No. As I wrote in the info, it is a stallion. Titus had been gelded less than two weeks earlier, so he still had hormones circulating. He was showing off.
He's wonderful ..and yes .. I'm with you on Connie's horses - they are the creme de la creme . (grin) I have a video clip of Pluto Tacoma on my photobucket site that just blows me away each time I look at it :) - you must be so proud of your boy! His length of back should also give him some wonderful "Schwung"! :)
One of my most favorite Lipizzan stallions is "Pluto Tacoma" .. so, I'm guessing they're related since the stallion I like is out of the mare "Tacoma"? right?
Yes. They were both bred at Carrousel Farm in Oregon, owned by Connie Micheletti. Titus was born in 2000. I think that Pluto Tacoma was born in 2002. Connie's horses have consistently been among the highest-rated in North America by Dr Olehla, former head of the breeding program at Piber (and Director of the Spanish Riding School).
Beautiful, yes, but not "well-trained." At the time, Titus was only 4 and had no training, other than basic handling. What you see is his natural movement, untouched by training. He had been gelded only a week or so before, so he still had some testosterone. He's showing off to a stallion in the background.
Yes, he does, especially considering that, in the video, he was only 4 and not schooled. He has quite an overstep and a lot of suspension at the trot.
Thanks. It's hard to see here, but his overstep is about 18 inches--not bad for a 14.2h horse. Where the video stops, all 4 feet are 2-3 inches off the ground. It's easy to see where the dressage masters got the arched neck frame.
I just wish that the YouTube video was higher quality. Here's the URL for the original 320x240 MPEG4
He's gorgeous, George. When will you put up a current video? :D

He is grey, like most Lipizzans. The video was done when he was 4. He's now 8 & almost completely white.

Well gelded he'll make a great performance horse for the lucky rider-trainer. He is so iconic looking. And what a mover.

what an incredibly beautiful horse..too bad he's gelded.

He had to be gelded. He was a "cryptorchid"--his testicles were inside his body, so he would be sterile.

Titus' sire, Maestoso Platana 21, was a quadrille horse at the Spanish Riding School.
It's hard to tell in the YouTube video, but Titus' overstep is at least 24" when he gets going. Not bad for an unschooled 14.2h horse.

Wow - it looks like he is playing to the camera, but perhaps the music adds to the effect.
