Showaddywaddy were - and still are - wonderful, catchy tunes, great harmonies, excellent entertainers. Shame Dave Bartram has had to step down as lead singer but he's still managing the group, so I'm sure they'll keep going strong. We're looking forward to having them back at Strathpeffer Pavilion on 26 May 2012
I play in a band doing this stuff, i'd defy anyone who said it's crap. try playing it like it is, you'd certainly gain a respect for them ! Fantastic tune !
have to say, i went to see the Wads last night and they were bloody brilliant, so for anyone out there thats worried about Daves voice not being what it was, i can tell you there is absolutely NO problem, he was fantastic, AND a few teds were there up and dancing. Met him afterwards and he was charming (and gorgeous).

Back in the 70`s we copped crap over this group,but we distanced ourselfs from them,there are a lot of kids who listen to the old stuff,and they love it,they didn`t listen to this pop group to do so,they may cover origionals but its not rock`n`roll,they are a pop group,its what is known among the rockin scene as bubble gum pop.

When i first started out back in the 70`s it was the Teddyboy lifestyle for me,as a mature Ted today i have always stayed faithful to Rock`n`Roll,Rockabilly and Doo-Wop,but i still get wround up over this and another groups that dress up as Teds,we wear our Drapes with pride as we did when we first become Teds,today its a way of life for us,our music and us being Teddyboys and TeddyGirls,there are lots of us still out there,and not only in England, Peace.....

There are a lot of people who are still into the true Rockin scene,the earliest picture i have of me as a Ted was in 76,i was 16 at the time,but i was a Ted at school,and was threatened with the cane more than once going to school with a big quiff,punk i still dont like,we had many battles with them back in the 70`s,i was seeing most of the 70`s groups,ie Cavan,Flying saucers,Riot Rockers,Freddy Fingers Lee,and many more,the gigs were great fun back then,its Rock`n`Roll.....

I would normally be really irritated by a band like Showaddywaddy but have been playing there Greatest hits album on loop in the car for weeks. They were so bloody good.
I used to go to school with Rod Deas, the one in the pink suit! It was in Malta, he had a group then, three of them. Him and his mate used to get us into trouble in class, as they weren't interested in working!! also my husband was born in Leicester and lived there until he was 22!
Time for a claim to fame. I grew up with most of these guys. They were great as kids and brilliant as performers. The best thing was, they never forgot their council estate roots. Tuneful, colourful, and happy. Not much of that today. AND WHAT ABOUT TISWAS????

Watching them now they appear like a comedy group, almost like a parody singing weak as water versions of classic rock and roll songs.
I am not on hear slagging them off, some of there songs were pretty good covers but most were very weak.

Back in the 70`s we copped crap over this group,but we distanced ourselfs from them,there are a lot of kids who listen to the old stuff,and they love it,they didn`t listen to this pop group to do so,they may cover origionals but its not rock`n`roll,they are a pop group,its what is known among the rockin scene as bubble gum pop.

When i first started out back in the 70`s it was the Teddyboy lifestyle for me,as a mature Ted today i have always stayed faithful to Rock`n`Roll,Rockabilly and Doo-Wop,but i still get wround up over this and another groups that dress up as Teds,we wear our Drapes with pride as we did when we first become Teds,today its a way of life for us,our music and us being Teddyboys and TeddyGirls,there are lots of us still out there,and not only in England, Peace.....

There are a lot of people who are still into the true Rockin scene,the earliest picture i have of me as a Ted was in 76,i was 16 at the time,but i was a Ted at school,and was threatened with the cane more than once going to school with a big quiff,punk i still dont like,we had many battles with them back in the 70`s,i was seeing most of the 70`s groups,ie Cavan,Flying saucers,Riot Rockers,Freddy Fingers Lee,and many more,the gigs were great fun back then,its Rock`n`Roll.....

Mind you they'll be telling us Elvis,Buddy & Eddie wrote all thier own stuff and never covered a song next.. The sleeve of the Trocadero album tells it's own story about a group of young lads watching rock n roll acts then growing up to do it themselves. Rock on Wads!

I used to go to school with Rod Deas, the one in the pink suit! It was in Malta, he had a group then, three of them. Him and his mate used to get us into trouble in class, as they weren't interested in working!! also my husband was born in Leicester and lived there until he was 22!

Time for a claim to fame. I grew up with most of these guys. They were great as kids and brilliant as performers. The best thing was, they never forgot their council estate roots. Tuneful, colourful, and happy. Not much of that today. AND WHAT ABOUT TISWAS????
