but when you lose your breath, make sure you don't automatically go into the next beat. it tends to speed the song up. and what will help with your breath is if you don't let out so much air when you play. and as the notes get higher, making your embouchure hole smaller makes it easier.

the flute music is the same as the music for the piano. you just have to make some notes flats... i dont think you can get it without maybe but who knows.. just go to google and type in clarinet music for River Flows in You. maybe you will find one.

i play flute, and have to do this for my schools christmas concert, cause i do a solo every year, dont ask why, but i suggest, you work on your fingering, cause i think your problem wasyour blowing is choppy, and when you switching notes, the choppy-ness doesn't hellp, on such a difficult song, .. but is this song played with flats, naturals, or flat and in which key?

Tonguing:

I dont play flute so I dont think I know that much but my band teacher mentions it EVERY lesson I think its when you keep the air blowing but you separate it with your tongue or something so it doesn't sound like youre blowing before every note. So it doesnt sound choppy.

that's not bad tonguing... and tonguing is just bad on reed instruments. and you're suppose to tongue most notes unless it's mean to slur
