  • Put off making New Year's/New Semester's resolutions until next year *winkwink*

  • clean up my apartment a little better

Get better grades and hand in the assignments....actually care about what you are studying

Become more socially active too and not spend as much time on the internet...lol

  • Hey could you do a video on healthy eating while having the stress of college work? How do you cope without eating chocolate in between revising ? I can't stay healthy when i'm so busy with school :( Wish i had such a nice figure like you :) x

  • "That’s absolutely true, about the eight glasses a day. There’s no reason whatsoever to drink eight glasses of water a day unless you, for whatever reason, particularly like the taste of water. Most experts agree that unless there’s something horribly wrong with you, you should just drink water whenever you’re—get this—thirsty." - An Abundance of Katherines ;)

  • yeah....... yeah!!!! lol

  • Please o not aim to drink eight glasses of water a day, because you get most of the water you need from food (that is, if you eat properly) and as you probably know, too much water is bad for you.

  • Topic Suggestion: Writing a personal statement.

  • Topic suggestion: Best ways to impress the ladies.

  • go to class

  • try to do all the coursework, respond to questions in class, and try to speak the assigned language in my classes (my goals are a bit different seeing as i'm an exchange student this year and last semester all my classes were in a foreign language; they will be in said language this semester too)

  • keep up with the reading, and also study for tests outside of the 24-hour-till-I'm-fucked timeslot. (and the water as well)

  • my new years resolution is to stop eating tic tac's like they are candy.

  • @eaglebreath5 ...I thought tic tac's WERE candy. Now I'm screwed haha.

  • 1) Getting all good grades (Closely followed by) 2)Balancing school, extras, me time and exercise. The thing is I hate not spending an hour with me a day and that's not really always practical, but then again I need a bath and tea just not during finals week.

  • Your body is the only one you've got!

  • Actually finish A book for once instead of starting a new one when im 3/4 of the way done.....so far word count 50,586, have touched it since NaNoWriMo..Fail

  • 1. no procrastination with homework.

    2. one episode of supernatural a day :P

  • hey, what kind of diet do you have (if you have one),Just i wanted to know how to eat healthier, do you have any tips ? x

  • what study tools do you think work the best? and what have u found doesnt work

  • i just tweeted u a picture of me drinking water from a champagne flute <3

  • Nonononono!! This thing about eight glasses of water a day is total BS. The only way to tell that you need more fluids is if you're thirsty. We get a good amount of water in our food, too, and drinking more water has not been shown to improve health.

Gaaah sorry, I just really dislike myths like this being propagated.

Good luck with your resolutions, Hayley!! :D

  • Actually, you really shouldn't drink eight glasses of water a day... It can run down your kidneys.

I would just stick to when you're thirsty.

  • @silageman wtf?

  • EAT ALL THE VEGETABLES!!!!

... and stop talking in memes.

  • @sequenceofletters thank you. This should be my resolution as well! STEAL ALL THE RESOLUTIONS! ...and, fail.

  • Yeah sorry I just killed all grammar

  • What to do when class is boring: as in "I already know this, but everyone else is stupid"?

  • What the fuck are you talking about, Just vomiton my cock

  • Mine are:

    1) to go to the gym twice a week, even if its dark and raining!

    2) Not leave project write up to the last minute- so actually do work when I return from labs at 6pm

    3) Save some money- spend less frivolously

    4) Be more committed to job searching and figuring out what I want to do

    5) Enjoy my last semester at university! *even if the stress may kill me.

  • I'm so stealing your keeping up with the reading.

I only made 1 before this, and it is to do 10 push ups at the minimum a day. I feel things like work out more and stuff never happen. An attainable and measurable goal is easiest to convince yourself to do.

  • Some of us still have a long summer break before school comes back :p (please try not to completely forget the southern hemisphere).

  • Breakfast is a tricky one, it can happen at anytime when the desire strikes

  • I'm planning on doing my readings on time or even early. I'm going to try your no internet after 12 rule but I don't think I'll be too successful. Also to limit myself to eating fast food and/or pizza to once or twice a month. That'll be the hardest one I think. xD

  • Some of your new semester resolutions are the same as mine

    1) Actually do the reading and in general procrastinate less (including things like responding to emails and getting forms filled out, etc.)

