I've heard her joke about her vocal technique as "voice by Marlboro". I love her, but, a few songs aside, she could no longer get through a live concert by the mid-70's. I bet all copies of her performance of "Fast Buck Freddie" for an awards show have been long destroyed, and when the later Starship performed at the Oscars someone else filled in for her. But, at her peek, there was/is no one like Grace Slick.
