  • That intro really cuts into me. Like it is a heart-smothering manifestation of some deeply hidden madness that eats the the man alive...gives me shivers in a good way...old In Flames songs usually do that.

  • Everytime i heard this song... i Remember "AIZEN" transforming using his Hogyoku and my favorite ZANPAKUTO "Kyoka Suigetsu ..... ^_^ ..... HORRAYYY!!! AIZEN SAMA ..... HORRAAAYYYY ..!!! AIZEN SAMA ;))

  • This is quite possibly the greatest song Ive ever heard. And definitely one of the most epic.

  • Aizen sent me here :)

  • AIZEN #1

  • Just becuz of a post in a forum, all the comments going around abt Aizen XD

  • WTF is Aizen?!

  • @Koenigsbomber Aizen is, oh god, an idiotic moron who is evil in bleach. If you don't understand me, Watch the **** show!

  • @Koenigsbomber some fucking manga shit, like Moonshield is the theme song for Ulquiorra for ex.

  • @Koenigsbomber He is the main protagonist of the anime Bleach.

  • @Koenigsbomber a evil giant butterfly from the awsome show bleach!

  • @Koenigsbomber

Aizen is a Character from the Japanese manga called Bleach. The Author, Tite Kubo, gives theme songs to some of his characters. Aizen, the main bad guy in Part One of Bleach, was given this song as his theme song.

....Also, he got giant butterfly wings. Don't ask why. >_____>

  • This doesn't feel Aizen-y

  • whats with all this aizen shit?!??

  • @sdfdogjedi100 Tite Kubo, author of Bleach, chose this song as Sosuke Aizens theme (Aizen is the main villain)

  • @MrMrFreddy lol.

  • who said this is aizen's theme?

  • @SkywalkerGFZ Tite Kubo deemed it so

  • I just learned that one of my favorite songs, from my favorite band is the theme song for my favorite Bleach character. XD

  • What is Aizen?

  • @Locklear117491 A character from the anime Bleach

  • AIZEN-SAMA! BONZAI!!!

  • Sing praises unto Lord Aizen!!!!

  • AIZEN

  • thumbs up who's here bcz of Aizen :)

  • @dustbite16 thumbs up who's here for his taste in music...

  • For a Song named "Stand Ablaze" It starts off pretty slow, but it's really good. ^_^

  • Aizen-sama's theme!

  • crawl through knives rocks \--/,

  • epicccccccccccc

  • Meh.

  • Too heavy for me. I'm gonna stick to Bieber and co.

  • @Thresholds loser

  • This song is like a gift from God.

  • So much I'd like to hear a remastered version of this track and the whole album in general...

  • How can a band become so bad after being so good? (sorry loyal fans.)

But I have to say that I've never heard their old stuff, only the new and holy shit - the old stuff is brilliant! Very impressed with their old stuff! Anyone who knows In Flames: at which album did they stop with "this" sound and turn so stale? Thanks!

  • @WillTingleberry Personally, I think they sounded good from Lunar Strain to Clayman. They started sounding a little like they do today in Clayman, but it was still melodeth, unlike some of their newer stuff. I like a few of their newer songs, (my favorite In Flames song is actually Crawl Through Knives) but most of it is way to mainstream.

  • @WillTingleberry Lunar Strain -- Clayman is considered the old In Flames.

  • @Kevzen0 check out "The Resistance"...... The real In Flames might not be done just yet

  • Wow...

  • one of the greatest songs of one of the greatest bands in the world!!!nothing else !!!

  • @Ikillpain hahahahahaha words of wisdom my friend....

  • Most emotional song I ever heard...

  • in flames eg vill ha mer

  • in flames rocke.

verdens beste band. fan fra norge

  • IN FLAMES WE TRUST!!! Dont hate the new, but embrace the past. Change is inevitable. Just thank the stars you are among those who have even heard this masterpiece.

  • I really dont like Subterrain and Lunar strain. The voice my ears need is Anders Fridén´s.

  • it's amazing how different old and new inflames are... i think it's not bad to change, look at ac/dc for example: boooooooooooooooring, the same shit over and over again. So we can all hope, that one day in flames will turn back to its roots!

  • @Parteque I could not agree more with you, Ac/Dc got too old, without some changes things really get

repetetive and that is anoying for a musical kind of view. In Flames we Trust

  • It bothers me that this song sounds a lot like the pirates of the caribean song

  • awsommmmme !!!!!!!!!! in flames we fucking trust YEARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR ! thumbs up if ouy like in flames !

  • @AnthonyBragg It is famous.

  • I like all In flames =]

  • This was truly one of the best songs of In Flames!!!

  • reminds me of zelda or something at the begining

  • @5krat to me, resident evil.

  • best outro !!

  • I like the Subterranean EP much more than the Lunar Strain Album, much because i like Henke Forss more than i like Stanne.

But ofc Anders is the ONLY real frontman of this band.

  • @AnthonyBragg Guess you're right, but you know what I meant. XD

  • This is the In Flames I used to trust.

  • In Flames does nothing to me, but this song is simply amazing,

  • @o6one9o DUDE!!