    2) Eat Healthier (less sugar and junk food, more veggies, fruits, and whole grains)

    3) Become acquainted with the gym on my campus, and use it at least 3 times a week.

  • 1) Work out more

    2) Make my lunch instead of just bringing PB crackers and starving all day lol

    3) Be productive on the weekends

  • 1) Work out every day. 2) Finish my college work a little at a time, instead of pulling 72 cram sessions.

  • I would like a video called 'So you failed at life' or, alternatively 'How to deal when you've failed a class'.

My resolution is to not fail a class this year.

  • 1) Be more patient with people.

    2) Be less selfish.

    3) Jog for at least 30 minutes, at least 4 times a week.

    4) Eat less dairy.

  • I'm going to make all A's and B's (because if I don't, my parents will stop paying for my school...eek) and in May I'm running a 5K, and in the process of training I'm going to be healthier, which means better eating, sleeping, and exercising habits.

  • Topic suggestion: How to pick courses

  • Spring Semester 2012 goals:

*Get my paperwork in ASAP (for graduation, grad school, and GA positions)

*Only say yes to extra curricular activities I can do and want to do

*stop spending so much on eating out

    * get a 4.0 this semester to end my undergraduate career right!

  • ...Actually do some revision for my January exams, eat less chocolate (difficult as i got looads for Christmas), do exercise of some description and don't stay up till 2am every night....

  • my goal is just to stay on top of things in every aspect: homework, studying, friends, youtube stuff, just, everything. especially reading in classes!

  • 1) make more time for friends

    2) take people up on offers to go out place/ stop being alone all the time!!

    3) do work before the last minute...

^^ those are my resolutions for the new semester.. life in general is just to go to the gym more, eat less junk and look after my body in general :)

  • 1.) Be less socially awkward

    2.) Do homework.

  • My only resolution is to do art stuff more often.

  • omg you're like my role-model. HAHAH, yes, i was enthusiastic and i stayed up till 6.30am! close enough? :p getting off the internet before midnight and being less judgmental/gossiping less are two of my new year's resolutions, too! :3

  • Here goes:

Body: Only drink Fanta/Pepsi at the weekends.

Mind: Complete one Sudoku puzzle a day. I have a whole book of these, I just hope there are 363 puzzles in there. I doubt that a lot.

Soul: I'm going to spend less time playing video games and watching the telly and do something more constructive, like drawing, or reading, or writing.

BONUS RESOLUTION: I'm going to start vlogging. Properly.;)

  • 1. I'm going to lose at least ten pounds by the end of the semester.

    2. I'm going to save my money and quit spending it on stupid things.

    3. I am going to find out exactly what I need to do in order to work in Walt Disney World.

  • 1.) Actually complete my homework, without putting it off til the last second

2.) Actually study for tests, without putting it off til the last second

3.) Stop putting everything off til the last second

  • @Monobueno18 so stop procrastinating ?

  • im gonna learn the months of the year ... yup

  • you set yourself some tough goals. I think for me it has to be to compliment at least five people I encounter during the day, every day. I realised I hardly do this, it makes me so happy to get a compliment even if I know it isn't 100% true it still cheers me up that someone cares enough to say it to me. As far as the body goes I need to take some vitamin supplements as I clearly don't get enough and right now am suffering for this. For university I need to work less and have more fun.

  • Body: Eat less chocolate and exercise. It's ridiciulous how much chocolate I need, trust me. I'm doing well on the exercise-part already (I cycle and walk A LOT) but I wish to add something for once a week. Maybe a long walk alone every week = good for the soul as well. Soul: When I feel notsome, don't dramatize/cry for hours when it's actually no big deal.

  • Drinking 8 glasses of water a day to be healthy is a myth, though. You should drink water when you're /thirsty/. Not set a limit.

