I had a Viper 835 for several years, it was a dependable & pretty fast sled. Going wide open across Lake Winnipesaukee, wearing 192 studs ), the digital speedometer would read around 143-147 MPH on hard-pack. Bender Racing said they were running the same speeds & better with a gear swap. Even a stock sled with a jetting & clutching tuneup will go 115-118 MPH. Maybe your sled was suffering from track spin & the speedo was displaying 133 MPH. check your limiter strap, springs, track & track studs
@bender4242 Yeah the speedo read 147mph! Ran a Bender Racing 835 trail engine (180+ HP @ 8,600 rpm). Also billet head with higher compression, bored 33-mm carbs, Benders Heel clicker clutch calibration.Whal Bros titanium jack-shaft & drive-shaft. Extended tunnel coolers, over-sized wheel kit, Bender adj traction rods.Through track window drivers, Camoplast MachZ track with 192 hornets. Bender Racing had told the shop foreman they were gearing up the lower gear, getting the same speeds & maybe I
@70scarrestoguy was losing 5mph to track spin.A couple years later I put an extended tunnel on it, a rolled Mt. chaincase, drivers & a 2" or 2-1/4", Camoplast staggered paddle track on it.I had to move the extended tunnel coolers. The sled was great on open water & when NH banned snowmobiles from summertime use on Winnipesaukee we went to Moosehead Lake in Maine.Crossed Moosehead Lake, almost 10 miles.Bender had to revise their jetting specs because a bunch of 835s burned down, luckily I ran a
@70scarrestoguy Blend of pump gas & VP 100 race fuel. The shop mechanic who installed & tuned the 835 engine kit & other parts confirmed that the speedo was going up to 143-147mph. I don't know if you failed to read the Bender 835cc 180+ horse power engine or if you missed that a stock Viper with jetting & clutching will go 115-118mph. Doesn't matter because I've the memories of sad ZRT 800, MachZ riders & a T-cat rider that blew it's track while trying to catch me before crashing into the woods
i got clocked blasting my puss faster than that
