I'm noticing alot of the gas car guys are ragging on the upcoming of diesels lately. Fact is they are just scared of the new generation of the smoking beasts. Trucks launch harder, louder and faster. Plus after 100 runs the diesel won't even miss a beat and the gasser needs rings or a valve job. People either move over or get pushed out of the way.
i like the 24 vaulves but the 12 vaulves id take over any diesel out there just because of the fuel milege. we get 23 with are and its in a 01 ford f250
only 2 things wronf with this truck.... one... its a dodge (would be better to take a cummins and drop it is a 02 f250 or f350) and 2 it has a stupid stackin it!
@redgifford1717 You know why it has a stack? If you didn't know, stacks are the quickest way to get rid of the exhaust, so it makes sense when it's on a 10 second Cummins. Some people use it for performance, some people like it for looks, either way it's helping somebody somewhere in both ways.
@7707Allen yes i do know what they are used for and yes i know that stacks are quick at takinf the exhaust out, but a tip thats just as big and just as loud put out the side in front of the back tires let out just as much as a stack. so i stick with what i say... stacks look stupid unless they are on an 18 wheeler....
@redgifford1717 But you're not understanding what I'm saying, a stack is used to get rid of the exhaust a lot quicker than out the back. That stack is nothing compared to what a lot of people have on their trucks. Bottom line is, what you're saying is strictly opinion while mine is fact. In this case, you're opinion really doesn't matter when it comes to performance. That's like saying a big shopping cart wing looks cool on a civic, so let's put it on.
@7707Allen actually the stack exhaust system was invented by cattle farmers who wanted to stop the exhaust from their trucks from going through their trailers and making their cattle sick. Thus the original name "bullhaulers".