  • mind- I'm going to start reading more and actually gain something from literature and all it's greatness. body - Exercising more and drinking water too. (I put lemon in it so it tastes better :P) soul - I'm getting back into yoga and meditation, it brings so much inner peace to me (hopefully it will improve my grades)

  • I wanna try attend more of my classes this semester.... But I somehow doubt that is gonna happen -_-

  • mind body and soul huh? lets try it. for mind i will try to finish the book series-es that i have started and have planned on starting. body should be easy since i am in the fitness center and yoga "classes" this semester. and for soul i am already working on starting a new healthy relationship with an awesome nerdfighter girl :)

  • Oh my gosh, the reading thing. Yes.

The one I can think of right now is to stop shopping at CVS and actually buy real food at a grocery store, even though I have to take the T to do it.

Good luck with yours, Hayley. :)

  • Theoretically, I'm going to be doing something both beneficial and new everyday. I'm trying to prepare by making a list... but I'm stuck at 152 things; however, I remain optimistic!

  • not be an art fuckup

  • and now at 2 in the morning... i want water...

  • As for my mind and body, I am adopting your resolutions. As for my soul, well... I have this habit of panicking when I'm in a bad situation that I got myself into, and I end up blaming someone else for it. My resolution is to work on that. Also, I need to resolve to wake up in time for my 9:30 classes. ...And my 1:00 ones as well. Shut up, don't judgmental-badger-face me!

  • The reason I wasn't home lots of nights by 12 on a school night in college because I was still at the college studying.

  • I am so incredibly glad you didn't include a silly glass sound at 0:53

  • Resolutions:

    Be more selective with dating.

Get into Phi Alpha, and honor society that requires a 3.85 GPA.

  • I don't make resolutions, because I feel A- It's cliche and B- MOST people simply use resolutions because they're too lazy to, like, DO SOMETHING during the rest of the year (At least that's the case with a lot of people I know in person) AND C- Most of them get broken before the first month of the new year is over. If I'm going to disappoint myself, I'll do it when I want to, not when it's popular to do lol. That said, if you make em' and stick to em', more power to you, amigo/amiga

  • Since college started I've noticed soda everywhere which super-activates my acne, so I'm banning that from my diet.

Also I'm going to do my reading assignments the same day they're assigned.

I still need something you haven't said... how about practicing with more of a goal in mind rather than forcing myself to play for hours.

  • Mind: Read more! "Inheritance" and "Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim" are first on the list.

Body: Work out -Running and basic abs workouts- (drinking water was mine last year haha)

Soul: Fill out "ALL THE SCHOLARSHIP APPS!" This doesn't really fit here does it?

  • Question for next week: Making new/more friends in college (Perhaps due to a new years resolution) ?

We all have friends, but sometimes we feel like branching out, joining a new club, and being introduced to fresh ideas and faces. Tips for starting and then balancing with your previous friends?

  • Actualy, my goal was the water thing. LOTS more water and FAR LESS tings like soda and hot pockets.

Also Juice. I should drink more juice.

And better myself as an artist.

  • @TactownGirl Juice has lots of sugar and unless it's mixed with water and only up to 2 glasses a day it's not healthy.

  • trying to eat more fruits during break instead of sprinting to mcdonalds or the nearest donut shop.

  • My new semester goal: handle pressure better! Grades are not the most important aspect of education!

    Mind: read more graphic novels

Body: get back to a regular work out schedule

    Soul: keep making goals

  • I want to stop procrastinating. As in, homework before internet, plan out projects, and DON'T cram the night before for every single test. (I actually did this for every test last semester. But I still got all As!)

  • My goal for this semester is to be healthy and to understand that healthy is not the same thing as skinny.

  • @eleanorrigby7390 That's a great goal :)

  • MIND: read and write more. BODY: eat more plants SPIRIT: BE HONEST

  • I want a 4.0. Soooooooo everything that goes along with working towards a 4.0 would be my new semester resolutions.