Listen To 'Voices' by Machinemade God!!! IT'S AWSOME

  • I honestly love this EP more than their first album Lunar Strain...

  • now i remember why i loved and love in flames

  • can someone please tell me excactly what subterranean is? like was it one of there albums or something?

  • @80smetalchild It was In Flames' first EP, after Lunar Strain but before Jester Race. They were still using session musicians at this point.

  • @80smetalchild

go to Encyclopeadia Metallum for your Metalresearch

  • @ofortuna77

thanks for the replys guys, but i found what i wanted to know now

  • Such an underrated album this one. LS/S, Clayman and Come Clarity are my favourites but they haven't made a bad one yet.

  • People who say that Dark Tranquillity is better than In Flames should check alboums like this Jester Race and Clayman...I also love the new stuff...

  • @lioubinos99

some part in Jester Race album was written by one member of dark tranquillity . which one ??I give you a clue . he play in both bands dt and IF

  • @ofortuna77 ANDERS????

  • @ofortuna77

the december flower solo (you know which one I'm talking about) was played by the lead guitarist from dt.

  • @ofortuna77 The lyrics were written by Anders Fridén, whom is the former vocalist of Dark Tranquillity, and then they were translated by Niklas Sundin, now lead guitarrist of Dark Tranquillity. Back in the day, Fredrik Johansson, former lead guitarrist of Dark Tranquillity played the famous "December Flower" solo on "The Jester Race".

  • @Latheralius that's funny when people say 'dark tranquillity suck' or "in flames" suck. I mean those two bands are basically brothers.

  • @maggotfrom1993 Yeah, practically you wouldn't have one without the other. These two bands are of the best that ever came from Sweden. Love them both. :)

  • Maybe some guys think the quality of old In Flames is bad. But in these years metal bands wanted to sound as raw as possible to get an original and (not overworked) live sound to show their real talent they got and border from the mainstream shit.

I respect that much. It shows much passion to music + sense to originality. And i boycott every stupid and spoiled Hip Hopper who say "Metal is just stupid satanic screaming". It have 1000 times more passion and talent then you Flo Rida crap!

  • My favorite song, mostly because of the beautiful intro..

  • geat memories..great song.. grandi in flames

  • I prefer there stuff on reroute to remain

  • @Neon7Zebra

I also love Reroute To Remain but dont you understand this pure brilliance of old Melodic Death Metal music? This is pure talented and meaningful Metal music and not overworked stuff. It make no sense to post a comment on a "Subterrenean" song like "Reroute To Remain" is better or something. You just love RTR because of the catchy riffs and electronic sound. Dont understand me wrong. I also love RTR but you must understand the pure brilliance and originality of old MeloDeathMetal.

  • Oscar Dronjak from Hammerfall makes the second voice in this song, bizarre !rs

great song, good days of in flames.

  • its gr8 that the whole album only costs 4.99 gbp on itunes, but its worth much more

  • JESPER... I miss YOU!!

  • kick ass epic song

  • These are the in flames I so fondly remember.

  • Best MeloDeath song of alle times!

  • A song with true musical feeling within it

  • Adrian Erlandsons brother plays drums on this album.

  • Yeah, Daniel Erlandsson, He's now the drummer for Arch Enemy

  • @Strive4Perfecti0n he was just filling in for IF at the time.

Also In Flames is amazing, new or old, it's all exceptional.

    In Flames We Trust.

  • This is fuck'n great. yeah, it brings back memories of my bloody good days.

    Just crying mate.

  • This song is better than their last 4 albums combined and it barely has any views WTF..If it was a new emo In Flames song it would have over a million..I'll never understand..

  • @Mr6396904 Amen...

  • @Mr6396904

do you know that the most emo lyrics IF have ever put out are exactly in this song?

so stop being such a douche

  • Shut up guys. Most bands will go back to there old style at one point.

  • @Slacker996 We hope :(

  • @Slacker996 lol name one

  • @slaughter69corpse I said that to lighten everything up :(

  • is he henke forss

  • @Scyther36 Yes, he is....

@Slacker996 Man, I just wish, too, it could be so true... Thanks for your kindness, though... u_u

  • the one awesome left behind song anders didn't remake

  • The best In Flames ever.

  • i wouldn't compare old and new in flames.

I know there are people who like new inflames sound

but older stuff is brutal, raw, perfect, first albums

its like completly different band and genre

  • How could this song still be so beautiful after all these years?

  • FUCKINg BEAUTYFULL love the ending solo - epic \m/ -_- \m/

  • 2:50 - 3:40 sounds like a metallized version of something from the Legend of Zelda soundtrack.

  • i hope they will follow this path again...

  • My favourite IN FLAMES song of all time. The first one I learned on guitar.

  • Old in flames is out of this world IMO

  • In Flames are just experimenting with the genre they fucking invented together with At the gates and Dark Tranquillity. If you don't like their music right now, fine, but keep it to yourself then? I agree on them being better their early days, but I still think their music kicks ass :)

  • just the perfection...

