but glocks are very safe, they are hda only, so even if the striker is released, the striker will have only been half cocked and wont detonate the primer. also the firing pin is blocked from the primer unless you depress the trigger.
HGClark 11 months ago
@HGClark Right, "unless you depress the trigger". A Glock is safe from accidental discharge via dropping but not accidental discharge via stupid person (or child) pulling the trigger of a loaded gun. That's what I meant by safety features because it would be what I'd worry about most.
leawood 11 months ago
@leawood Well, keep your gun away from stupid people and children.
HGClark 11 months ago
this was a very great review and i must say i am a personal fan of both guns and particularly in the .40 caliber. however one think you way want to note is that the usp is smaller than the glock so when comparing the magazines you have to consider that, in terms of fire power they are about equal and i say that becuase the usp, having the shorter barrel, makes it more deadly at close range due to the bullet traveling ass over end after several feet, however this ultimatly makes it less accurate.

I ran 5,000 rounds through the Sig P220 never cleaned didn't jam a single time.
hkrick78 1 year ago
HK and Sig are not even in the same class as a Glock. That isn't to say that Glocks are not good. They are excellent firearms and in my opinion the best bang for the buck in terms of price to quality ratio. But HK are in fact the top of the line with Sig almost on par. I love the Sig but their all metal frames make them too heavy and I am not a fan of aluminum over polymer.