Sweet truck. It amazes me how a bunch of dipchits can muddy up a great run with comments like "gas milage" on a diesel truck run.....or "propane".... or "15-20 seconds it takes that truck". The farthest thing from a normal person's mind when building a truck like this is not milage, propane would be the worst thing you could put on this truck and I'm pretty certain that truck ain't doin' 15-20 seconds since a stock truck with $500 worth of mods can run a 16-17.
I hear your dad already healed up so he can take my place even though youre the bottom bitch. Maybe you'll last longer than the 15-20 seconds it would take that truck to run a HALF MILE. dumbass... go somewhere else noob.
@medog2020 yeah it's a little irritated. cunts like you get me a little riled up. Sorry. All you gotta do is just spit on it and it'll be straight. You must've given me herpes. Wash your shit fag. Go somewhere else and be a bottom bitch, bottom bitch.
Engine types are as different as women types, so you cant get mad or talk shit about somebody's engine. Too each his own. I drove my girlfriends V6 Accord to pick up my car and was BLOWN away by the damn thing. I have a V8 and would never thought something marketed towards "less than manly people" would be so damn fast, Too each his own!!
good looking truck! Runs like a beast! But its to bad you cant make a full-size truck handle like a car in a "real" race with turns and I dont mean "NAS-CRAP. Awesome truck though! really! If I went to buy a truck it would have to be a 3/4 ton mega-cab.
This truck is running a CP3 pump but almost 1000% sure he has a dual fueler kit meaning it has two CP3 pumps feeding the rail so there no rail pressure drops.
@trweaver88 03+ dodges all use a COMMON RAIL to feed all of the injectors. It is just the style of injection system. The older cummins used a vp44 or p-pump.
@trweaver88 Common rails have one fuel rail that feeds all the injectors, instead of individual lines going to each injector like older diesels. Common rail systems work just like a gas engine's fuel system, just much higher pressure. There's more to it than that, but that's the gist of it.
what the hell u talking about, disel trucks can come in with 300 - 400 hp STOCK!!! thats alot unless u update the turbo and add more HP but its the engine like cummins and that but they come with tons of HP!
Horsepower is messured by time and distance. The reason gasoline engines have a higher hp rating that diesel engines, is because gas engines can run at a higher rpm rate that diesel. Which caculates to a higher hp average. However as you said, diesels produce a ton of torque. Today all that is changing and diesels are easily being modified to run over 1000hp because they don't slow down under load, they keep the rpm up and show no mercy to whatever the load is, therefor a higher hp average.
@cmnspwr Not even close. Octane is a fuel's resistance to igniting due to heat of pressure, where cetane is a measure of a diesel's willingness to burn. The higher octane gas is harder to ignite, where a higher cetane number diesel is easier to ignite. It has nothing to do with compression.
Diesel is the shit dude. you can gain better MPG when modding a Diesel! but with Gas you lose MPG most if not all the freackn time you install a high performance part!
I seen an F250 upgraded with a $750 BullyDog system and it does MAGIC!!!
Yes this is true be be careful too. Your MPG still goes down with any engine when you demand power. When engines increase gas mileage and power at the same time, it means that they're just getting balanced out. Hit that gas petal hard on the floor though, and goodbye gas mileage with ANY type of engine fuel.
I understand that, I am just making a statement, that diesel has more benefits. you can also run biodiesel but if you get a bad batch it could clog your full lines, filters etc. - trying to say it has cons aswell...
@undeadkillers There's an even better example. There's a Ram1500 reg cab short box that was converted over to a diesel, 700HP on demand and got about 20MPG. At the lowest boost settings (where he was still putting 350HP+ to the ground), the owner could achieve 55MPG on the highway, 30 city. Yes, a Ram weighing 5500lbs, 55MPG as in five five, as in fifty five, as in 20 + 25 = 55MPG. I wish I could find the article now...
@Reaper87xx Yes this is true. But diesel engines are still more fuel efficient per unit power demanded as compared to petrol engines. And sorry for commenting on an 11 months old comment. =P
@TechnologyR0xx0rz Well yes of course haha. I don't see ANY reason why some cars are still gas based. Like family sedans. There is no reason why a family sedan needs 275HP like they are getting from some of these 3.4 - 3.9L V6 gas engines. They need torque like any other "hauler" (family hauler, cargo hauler, still a hauler). An I4 turbocharged diesel with 180 - 200HP with 320lb tf torque, 35MPG city, I rest my case. :-)
@Reaper87xx Yeah I agree. In fact there should be supercars with diesel engines. wacky idea and won't be very well-received, due to people's perception of diesel engines. But 12 miles to the gallon at 200 mph sounds attractive doesn't it.
and another thing the guys who put this truck together are pros. i doubt that they would put a truck together and not have the best tires on them. maybe it didnt hook cuz it has two bottles of nitrious in the bed
okay so if powerstroke is so bad ass how come they sell a kit to put a cummins in a ford and if u have ever read a diesel mag the trucks that are puttin out that real high horsepower numbers are 12 valve cummins
NO YOUR WRONG!!! powerstoke is badass ....IF YOU SPEND A SHIT LOAD OF MONEY...in the long run..ya cummins will probably make more power.. but powerstroke can be up there if ur willing to pay an ass load of money cummins is waaaayy cheaper to do so and there are a ton more power adders for cummins
whats the fastest powerstroke in the 1/4, cause i never heard of one under 12 myself, while the cummins are low 10s at least last time i looked into it
visit our channel to see the worlds fastest diesel drag racing truck.. built in Malta.. weighs 3840kg .... clocking 10.11 in 1/4 mile... at a speed of 136.40 m/h.. during a drag racing event in malta.
visit our channel to see our videos.. comment and subscribe for more updates and videos... next month there will be the next drag racing event in halfar, malta.... so new videos will be up soon.
@lawnmowerman86 those arent even good names, a dodge guy cant even make up proper insults, how about powerjoke or duracrap? or u could just call the duramax shit.
wow.. that is all a street legal cummins can do... ugh... I know of two street legal dmax's in the 9's. Buck spruil spraying the HEll out of N2O and Ken and Rob coddens in maxed out racing run a 9.89 #2 only NO drugs.... but i still want a 12v to sup up.
Ok, I admit I don't know my shit. I have owned 5 Ford Powerstroke / Navistar 6.9, 7.3. and currently 6.4L diesel engines. My engines have all been stock, in various wheelbases, F350 or F250 4wd. Most were automatics. I have never seen a stock Dodge Cummins that I could not blow away, right away. What am I missing here? Why is 6 cyl. better than 8? Please 'splain.
V8's can't be perfectly harmonically balanced, the only v engine that can be is the v16. This means the v8 doesn't last as long as say an inline 6, which can be perfectly balanced. Inline engines make more power per cylinder because of this as well. The only disadvantage of an inline is length. Looks like you've bought on to "the power of the v8" like every other jackass has in america. Just because you own a vehicle doesn't mean you don't bring it to a shop every time it has an issue.
I find that difficult to believe because despite my preference in diesel engines, I have driven two 7.3's. A 250 and a 350 and they were absolute dogs. Good running trucks but slow as shit. And the cummins makes way more power than the powerstroke.
According to manufacturers specs, for example, a 1995 ford 7.3L powerstroke specs 210 hp @ 3000 rpm w/ 425 ft lbs torque @ 2000 rpm, and a dodge 5.9 liter automatic specs 160 hp @ 2500 and 400 ft lbs torque @ 1500 rpm. As far as the cummins making way more power, well, I'm not seeing it on paper and I am not seeing it on the road.
People either move over or get pushed out of the way.