  • I would love to see a video with advice for how to get to know professors better. I'm a junior right now, and at a point where I'm realizing I really need professors for references, connections, advice even... While my professors don't dislike me and I do well, I never know quite how to make the switch from a student/teacher relationship to more of a mentor/mentee one.

  • Can you talk about the best ways to quickly outline some reading? What I mean to say is, how best to find what's important, in an informational text (not, like, literature, or something).

    >.< This was a terribly worded suggestion. Wow.

  • Hm... I guess my new semester's resolutions will be to not procrastinate away my papers until the night before and to *finally* ask someone out.

  • A+ semester resolutions!

  • if you could do a video about how much clothing you should bring to university, that would be awesome. :) thanks.

  • I couldn't stop laughing when I saw my comment at the end.

  • How to get through difficult homework

  • You don't really have to drink eight glasses of water a day. You can get most of your water just through your foods. Like, still drink water instead of sugary drinks- but eight whole glasses are unnecessary.

  • My resolution? No homework on Sunday nights!!

  • mine is to stop caring what people think of me and to take every opportunity i can

  • You've got some great goals, I think I'll have to use some for myself - especially the one about actually keeping up with reading for classes...we'll see how long that lasts.

It's been a tradition that a friend of mine suggests my New Years Resolution, because hers have always challenged me more than I would on my own. Past ones have been learn three things about yourself, ask out a girl, and try three new things. This year though she wasn't with me on New Years, so I am still resolution-less.

  • Topic Suggestion: How to stay motivated throughout a semester/4 year degree and finish assignments.

  • Topic Idea: How do you motivate yourself to actually *keep* your resolutions? Or any goals for that matter?

  • try to keep a fruit bowl of apples and oranges. An apple and a mocha make a great breakfast. Then its also there for those times when your searching the cupboards for just whatever.

  • And my new years thingy is to be less cynical

  • One of my resolutions is to be a better friend, or at least communicate with my friends better. I prefer talking in person, so I usually don't text my friends over weekends and breaks but I love them so I'm gonna try to fix that.

Also, to actually do the reading in my AP Lit class (yes, I'm still in high school! College next year though) because I don't think I've actually finished any of the things we're supposed to have read yet....Hooray for senioritis! >.<

  • The 8 cups of water has not got any proof. The best thing to do with water is drink enough so you don't feel thirsty

  • Not to be lazy - my only "resolution". I'm on a second book (Will Grayson, Will Grayson) and my third non-English movie. Got to keep the bordom and procrastination away.

My not-so resolution, resolutions: Save money. This goes for many things, but mainly the part of being in debt like 3,000$ and I don't have a job, I'm going to Coachella by myself, then I want to go to Vancouver and Seattle in May. Yeah, I have money handling problems. Never had them, then I got two credit cards. Terrible idea.

  • Not to fall asleep in spanish, latin, history, or english.

    To actually study for math.

Um....to pay attention in the rest of my life.

    yeah. Great resolutions, huh?

  • my new yrs resolution is to stop watching every charlieissocoollike video ever :( sorry charlie

  • @quackquackquack49 Haha... Well you can only watch as many videos as he has uploaded :) But yes, cutting out unhealthy obsessions is a good one :)

  • Complain less and smile more! Among others. :)

  • As a college alum I feel like I need to say something... those goals will last about a week at most. On the bright side, I still graduated (top of my class no less) and procrastinated the whole way there.

  • This reminds me of Ned's Declassified's new grade resolutions.

  • i want to know what to expect on you first day/week of college i know this is irrelivent to amercans at the moment cause you are all halfway through a school year but im in australia and i start soon and im scared.

  • One of my resolutions is to get a bike and start biking everywhere. But I'm going to have to look for one on craigslist, 'cause college girls be mad ka-broke.

  • I'm going to read 50 books this year.

  • I'm realllllllly screwed when school starts tomorrow! Two days ago I stayed in my bed for 4hrs (til 5:30am-ish) just trying to go sleep. Today I slept from 6am to 3pm-ish. Major. Headdesk. I also realllllly need to be on the computerat least 25% less, which, sadly, means giving up subscriptions! :(

  • I've tried the 8 glasses of water a day, and while drinking it all isn't the actual problem the annoying part is I HAD TO GO TO THE BATHROOM EVERY 10 MINUTES. I couldn't even sit through a class period.

