How many rounds do you need to bring to this competition? Also, is there a restriction on the type of ammunition? I'm thinking about going to one for the first time with my new G34. Any beginner info will help me to decide if I want to make the 4+ hour trip to GSSF.
@AllenFamilyMadness - I was using a Samsung SC-X300L video system....it's a discontinued model but you can probably still find it on Ebay. That's where I got it, plus it was refurbished (but it still works great).
i need to get me a glock. i just cant desied between the 34 or 17. i want one for home defense and range use but the cut out on the slide of the 34 worries me as far as dust and stuff getting in there.
You don't need to worry about the cut out. It assists in decreasing the felt recoil (not by much though). The Glock was designed to be shot in harsh environments, you do not need to worry about a little dirt and dust.
I live in Florida so logically I decided upon the G17 RTF2 for IDPA... gets hot down here and the grip is perfect! After shooting it 100 times my first range session I stopped using all my other pistols.
I also have a SS Lonewolf threaded barrel and Jager Comp which looks much like Gamingoddess S&J compensator at first glance.
@dp665 I shoot a G17 gen4 in IDPA and GSSF. It all depends on what you're comfortable with. I just didn't want to purchase both the G17&34, so I picked the 17 because it would allow me to shoot amateur civilian. The g34 is only allowed in competition and open.
Plus, if I win amateur civ then I would win a voucher to put towards a g34.
Man, that looks like fun! I just came back to Glock pistols from Beretta pistols for both on duty and off. I can't wait for my first GSSF event. Nice shooting, hope to see you at an event!
You will have a blast at the GSSF match. It's even more fun if you drag a couple of friends with you too. Every GSSF match that I've gone to, I've gotten something...1st Lady or a free glock knife or a free 2-year membership. It's crazy just how much more you get back from the Glock folks. Well worth the small-cost membership! If you go, make sure to post a vid!

I use the Shooter's Ridge Range Pistol Bag...usually it's around 25-35 dollars. I absolutely love it. I have much larger ones that I don't use anymore since this one is nice and small...i get sick of carrying around too much baggage.
I just love your head cam... excellent quality and first person view is always interesting. I guess it was not exactly cheap, right?
Very enjoyable video! I like the intro; the way to the match gives a nice natural impression. The weather doesn't look exactly comfortable though. =)
I also like your attitude. While you are not completely satisfied with your performance you seem to think positively and have fun with the shooting itself. I think too many people stress themselves with competing.
Thanks for the compliments, I kinda wish I filmed my ride home too. The traffic was horrendous...took me only 3.5 hours to go to NJ...but then it took me 6.0 hours to go back to CT....yeah then there were torrential downpours...I wasn't a happy camper. Though I'm not really competitive, this is kind of a downfall too. I play too much to have fun, which means there's little chance of me improving. I'm hoping to change that, while keeping my "cool" too :)
Hey, no problem, though you might be a headache with the "blair witchhunt" effect...most of the footage is just staring at the targets...i didn't realize how much i just blatantly stare at the targets until i downloaded my vids from my camcorder. Message me your e-mail address and i'll see what i can find! :)
Jordan, the real question is, which one is the most dominating winner in the Area and National tournaments? Hmmm....CZ, what's that? No, just kidding, if there was a CZSSF you know I would buy a SP01 or Shadow just to play with you guys! :)
I keep telling myself to try one of these matches and just don't get around to it. It looks like a lot of fun from your video. More fun than I thought it would be. Driving with the hatcam on gave me a good chuckle, too. :-)
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, I wasn't really planning to make the vid like this...I simply recorded the ride and extra scenes to show my folks back home just how much it was raining. But after I saw all the footage I got from my hat cam, I thought it would be neat to put it all together into more of the steps to take part in a match...It kinda gives me the idea to use my hat cam to get behind the scenes footage of our sport too...since folks will never know when I'm actually recording lol.

Nice work. What kind of sights do you have on your 22 and 34? Doesn't look like stock sights but I can't tell for sure

It's from the FFVII Crisis Core OST. The song is titled "Conflict". Love the soundtrack!