does it actually make a difference performance wise??
and yeah i duno what it is but one single stack looks kinda goofy. just my opinion
its967kevin11 2 years ago
no not a whole lot of difference, it all depends on how you have it mounted up

i bet those tranny's fail quite often.
techking231 2 years ago
@techking231 Stock they fail all the time, but If you get a good built up tranny, they can put up with a lot of shit and abuse.
dsniper22 2 years ago
Some built trannys can handle 800+hp for quite a while.
Krollup77 1 year ago
this might sound stupid but whts the it mean when someone says common rail cummins?
trweaver88 2 years ago
@trweaver88 03+ dodges all use a COMMON RAIL to feed all of the injectors. It is just the style of injection system. The older cummins used a vp44 or p-pump.
dsniper22 2 years ago
@dsniper22 and dont forget the first gen VE pump
azteamr0per 2 years ago
@trweaver88 Common rails have one fuel rail that feeds all the injectors, instead of individual lines going to each injector like older diesels. Common rail systems work just like a gas engine's fuel system, just much higher pressure. There's more to it than that, but that's the gist of it.
caniwitech 2 years ago
94-98 model years had p-pumps (very durable and can handle over 1200hp)
98.5-02 model years had vp44 pumps (less durable, but had the ability to tune them on the go with programmers and could handle a max of about 650hp)
03 and up model years had common rail pumps, but I do not have much knowledge in this field

Nice Truck. Dodge Cummin Turbo Diesels are the sht!
smdaghost 2 years ago 24
NICE! Dodge commin trucks, are the sht!!!! my pops got one.
smdaghost 2 years ago 2
Most diesels don't have that much hp but they have incredible amounts of torque.
paintballdemon56 2 years ago
what the hell u talking about, disel trucks can come in with 300 - 400 hp STOCK!!! thats alot unless u update the turbo and add more HP but its the engine like cummins and that but they come with tons of HP!
iSTARKiNG 2 years ago
look at a gasoline powered engine of comparable size and you will see what i am saying.
paintballdemon56 2 years ago
Horsepower is messured by time and distance. The reason gasoline engines have a higher hp rating that diesel engines, is because gas engines can run at a higher rpm rate that diesel. Which caculates to a higher hp average. However as you said, diesels produce a ton of torque. Today all that is changing and diesels are easily being modified to run over 1000hp because they don't slow down under load, they keep the rpm up and show no mercy to whatever the load is, therefor a higher hp average.
smallengine13 2 years ago
makes sense... thanks!
paintballdemon56 2 years ago
@smallengine13 There's a lot more to it that rpm, or rotary's would be king.
caniwitech 2 years ago
diesel have tons of hp as is so yeah you can chip one up and fly
dodegeatsford 2 years ago
I know absolutely nothing about trucks, but I assume you can screw a bunch of horsepower into them just like any car.
But this is from a DIESEL?!??
How is that even possible?!?
This is engineering WITCHCRAFT.

very simple high octane fuel and lots of CFM
challenger909 2 years ago
The compression rates of diesel fuel is measured in Cetane, not Octane.
cmnspwr 2 years ago
@cmnspwr Not even close. Octane is a fuel's resistance to igniting due to heat of pressure, where cetane is a measure of a diesel's willingness to burn. The higher octane gas is harder to ignite, where a higher cetane number diesel is easier to ignite. It has nothing to do with compression.
caniwitech 2 years ago
Diesel is the shit dude. you can gain better MPG when modding a Diesel! but with Gas you lose MPG most if not all the freackn time you install a high performance part!
I seen an F250 upgraded with a $750 BullyDog system and it does MAGIC!!!
long story short Diesel + BullyDog = PORN
enginecontrol32 2 years ago
Yes this is true be be careful too. Your MPG still goes down with any engine when you demand power. When engines increase gas mileage and power at the same time, it means that they're just getting balanced out. Hit that gas petal hard on the floor though, and goodbye gas mileage with ANY type of engine fuel.
Reaper87xx 2 years ago 11
I understand that, I am just making a statement, that diesel has more benefits. you can also run biodiesel but if you get a bad batch it could clog your full lines, filters etc. - trying to say it has cons aswell...
enginecontrol32 2 years ago
@Reaper87xx
The Hummer is a good exmaple of that lol.
Keep the same pace and you can get around 13-20 or so MPG. Step on it you will do low single digit numbers.
undeadkillers 1 year ago
@undeadkillers There's an even better example. There's a Ram1500 reg cab short box that was converted over to a diesel, 700HP on demand and got about 20MPG. At the lowest boost settings (where he was still putting 350HP+ to the ground), the owner could achieve 55MPG on the highway, 30 city. Yes, a Ram weighing 5500lbs, 55MPG as in five five, as in fifty five, as in 20 + 25 = 55MPG. I wish I could find the article now...