  • my resolution was to stop watching youtube videos all the time....failing miserably so far :(

  • Yea my main goal is to read the chapters for my classes BEFORE the lecture as they normally tell you you should do...we will see how this goes..

  • I'm not in college... still watching this

  • To stay organized. I'm ridiculously unorganized and when it gets past a certain point, it starts affecting my school work. It's gotten past that point.

  • I want to read for fun more often. =]

  • I want to have more fun. I've been so stressed about school and my personal life, I think it'd be good for me to let loose once in a while. Also spend less time on the internet.

  • I want to become a vegetarian for at least two months and try harder at school.

  • i'm going to try to eat more often, because i find that my 1.5 meal a day schedule just results in me inhaling everything in my fridge, which for obvious reasons, isn't good for me.

also, i'm going to try to save a dollar a day...then spend it on clothes.

  • Mine is actulally a resolution Kristina did while the 5AG channel was still used ;). She decided to read 50 (preferably new) books in a year. I'm doing 30 for a good start, which is still a lot (2,5 book a month) concidering school and the fact that even Kristina didn't manage reading the 50 books .So yeah :). I'll do my best!

  • Get more involved at my school so I become known as more than the creepy quiet one in the corner who's good at maths.

  • I'm subscribed to this channel and I'm not even in college.

  • I need to properly allocate time for school work each evening so I can stay on top. I'm taking an extra class to everyone else in my year group and I feel like I'm not doing as much as I could.

I'm also planning to spend more time training on my racing bike.

  • As a senior at Ohio State, one of the biggest colleges in the US, I feel like I have not taken advantage of all the clubs and activities available to me. I know I would have liked some advice as a freshman on how to best utilize my school's resources and activities.

  • At my school, homework is graded on completion not how many questions you get correctly so I have this bad habit of watching youtube while I do homework so my semester resolution is to stop doing that.

  • My resolution is to not die

...but my school resolution is to not not do my homework and get better grades! ;)

  • Mine are to learn guitar, banjo and xlyphone, I will learn more instruments :)

  • I said that I would try to stop procrastinating, but so far, it's not working very well. I'm watching this video when I should be writing an essay for English...

  • Less internet... right after I finish watching this video.

  • I know that all dietary guidelines everywhere push 8 glasses of water like the book of mormon, but remember that it's based on the average American male - you probably need less than eight glasses to be healthy. Also, too much water can deplete your salt reserves. Just some things to keep in mind!

  • I also want to eat healthier... And to stick to my exercise routines. :)

  • here is a topic suggestion: perhaps you could show us all some of the ways you study (or not study when you are supposed to be) in a funny way :)

  • Mine are to revise more, do more exercise/ eat healthier and I'm going try and be more organised in terms of doing hw the night its set and not forgetting things all the time.

  • My main one was to read 50 books this year :) also, to write and draw more! (I am determined to complete my resolutions this year - I have a chart and everything!)

  • You should just adopt me... I am trying to decide which college to go to. Here is how it is playing out. I lived in Portland, Oregon for a year when I was in 9th Grade a few years back. I spent a lot of time in Seatle. I love both of those places, and would going to college some where close to most likely Portland, if not Seatle. Here its the thing. I live in Utah. My dad really does not want me to go out of state for College. What are my options?

  • Well, my resolution last year was to never again make a New Years' Resolution...... So..... Yeah.

  • These are great Hayley! :D

  • i want to actually do my math homework...'cause i have not been doing...that, yup

  • Since I walk the mile to work several times a week, I'm pretty good on the excercise thing, but I'd love to eat better. I shouldn't put off my outlines until the day they're due. I also want to read books I haven't read twice already and get the freshmen in my book club more involved since a lot of us are graduating this year.

  • I'm moving to Sweden for a semester and my resolution is to step as far outside my comfort zone and commit to the experience as much as possible. And to learn as many snippets of new languages as possible!