  • i love the guitars in the end :)

  • Love it! They definitely reached their peak with 'The Jester Race', but I still listen to everything up until (and including) 'Reroute to Remain'. I don't mind their later albums either, but they can't compare to their earliest work.

  • @cockynoodle Their new stuff is definitely a different genre now but you have to admit nobody sounds like in flames.

  • In Flames don't suck now....they played good metal, now they play good...mainstream pop....stuff. Personally I freaking hate the kind of music they make now.....but for that genre it's probably still pretty good music.

  • mainstream pop? really?

they sound like justin bieber to you?

    i think not

  • your all just jealous why do they suck......there still making wicked music yes the best albums are the earliest ones but they still got it

  • no they dont...

  • yessss they suck now,

  • Which album is this off of, because I have subterranean but this track is sort of different. Can anyone explain this for me?

  • do you have just subterranean? because i have tihs song. it's in the album Lunar Strain\Subterraen^^

  • Yeah no it turns out It's the same track after all, I have it on Subterranean. It's not on Lunar Strain for me though.

  • You can't make anything better than 3:38

  • good sound =)

  • Every time i listen the riff at 3:38 i cry.

It will be the genial riff or the fear to don't listen anything of this on a future album of In Flames.......

  • Brings back memories of the good days when In Flames played true melodeath.

  • Wicked, just wicked. Best Death metal band ever.

  • This song is truly A M A Z I N G!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Especially this part 3:38

  • Henke is god!

  • Forss, Stanne and Anders, they are all great. The difference is that Forss is a Bmetal vocalist, Stanne a SDmetal vocalist and Anders an ex-SMmetal NWOSM vocalist. Thats why Lunar Strain is more SD metal Subterranean has some B influences and the Albums with Anders are how they are...

  • Comment removed

  • what the hell is SD vocalist?

  • personaly i think that Mikael Stane was theyre best vocalist

  • i can play everything from 3:00 until the end on my guitar and it sounds exact. should i make a video of it and put it on here?

  • this is just beautiful... i cant describe the feeling i get from both Subterranean and Lunar Strain... i truly love them

  • love this song so good

    In Flames we trust

  • this is such an amazing song. it's pure melodeath perfection. i like all of they're songs but this one from the old days is just pure perfection :D

  • grammar

  • definitly

  • what does that mean?

  • i was replying to fredvain when he said henke forss made the record even better

  • I think Henke forss MAde this record even better than it already is..But Anders is good but This album feel it's sorta ''made'' for Henkes vocal..

  • 3:14 \m/

  • marvelous song

    badass vocals

    amazing guitar

    in flames we trust \m/

  • This guy knew how to write. If you read the lyrics, I have to say, I love the first two albums in the ways of writing compared to the new stuff. But their new stuff is amazing.

I write a lot, and as a writer about to be in a band and stuff, as well as someone who writes for fun, this guys talent blows me out of the water.

I love In Flames. I may not be correct, but I do believe Anders came in a little bit later. This was the old singer/screamer. Notice how he sounds 10x different from Anders?

  • dont have words to say how great is it. listen to this guitars voice... perfect.

  • i've been listening to these beast for like 8 years. i still eat it up their old shit and i will till im pwnd meat.. As for the new stuff send flowers to their grave.

  • whos plucking the cello @ 3:39 & on?

  • from lunar strain to colony, best melodic death metal band ever

  • from the Jester Race to A Sense of Purpose.

Lunar Strain has a few good songs, this being one of them, but even Jesper admitted most of the album was trash he threw together in a week because he lied to the label saying he had a full album worth of songs.

    In Flames We Trust

  • lunar strain actually had several decent songs i think, in flames, lunar strain, upon an oaken throne, those were good

  • i don't if the thing Jesper said is true, but i know they lied to the label about having a full album worth of songs.

  • the band then was basically jesper and glenn (who quit later). They had Stanne fill for vocals, Daniel from Arch Enemy fill for drums, a filler bass player, etc...Thats why I really consider In Flames to have started at Subterranean/TJR, even though there is some killer stuff on Lunar Strain/Black Ash.

  • black ash actually came out a little later than TJR

  • oops meant to say Subterranean to A Sense of Purpose :(

  • Lunar Strain to Clayman imo. Clayman has some down-right epic classics, Bullet Ride, Clayman, Square Nothing, Pinball Map, Only for the Weak...the list goes on and on.

  • It's a classic,let us not speak more!

And the last great album, sadly :'-(

Oh and for your KSE comment, compare any album of KSE to In Flames, you just can't it's a higher value!

KSE is just the screams and the instrumental lacks, this is true metal, that made history!

And yeah, you're right IF are the same now :(,but I still love them 110%,they haven't faded !

  • pretty much the whole album...and the bonus tracks

  • I agree totally with you.

  • I can play the end solo to STAND ABLAZE on my guitar !:DxD

  • ive been listenin to In Flames for 4 years now and i guess IN FLAMES is a band u never get bored of. infact im listening to them right now on my iPod THEYRE FUCKIN AWESOME

  • An amazing work. Ordinary Story and Scorn kicked ass as well.