@Reaper87xx I think that article was in the september 09 Diesel Power. very good point though
Bittfield426 1 year ago
@Reaper87xx Yes this is true. But diesel engines are still more fuel efficient per unit power demanded as compared to petrol engines. And sorry for commenting on an 11 months old comment. =P
TechnologyR0xx0rz 1 year ago
@TechnologyR0xx0rz Well yes of course haha. I don't see ANY reason why some cars are still gas based. Like family sedans. There is no reason why a family sedan needs 275HP like they are getting from some of these 3.4 - 3.9L V6 gas engines. They need torque like any other "hauler" (family hauler, cargo hauler, still a hauler). An I4 turbocharged diesel with 180 - 200HP with 320lb tf torque, 35MPG city, I rest my case. :-)
Reaper87xx 1 year ago
@Reaper87xx Yeah I agree. In fact there should be supercars with diesel engines. wacky idea and won't be very well-received, due to people's perception of diesel engines. But 12 miles to the gallon at 200 mph sounds attractive doesn't it.
TechnologyR0xx0rz 1 year ago

okay so if powerstroke is so bad ass how come they sell a kit to put a cummins in a ford and if u have ever read a diesel mag the trucks that are puttin out that real high horsepower numbers are 12 valve cummins
swmiller92 2 years ago
how come they sell a kit to drop a pwerstroke into a dodge??? all diesel trucks are the shit and they can all do the same exact shit
sbc2k1 2 years ago
they can do the same shit but cummins does it alot easier than the other diesels , and for alot longer too
GypsyKiller450 2 years ago 2
never seen a kit to put a PS in a dodge. Most kits put a Cummins in a Ford

NO YOUR WRONG!!! powerstoke is badass ....IF YOU SPEND A SHIT LOAD OF MONEY...in the long run..ya cummins will probably make more power.. but powerstroke can be up there if ur willing to pay an ass load of money cummins is waaaayy cheaper to do so and there are a ton more power adders for cummins
usnavyseals99 2 years ago
whats the fastest powerstroke in the 1/4, cause i never heard of one under 12 myself, while the cummins are low 10s at least last time i looked into it

Please 'splain.
gulfstreamnights 2 years ago
V8's can't be perfectly harmonically balanced, the only v engine that can be is the v16. This means the v8 doesn't last as long as say an inline 6, which can be perfectly balanced. Inline engines make more power per cylinder because of this as well. The only disadvantage of an inline is length. Looks like you've bought on to "the power of the v8" like every other jackass has in america. Just because you own a vehicle doesn't mean you don't bring it to a shop every time it has an issue.
JtsGreene 2 years ago
I find that difficult to believe because despite my preference in diesel engines, I have driven two 7.3's. A 250 and a 350 and they were absolute dogs. Good running trucks but slow as shit. And the cummins makes way more power than the powerstroke.
DIMEoDOOM 2 years ago 2
According to manufacturers specs, for example, a 1995 ford 7.3L powerstroke specs 210 hp @ 3000 rpm w/ 425 ft lbs torque @ 2000 rpm, and a dodge 5.9 liter automatic specs 160 hp @ 2500 and 400 ft lbs torque @ 1500 rpm. As far as the cummins making way more power, well, I'm not seeing it on paper and I am not seeing it on the road.
gulfstreamnights 2 years ago
think about wat you just said a 7.3L and a 5.9L cummins smaller but almost as strong doesnt take much to make that 5.3 meaner than the 7.3
reallypissedmadman 2 years ago
pull the fuel plate and crank the star wheel and the ford is gonna have to spend a good bit of money just to keep up, that is if it dont blow up 1st
