I would hardly call the Material Girl video a display of her sense of humor. That was her simply having some fun with an iconic video, nothing more, nothing less. The BMW commercial, fair enough, I'll give you that one.

@cristianishere honey, even ciccone youth/sonic youth said that the material girl video and like a virgin were obvious forms of irony, and thats why they loved her. they "get" her. I don't see why people think she's being serious, she's obviously not.

@louloutre However, better examples of her having a sense of humor is the self-depreciating skit she did for the "Swept Away" extra's where she's a "serious actress" (now THAT was funny), this Material Girl/Lola skit (very funny) and the recent skit of Madonna "apologizing" for the hydrangeas comment. But for the most part, Madonna is far too serious for her own good. Glad to see her lightening up more nowadays though. It's good to be able to laugh at yourself.