  • My resolutions are to: Eat Healthier, read more, and work harder in school.

  • Tips on how to stop procrastinating? I know everyone is saying this haha. But it wasn't in your list of resolutions so I'm assuming you're not a terrible procrastinator?

  • My New Year's resolution is always to be happy. I feel like it's a goal that's both attainable and sometimes difficult to stick to, serves a purpose for every area of my life, and is something I'd appreciate at the end of the year. I'm not suggesting being happy 24/7 or never being upset, because that's just not going to happen, but striving to find the bright side to things, or just to remember the great things in my life that make me happy is my ultimate goal.

  • I love yours!

  • Resolution~ To not procrastinate! And yet, here I am, watching this video.

  • Resolutions! Do the 100-book-challenge, spend less money (way less money), exercise 3-4 times a week without fail, and branch out of my (social) comfort zone.

  • my new semester resolution is to write notes for bio on a weekly basis...and not write out an entire semester worth of notes in the last 2 weeks... :)

  • I want to read a book for my own enjoyment at least once a month. At least. Hopefully every two weeks, but we'll see what happens.

  • I want to get better at replying to emails. My MO is pretty much either within seconds or months late. So.

  • you have 2/4 of my new years resolution. I have the drink 8 glasses of water thing (because in health class water is portrayed as this miracle liquid). I want to make the best of my last year in high school and get comfortable with uncomfortable social situations. I want to get really involved in my college next school year. I want to be asleep by midnight every school night because I have no excuse to be up late this year. (except for finals week.)

  • @ZePopTart One half (1/2) perhaps?

  • @GillianisAslan well yes that's the simplified version of the fraction but I have four resolutions, not two.

  • I want to eat healthier and take a 45 minute walk everyday. I also want to try harder in school and be less judgmental.

  • I want to be more organized because I find that when I'm more organized, everything else is better too. For example, if I'm not searching all over for what I need, I'm not late, and if I'm not late, I have more time to do things and I feel better. It's all just a big chain reaction :)

  • a video about english college/sixth form a level education? :) <3

great vid as per usual: D

  • my new semester's resolution is to study for an exam sooner than the night before. I always leave all the studying for the last 12 hours, don't get any sleep that night and usually don't even manage to go through all the stuff. : /

another one could be to actually start looking for a part time job related to what I study but I'm not going to do that so nah..

  • New years resolutions include: read more, keep up with lectures in class and generally become less lazy and selfdestructive

  • Talk about: trying to eat healthier in college.

  • Okay, my new years resolutions are pretty similar: Eat healthier, exercise more and spend less time on the internet.

  • Definitely stealing the stay off the internet after 12 rule.

I'm going to spend more time studying and also try and meet new people.

I need to exercise more so I'm also hiring a friend to be my personal trainer so i have someone to hold me to it.

I'm just going to try to enjoy things more and do things that I'd never usually do.

  • Goto the Gym three times a week to get fit and to prepare for sports day

  • Hayley, you do realise that drinking that much water to keep you healthy is actually a myth, right? All you are accomplishing is increasing the amount of times you'll need to urinate each day. Not good.

  • My main resolutions are to shake off the nerves and social awkwardness that seem to be taking over my life, and to lose weight.

  • I stayed up till 8 am. So we're pretty much the same person

  • how many bodies do you have?

  • For my body resolutions, I'm going to drink more water and work out 2x a week. School-wise, I'm going to keep up with readings, figure out a new and more effective way of taking notes, and am going to try and get a 4.0.

  • In my one class, I have a quiz every week. They aren't worth much, but last semester I never tried, and didn't do very well. My goal in this semester is to not fail any of said quizzes.

  • my resolution is to be more focused on studying and try really hard not to procrastinate as much. also to reorganize my book collection/

  • Mine is to try things. I've been doing essentially the same things for a couple years. I need to get out of my comfort zone.

  • I became a vegetarian.

  • New semester resolution: Grin and bear it and READ that Shakespeare!

  • As always, I'm going to try (and fail) to be more organized.
