That intro really cuts into me. Like it is a heart-smothering manifestation of some deeply hidden madness that eats the the man alive...gives me shivers in a good way...old In Flames songs usually do that.
Everytime i heard this song... i Remember "AIZEN" transforming using his Hogyoku and my favorite ZANPAKUTO "Kyoka Suigetsu ..... ^_^ ..... HORRAYYY!!! AIZEN SAMA ..... HORRAAAYYYY ..!!! AIZEN SAMA ;))

How can a band become so bad after being so good? (sorry loyal fans.)
But I have to say that I've never heard their old stuff, only the new and holy shit - the old stuff is brilliant! Very impressed with their old stuff! Anyone who knows In Flames: at which album did they stop with "this" sound and turn so stale? Thanks!
@WillTingleberry Personally, I think they sounded good from Lunar Strain to Clayman. They started sounding a little like they do today in Clayman, but it was still melodeth, unlike some of their newer stuff. I like a few of their newer songs, (my favorite In Flames song is actually Crawl Through Knives) but most of it is way to mainstream.
IN FLAMES WE TRUST!!! Dont hate the new, but embrace the past. Change is inevitable. Just thank the stars you are among those who have even heard this masterpiece.
it's amazing how different old and new inflames are... i think it's not bad to change, look at ac/dc for example: boooooooooooooooring, the same shit over and over again. So we can all hope, that one day in flames will turn back to its roots!
@ofortuna77 The lyrics were written by Anders Fridén, whom is the former vocalist of Dark Tranquillity, and then they were translated by Niklas Sundin, now lead guitarrist of Dark Tranquillity. Back in the day, Fredrik Johansson, former lead guitarrist of Dark Tranquillity played the famous "December Flower" solo on "The Jester Race".
@maggotfrom1993 Yeah, practically you wouldn't have one without the other. These two bands are of the best that ever came from Sweden. Love them both. :)
Maybe some guys think the quality of old In Flames is bad. But in these years metal bands wanted to sound as raw as possible to get an original and (not overworked) live sound to show their real talent they got and border from the mainstream shit.
I respect that much. It shows much passion to music + sense to originality. And i boycott every stupid and spoiled Hip Hopper who say "Metal is just stupid satanic screaming". It have 1000 times more passion and talent then you Flo Rida crap!
I also love Reroute To Remain but dont you understand this pure brilliance of old Melodic Death Metal music? This is pure talented and meaningful Metal music and not overworked stuff. It make no sense to post a comment on a "Subterrenean" song like "Reroute To Remain" is better or something. You just love RTR because of the catchy riffs and electronic sound. Dont understand me wrong. I also love RTR but you must understand the pure brilliance and originality of old MeloDeathMetal.
This song is better than their last 4 albums combined and it barely has any views WTF..If it was a new emo In Flames song it would have over a million..I'll never understand..
